I don't think it's fair, however, to assume that Judge Salas believes that our lives aren't as important as her life, nor her colleagues' lives.
Everyone deserves privacy and it is way too easy for someone with nefarious intentions to find the location of their target and that of their family.
Like the other commenter noted, the judge, as well as other judges, are at greater risk of being hunted down due to the nature of their jobs; when a judge issues a ruling that incites an angry and violent person, the judge is in greater danger, statistically, of his or her life than I am.
I share your position that we all should be protected from having our information so readily available on the internet, but I don't believe that this judge thinks that her life is more valuable than yours or mine.
The only reason that her son is dead and her husband is severely injured is directly related to her job.

My mother was complaining about this issue since the late 90s... I complain about it now... Everybody thought she was crazy and making a big deal out of nothing... Still, even with this tragedy people will still argue for things to stay the same. A lot of people are comfortable having all of their information out there... There are plenty of everyday citizens who won't want things to change. But, I think it should be easier to opt out of being listed. Perhaps it should be like it used to be with the phone book/ white pages. Or a central opt out database for personal information created by the government that prevents sites that list personal information from listing information of people who opt out.

Nah. She's still in shock. When my mom died of cancer I had memory loss for 3 weeks and I remember only crying a few times. The first few weeks are okay because you busy yourself with things like the funeral and the outpouring of love IS there in the beggining. But after a month or so people stop calling as often and the finality of it all really hits you. I can't imagine losing a child. This woman has many years ahead of her until she feels okay.

Her son was murdered because she held such a high position in the legal system. She was targeted because the loser gunman at first wanted to date her but soon found out she wouldn’t even sneeze in his direction. She didn’t do anything wrong. You know what? I don't know how she did not break down either. In fact I found it quite disturbing, suspicious even. She did not shed one tear! Then she got to the agenda! Her son is dead only weeks and she sits before a camera to discuss an agenda. Something is very wrong here! Things are not what they seem! Sorry I know that people grieve differently, but this is abnormal behavior for a woman that just lost her son!

Everyone's information is available. As well as a bevy of defamation. Join the club. None of our lives are private. None of us are protected. Based on the corrupt rulings I just recieved in a Civil Rights case to protect corrupt politocal leaders and the refusal to hear or address a Motion for Protective which not only concerned the blatant corruption, but also threats against my life. Again. I could not disagree more. I am ao sorry for your loss. I pray for your son and husband as well as your healing. She is so much stronger than me I almost lost my son this summer from a car accident he was in a coma for two months but is is in recovery and doing ok but at that time I didn't want to live if he didn't so the pain she is feeling no parent should ever have to go through it , I know this happened awhile ago but I hope god helps her through the pain

USPS will never be made obsolete because you must have a physical address in order to get a passport, a loan, a driver's license, a bank account, medical care, or a credit card.
So you really don't know what you're talking about. Doxxing is a social media thing on Twitter or Facebook. It has no meaning outside those silly websites. This judge wasn't doxxed on social media or by the U.S. Postal Service.

I feel so bad for her. Im convinced this guy wasn't just some madman, she must've been targeted bc of her work.
Another commenter wrote that the shooter was a lawyer who "had terminal cancer and was righting the wrongs he perceived done to him. He killed another [attorney] before getting to Salas, he had a list of 12 people on him when he killed himself, 3 of those were other judges." I'd read this in the news soon after the shooting.
