Listening to these soundtracks evokes emotions that make me want to cry. I miss being a kid so much. I haven't been an adult for long but the world feels so cold and cruel now. I miss the warmth and innocence of getting my first pokemon game, which was diamond, for Christmas. I saw it at Blockbuster and asked my parents for it so many times, and would eventually get a DS with pokemon. My grandparents had a cozy house deep in the woods, and I remember lying under the coffee table while journeying through Sinnoh. My grandfather died 8 years ago, and the house had to be sold as my grandmother couldn't live there alone anymore without him. I miss that house, I miss building lego there, I miss my Animal Crossing villagers, I miss watching Spongebob on VHS, and I miss all of the other memories I have of that place. I'm on the verge of tears but that's what this music means to me. It's more than just a soundtrack to a game for me, and I know it is for countless other people. It's incredible the effect music and nostalgia can have on us.
I don’t know what it is, but the soundtracks of Pokémon dpp hit so different. Sometimes when I am sad, I listen to it, I close my eyes and like relive all of the great memories again. Sometimes I cry while listening to it and sometimes I smile like a little kid. I am so so sooooo happy that my brother bought me a r4 card and downloaded Pokémon platinum on it (I was 9). It was my first Pokémon game I finished. I remember being stuck in the first cave for days! I didn’t know how to use rock smash. I played the game for like 300 hours and then I lost my r4 card. Or someone stole it. (I had a classmate who always stole things when she came over) after 4 years (I was 13) I asked my mom to buy me Pokémon platinum. It was super cheap that time and I was a bit upset because of school and when I came home.. I saw the shiny cover of Pokémon platinum. I got so happy and immediately played the game, finished it and I went to all the places in the game to just sit and listen to the music. Now that I’m 22, almost 23, I still sit and cry because of the great memories I had, playing with my 2 cousins and unfortunately 1 passed away in 2021, 2 months before pokemon shining Pearl and brilliant Diamond came out. I couldn’t even finish that game because.. it was a game we used to play for months together. I still want to cry my eye balls out and I probably will later. But I also have to accept the fact that it will never be the same like it was back then. But I will never ever forget those amazing days. And that’s also why I created to playlist, to relive every moment of Pokémon dpp. 😁
It makes me sad that my boyfriend doesn't understand that, I tend to play a lot of tracks on repeat because of this, but they're the type that plays games on mute because the Music is too repetitive and gets annoying
I liked being a kid but tbh being an adult ain't all that bad. I like how much I've learned, I like how much there's still left to learn. I don't have as much time for video games but I have other interests now that fulfill me.
That’s what I loved about BDSP. I don’t care what people have to say about them, I thought sticking to the same art style was a great choice and the music too is the best music out of all the remakes to me. It’s so familiar and feels like an old Pokémon game which is super important on a console where all the others try so hard to be modern
@@MrBells-un5ly Just imagine how sick pokemon games couldve gotten if they wouldve kept making pixel art games. The fact that this released 17 years ago is insane to me. Legit feels like yesterday that I was elementary age playing this. Welp, I’m gonna go cry in a corner now lol
Man, I miss being young so much. I was 11 when I received Platinum in Christmas 2009, my first ever main series Pokémon game. I remember coming back from middle school in those sunny afternoons and battling online with my classmates. Now I’m almost 26, I have a full time job and I’m moving into my own apartment, but I remember this era like it was yesterday. Thank you, Sinnoh, you’ll always feel like home ❤
These slowed down pieces of music is exactly how I remember it, Nintendo isn't big in India so we used to play this in emulators which would run a game at a slow fps. I remember wishing for an actual nds 15 years ago so bad, now I have a 2ds xl finally and I can play all the nds games I want on it, but I am just not that kid who can just play these video games without worrying about other things anymore, ah, the irony of life. Playing pokemon diamond and pearl were the best times of my life and these are the times I always go back to when people ask me about the golden period of my life.
