AA’s are going to Africa, while Africans are willing to do anything to make it to the U.S. AA’s need continue moving forward and stop looking backwards. Realize that you have privilege being an American and take advantage of everything America gives to you for FREEEEEE. They slack off in America thinking running to Africa is going to comfort them then they are hit in the face with reality.

Blaming Black Americans who make up less than 1% of the Ghanaian population is Ridiculous! Ghanaians are very welcoming and don’t force foreigners to adapt to their ways. The people of Ghana only ask expats to RESPECT the country and culture, which the MAJORITY of African Americans do! Trust me if you come with a superiority complex, Ghana will HUMBLE you FAST! Ghana is a great place to live and vacation 🇬🇭

A saw relatively large group of Indians in Ghana. More Indians are moving into Ghana. Indians aren’t known for their love and respect for Black people. African Super Star is right in the sense that Ghana’s demographic is changing with the increase of non Blacks. The richest Ghaniani is a non-black person, which is a disgrace. The non-blacks are there for early financial opportunities. Where I disagree with her is the fact that, foreign blacks do not have to become Ghanaians because they are living or doing business in Ghana. Many other non-blacks are and were in Ghana for a very long time. No one is forcing those non-blacks to integrate into Ghanaian culture. Those people are using the money made in Ghana to invest in the West or send their kids to the best schools in the West.

We had colonialism and genocides in many countries across this continent, so we know what white supremacy and imperialism is. It's our own history too. The Ghanaian government MUST set standards to protect native Ghanaian and other blacks who migrated to Ghana from racism and financial exploitation. We CANNOT allow Caucasians who prevented blacks from moving into their communities in America & Europe to come to Ghana and practice their WICKED ways in Ghana. Black Americans who migrated to Ghana MUST educate the natives. When I was 9 years old (1963)in the Caribbean I saw black Americans marching off a bridge in Alabama and was beaten with batons by the police, water hosed by the fire department, and bitten by the police dogs. To this day there is OPEN violence against blacks by the police and the Hillbillies, yet their people want to follow us into OUR countries as though their presence is WANTED. The Ghanaian government and its people MUST monitor non-black immigrants to ensure they are not being racist to our people and that they are not exploiting them financially.

And there’s a sense of helping the divides that she just said the westerns that are traveling there to “monitor” and surveil as diaspora repatriates, are doing. “Connecting” happens in many ways, familiar assumptions can become MORE roadblocks; as allowing the components of gentrification can do as well. So, perhaps the diaspora that she’s referring, is in fact trying to contribute in significant ways, but the lack of “gatekeeping” and direct support, may deter.. 🤔 Fruitful. From NYC, love to all. Some portion seem to want the locals who are struggling themselves to create a life for them. And not even one where they contribute. I don't understand why you wouldn't want to build up a country you've chosen to live in. If you don't want to do that then you're just going to have to settle with living in an apartment or hotel and paying till you maybe run of money of find some kind of job and make it work. Other people can't live your life for you. It's wild to me that some would expect some kind of welfare system from the local people in third world countries instead of building together and having everyone succeed. Some of these people want everything built and already made. Basically zero to no contribution to where they live. The reality is, Africa does thing right, and a lot of things bad, and as an American and traveler, and when you have experience and world perspective, it can and will be frustrating, especially when the simplest things to you, are extremely difficult or they don't exist at all. The other issue, is competition and possibly people having more attention than they are use to and becoming territorial, within those community which will lead to the creation of a toxic environment. Africa is for the Africans. Everyone else had to adjust to the level of the community they are on or visiting or pay for the comfort that does exist, but not for everyone. Africa has many levels and many spaces, good, to great, explore, and find yours if you intend on staying, and of course have the means to do so, but keep. and open mond and a open pocket, because there's a cost, and most of the time it's unreasonable, but the trade-off is the African experience and the spark of imagination of what it could be, because you come from a place that's better, but, you come to Africa because it's different. It's a choice, and sometimes a privilege, and if you have the means, simply enjoy the experiences, the inconveniences, the challenges, and know that you're alive, and we'll, "This is Africa"! Be safe, be smart, be courteous, and respectful of the cultures that you interact with. 😊

I've been in Ghana for the most part since my first stay in 2012. Ghana is home-both my kids were born and live here. This sistar is pretty accurate on everything, and since the YoR, I've had my fears of not only non-blacks coming to GH, but also certain Diasporans coming over and bringing certain baggage: attitudes & behaviors. Given the state of the world, the exodus is inevitable, and I think it's VERY important for the Diaspora to reconnect with source, but it's a procees of integration that needs to be attended to and it shouldn't just happen in one location. Exciting times nonetheless...
Oh and it's SO GOOD to hear y'all talk about the Slavery tourism. Though I've unfortunately in my earlier years have had to visit the slave castles, I now refuse to visit and advocate for the castles to be demolished and replaced with a memorial, if that.

The African diaspora from the Americas are a unique tribe and should be treated that way. Ghana is made up of many tribes and the diaspora is just one more tribe made up of subdivisions.
It will take time to assimilate and understand each other.
In Africa tribes have lived to together for centuries and still have problems with each other.
So the Diaspora is like a child and need to acclimatises and will with time as they grow within Ghana.
We have to accept each other's cultures and live in harmony as the west wants to eradicate Africans from thier countries.

I noticed also that it seems other black people don't mind that it happens to Nigerians either.
