  • ‪@-anonymous‬ is a loosely organized, decentralized hacker and activist collective. It originated on the internet in the early 2000s, and its members are often referred to as "hacktivists." They're known for various digital protests, often wearing Guy Fawkes masks, symbolizing rebellion.
Anonymous has targeted institutions and governments for issues like censorship, privacy, and corruption. They've orchestrated distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, defaced websites, and exposed sensitive information to draw attention to their causes.
One of their most significant actions was during the 2011 Arab Spring, supporting protesters in the Middle East. They've also targeted oppressive regimes, corporations, and even the Church of Scientology.
Due to its decentralized nature, it's challenging to pinpoint specific individuals. Anonymous remains a symbol of online activism and anonymity, advocating for various causes using digital means.