Pokemon was my escape as an anxiety filled child. Coming to terms with existing within the confines of a body was difficult for me, sensory overload over socks, bodily functions- you name it. As someone with ADHD and ASD I found comfort in Pokemon. It soothed me. I'd hide away in the dark closet under my stairs and play Leaf Green on my SP. For my 12th birthday I got a coral pink DS Lite and Diamond. Piplup was my partner and we took on the world of Sinnoh together. I spent 800+ hours on that game until I lost it one day. My neighbors and I would sit on our front porch and explore the underground together. I started my own "daycare" and they would trade me their Pokemon and I'd train it for them. At family events, I'd shy away and play Diamond. Hearing these songs now.. it carries me back to that part of myself. The one who relied on Pokemon to get by. Thank you for reminding me who I was, but also where I am now. Panic attacks only appear when major change happens. Maybe 3x a year instead of 3x a day. I can socialize and focus a lot. But I wouldn't have been able to cope like this if it weren't for Pokemon.
The memories that come to mind when listening to this are so beautiful. And it's insane, they're almost alive, I feel like I'm reliving those moments again, yet I'm here listening to this. So close, yet so far. There was something unique about D/P era, something so pure, idk. So many years have passed since then, we've come a long way. Thinking about all those times, your friends, that you haven't seen most of them for years, because everyone has their own responsibilities etc. It's just insane, that one day you all sat there and played pokemon together for the last time, but none of you knew it was the last time.

I haven’t even played Gen 4 yet (got the Platinum game, but no energy), but this still feels comforting and nostalgic. My first Pokemon game was Pokemon Black, and I still love it so much. I grew up playing the original gameboy games, and have been with Pokemon throughout its existence, but something about the GEN IV ost hits so hard for me. It's the most emotional as a whole, of any of the series, for me. I just love it so much, and it makes me feel happy, sad, nostalgic, melancholy, just everything.
Thanks for the video, really nostalgic, brings a lot of memories and things back.. Sad how now that I'm an adult (21)and with the new games I can't finish them and be deep inside them. With the games of our childhood like DPP or HGSS it was so different 💫 So that music helps reliving those great feelings, thank you, and keep going! Maybe HGSS mix in the future? :)

Nowdays pokemon hasn't got the same magic it had before, years ago. I count my blessings I still got my old DS games. Maybe some day I'll brush dust off a few of them. While I'm at it, maybe my old Game Boy Advanced games too? World goes by too fast. Might be nice just to slow down a tad, finish some old games, start some new ones. Who knows.
It's 2011, I was roughly 14 years old, we had a revolution going on in our country, It was horrific and dangerous because of the random shooting and terroism, and yet I was playing this game on my emulator on my old pc day and night. I remember feeling comfort and at ease when I play this game and see my infernape waiting for me. This is one memory I will remember to the end of me
Honestly, game freak needs to come up with another game like this, 2D was an underrated revolution in game history, and Pokemon games, in their simplicity, always managed to squeeze every aspect of that kind of world. If game freak suddenly came up with another 2D game like this, announced it for the Nintendo switch, but also announced cartridges for the DS (Which in all honesty, they could make) I would fucking treasure those cartridges forever and would k1ll people to have them.

This makes me so so SOO happy! 🥹❤️ I’m very glad that you’re enjoying it! I’m also a girl unwilling to grow up and wanna live in Pokémon Platinum forever. 😭 But I am busy with a new playlist, but because of my health, it will take a lot longer. But I will do my best to finish it soon! ❤️
And you got a very nice pfp btw!
@@dasslowed Thank you! Get well soon, no rush uploading :))
Stay positive, uplifting and optimistic!
@@StoicBoyMario merci merci 😁😁
I’m so drunk and nostalgic right now. I wish I was 8 again.
With the games of our childhood like DPP or HGSS it was so different 💫
So that music helps reliving those great feelings, thank you, and keep going! Maybe HGSS mix in the future? :)
I def will create a HGSS playlist, but I think that I will need y’all help with that one. I never played it and I don’t know which soundtrack I should use in the playlist. 😮💨🥲
And I’m almost 23 (2 months left) and I also have trouble with finishing the new Pokémon games. They don’t feel like the old 8bit/pixel games from back then and the story is so short or too easy to play.. 😭
@@dasslowedfine, we'll advise you when needed! But it would be better if u have the tume to play the game 😌😜
And yep exactly, I didn't finished arceux cuz got bored from the GamePlay (even if really cool!), Also from BDSP cuz too similar to its predecessor but even worse lol, and the last one, well, I'm still in it, feels nice, but the game's sadly wayy to easy as you said.. :(
That's why we have fangames and rom hacks hehee 😎
@@flixouille6408 HAHA! now that you say it, i can remember some youtubers playing pokemon fanmade games, i laughed my lungs out. that was sooo hilarisch! And BDSP was also .... i dont want to disrespect pokemon, but we sinnoh fans didnt deserve that. i am not sorry actually but i hoped something like pokemon letsgo or something like pokemon arceus. And some soundtracks were also kinda ruined in my opinion.. but i could never do it any better so i have to accept it! ;'D
Gba and Ds era was the best the music hits different in this games
Dpp will always be my favorite if it’s about soundtracks 🥹
My favorite has to the the bicycle, hall of fame, and Eterna Forest. Thanks for the nostalgia!
