Once upon a time, there was a kingdom. The king and queen ruled the land, and had only one child -- a daughter. They were very busy and could not take care of her themselves. Living in the castle was a clever man, formerly a criminal, but one who had changed his ways, and was now sought for his quick and talented mind. Everyone but him was too busy to raise the princess. So the little girl grew up under the care of the clever man, and reached the age at which she would be expected to marry.
But the king and queen died unexpectedly...and the princess, the only heir to the throne, had to take their place. Then the clever man disappeared, leaving the girl with no one to guide her. So she did the best she could, drawing from how she had seen her parents run the kingdom. She bought fancy things and gave to the poor. She entertained guests and held festivals. She made a name for herself, and soon everyone far and wide knew her name.
But time passed, and she had spent every penny her parents had stored.
She began selling minor things around the castle. But it wasn't enough. She then sold furniture. But it wasn't enough. At last she sold the clothing off her back and finally, the castle itself. But in the end, she spent every penny and was left with nothing but her crown.
She sold this to a young girl so that she could buy spirits, and conversed with a farmer.
"I was on top of the world once...took some doing to get there. Oh, I knew the price I would have to pay. But I wanted freedom. I couldn't have that if my parents kept me in the castle, and with the clever man."

This line is so beautiful and true to me. 2018 was so entirely rough on me towards the end. But 2019 has already become promising.. All I had to do was release myself from the negativity around me. Let my own flowers bloom. ❤️

I find myself thanking you for your music more than ever. The song was a random morning click as I was coming back home. And I found myself in tears. The hardest things in life sometimes require sacrifices. Sometimes we walk away from our throne and feel the dirt under our feet. And we learn our worth outside of titles and treasures. We learn our worth through labyrinths we finish and through those who hold our hand and stand by our side along the way. It's taking that big step that is a start.