Sinnoh might not be my favorite region these days, but one thing I can respect about the region is how it felt like the last region to actually *be* a Pokémon region, in a certain sense of the word.
This is a walk in a park of nostalgic memories of 06 and 07 vibes when pokemon diamond and pokemon pearl were introduced to the world haha. Ah good times, really brings me tears of joy listening to these classic soundtracks haha
9:54 makes me feel like I’ve been there in a different time and space, which is true. I was 8, and I’ve already got something for the OST
thank you for this mix.
9:55 It sounds even more depressing and nostalgic than it already sounded...
original sinnoh games are still peak pokemon music TBH
gen 5 games get close but ill still say i prefer gen 4
Saaaaaame!
Nowdays pokemon hasn't got the same magic it had before, years ago. I don't like it to admit it, as a huge pokemon fan since i was 5 years old (I'm 21 now), but it's true: pokemon has lost value after gen 5, at least for me (but i really liked pokemon legend ngl). I really miss the old days and the old pokemon. This brings a lot of nostalgia, the lakes themes, the gts (even if it is not in this video) and the lab ost HIT really hard into my heart: lot of memories❤️.
Hope y'all have a good life 👻.
Te echo de menos papá ❤
How nice songs....
Thanks for this playlist🌱 It heals the heart
You’re welcome ❤️🥹
Oh, wow. Something about the slower versions of these songs is just... perfect?
I made a quick discord server so that yall can make your requests there, i dont receive notifications and sometimes i dont see some comments.
Feel free to join: discord.gg/P8KdAkUUfP
And it’s also very loving to see you guys commenting your memories, your emotions.. it’s heartwarming 🥹
You're laying down in your bed late at night,it's raining and you decide to open up your ds,you progress in Pokemon platinum, then lastly, when you've decided to leave pokemon platinum, you play Pokemon platinum for the last time, and you close your ds for the last time.
It sounds so cool slowed down!
Some people will hate me, but honestly: Gen IV and V was peak Pokémon and those gens were so fantastic, it killed the franchise.
I count my blessings I still got my old DS games. Maybe some day I'll brush dust off a few of them.
While I'm at it, maybe my old Game Boy Advanced games too?
World goes by too fast. Might be nice just to slow down a tad, finish some old games, start some new ones. Who knows.
I don't know how did you time it that well, things have changed, we did. Thank you, that's the least I can say
You’re welcome 😁
Feel nostalgia
Thank you for this, I really liked it!
You’re welcome 😁😁
It's 2011, I was roughly 14 years old, we had a revolution going on in our country, It was horrific and dangerous because of the random shooting and terroism, and yet I was playing this game on my emulator on my old pc day and night. I remember feeling comfort and at ease when I play this game and see my infernape waiting for me. This is one memory I will remember to the end of me
Thanks for this amazing playlist
god i miss being 14 years old playing this
thanks for making this
Honestly, game freak needs to come up with another game like this, 2D was an underrated revolution in game history, and Pokemon games, in their simplicity, always managed to squeeze every aspect of that kind of world.
If game freak suddenly came up with another 2D game like this, announced it for the Nintendo switch, but also announced cartridges for the DS (Which in all honesty, they could make) I would fucking treasure those cartridges forever and would k1ll people to have them.
I love this🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️ my favorite game
love this, thanks!! XD
Makes me want to replay all the games on my 3ds unfortunately they are all so expensive now especially the black and white games
I hacked my NDS to replay Pokemon D, HG/SS, B/W (2) and Y. It did something to my heart....
I went to a game store and they sold Pokémon Diamond for €70,- and Platinum for €100. 😭
@@dasslowed I looked for it second hand and in France you can get platinum version for 30€ 😶
0:35 amazed
