Thank you so much, sisters, for talking about this. All we hear is the one-sided narrative of Ghanaians being this and that against AAs and hardly any mention of the disrespect and mistreatment of AAs to Ghanaians. Wrong is wrong regardless of who does it and we should be willing to call out anyone, Ghanaian or American, who misbehaves.

Hopefully, there's enough of us sensible people. That contain our brothers and sisters coming from the West. And explain to them how to behave. And I really appreciate this show. And the topic you're bringing up. Because it's getting the word out and I'm sure the people in Ghana appreciated too. Please keep up the good work. Hope to see you once I get over there.

This is what I have been afraid of for a long time. This is what exactly our fore fathers did in Liberia and look at what happened. The Americo Liberians thought they were better than the indegines they met there. We all know what happened and is happening now. Thank God unlike the Liberians in that era,Ghanaians are educated and well traveled. That kind of nonsense will not wash in Ghana. The idea that when they come here they want to stay in their own community is very bad.How will they assimilate? After all they lived together in the US and see what happens. Thanks.

This video brings tears to my eyes. Oh, how we love that our brothers and sisters who have been away from the land to return because this land belongs to you too. Let’s dwell together in peace as a family. And, one important step towards this goal to have the hard conversations like this one. RESPECT is a quintessential core value in the Ghanaian culture and when it is abused, it creates almost irreparable damage and consequences in the society. Please, do whatever it may take to cultivate and practice mutual respect among your brothers and sisters in Ghana. Make Ghana a proud home and a better place for all. It is not perfect and nowhere is. As for the land issue, it affects everyone in the country. It is huge problem not only for brothers and sisters returning home but those already living in Ghana. I hope you all can bring some creativity and innovative solutions to the problem. This is your homeland. Help build it for ourselves and our children!

Land is vested in the chiefs who are custodians of the land, so if you want to buy a land do your visibility studies on land commission to find who owns the land. There are obviously bad nuts and people with bad intentions who are to no good. Most African Americans are prideful and arrogant and domineering. Ghana has cool people and love everyone. The people who are coming to Ghana should be humble and not take advantage of people

I’m a Ghanaian living in America, getting ready to move back home, one thing I have noticed about the American living in Ghana, some are so funny, because they think the little dollars they bring makes them better than Ghanaians, but we all know they are broke in America, they save a little money and come back to Ghana to show off, they are not rich or better than Africans citizens. Stop your nonsense

    • @oseiosei6649

What you just said is exactly how most Ghanaians who live abroad in the United States, Canada, or Europe behave.
Most of the Ghanaians that are living abroad in these European countries and America are struggling with their 2-3 jobs.
But when they are ready to visit Ghana, they will save up as much money as they can; and come to Ghana to flaunt and show off the little riches they have in their pockets in front of us local Ghanians. Giving us, and the Ghanaian youths, the impression that they are living large and are big boss in America or Europe. This also gives the false narrative and impression to our Ghanaian youths that the only way to make money, the only way to be successful in life is to travel to America or Europe, and most of the time the youth take the back dangerous and deadly way. But not knowing that this Ghanaian men or women who have only 2 weeks vacation in Ghana from his/her job, is struggling financially to make ends meet in America or Europe . But they will not tell you or let you know that they are struggling abroad because they have to keep up that fake facade, that fake persona of being rich in the white man’s country for as long as possible.

I know you will be successful in Africa with the mindset you have.
I believe this conversation is a topic that needs to be talked about it is a an developing problem but fortunately only in certain parts of ghana as the diaspora from America tend to move to the same place like cape coast and some coastal areas in Tema these problems are not found in kumasi volta region or northern ghana people, people from the carribean tend to assimilate easily into the local population.
People who don’t adopt the Ghanaian way of living and get along with the locals have a shelf life and end up going home after a few years blaming all thier issues on Ghanaians ( i am not saying they cannot be part of the problem)
What people need to remember this migration to Ghana is not a new thing the trend started under kwame Nkrumah no one documented it on social media and the infrastructure they met and the problems they faced and the colonial mindset they had to challenge was worse than today, and like today it will be a natural selection survival of the fittest. The fittest being the people who are there for the right reasons,

On the part of the locals the reaction to any attitude/disrespect may come up as being immediately called out, noting any crass behavior & the whole community finally getting to know to avoid person seen as toxic, etc.

The Culture clash becomes evident in many ways. Attitudes on both sides don't help. Africans generally idolize African Americans and see them as better off and I'm some ways "superior. This can easily get to some people heads. On the hand you have some who see
African Americans as inferior because of history.
People need to learn and unite. Just as there were some Africans involved in the tradeof people into Slaves,We have had people released from Slavery come back to Africa and become slave traders themselves and resettled people from Slavery taking over from the native Africans and establishing rule over them. Both sides have gone through negative expériences and suspicion. With the land issue, there is a distorted perception. Ghanaians both at home and abroad have the same issues. In fact there are more Ghanaians who lose a lot of money in Land purchases. We need to educate ourselves and look at mutual ways of healing and helping each other in finding our place under the sun

    • @oseiosei6649
      @oseiosei6649 9 месяцев назад

Totally 💯 agree with you. We have been taught through our school system that European came to Ghana and civilized us Ghanaian; that inferiority complex mindset is so ingrained in Ghanaians that even in 2024 we still have lawyers and judges still wearing the European colonial wigs. These Ghanaian lawyers and judges really believe that they can’t do their judicial duty well if they don’t have on the white man’s wig. They really believe that the brains and minds of the white man are in those wigs that is why they can’t let go of it.
We Ghanians have been trained and programmed that whatever comes outside from Ghana is better that what we have in Ghana.
Ghanaians bow down to white people, Chinese people, Lebanese people, and every other foreigner that comes to Ghana and to exploit the Ghanaians.
I am happy, joyful that there are diasporas that have decided to move Ghana, but Ghanaians should not belittle themselves, should not have the inferiority complex mindset that they are beneath the diaspora, especially Black Americans.
We should all do our best to respect and support each other and try to make Ghana and Africa the best place on earth for Black/African people all around the world.

I've heard both sides from AA about Ghanaians and now I'm hearing you all's side concerning AA. Please remember ladies that the changes on both sides from slavery/ colonialism. Maybe something should be put into place four a smoother transition. One thing I do 👀 is once again the white man got away! We didn't ask to be taken nor enslaved and the truth is our own people sold us to the white man. You ladies sound very American and many Africans live here in America and still look down on us, behave ugly in the U.S. so yes there should be prayers and supplications made to the MOST HIGH GOD YACHAVEH & YESHUA. Seek HIS face and HE'LL give ALL the correct answers because I'm still hearing hate but thanks for sharing YOUR OPINION.❤❤

I agree that African Americans shouldn't go to another country and treat others with disrespect; however, some things need to be addressed. Also, so what if African American women want to dress in extravagant African attire? Who are we to sit and judge, turn our noses up, and say, 'Yeah, they're American'? Sistah, please!
Regarding the young lady who was speaking to the workers rudely, I do agree she should've been more respectful. At the same time, they should have brought their ladder. She probably spent money on her furniture, and even if she didn't, that doesn't give somebody the right to come and stand on a client’s furniture to do a job.

When I get over there, I plan to bring enough pennies to make sure. I bless all my workers well If someone works for me, they're gonna get a meal A soda as well as a tip and a sincere thank you. But let's be fair. The white folks is over there with the same bs. 2 and nobody's talking about it. But we expect that from them. We shouldn't have the same thing going. Among our community. Cause basically we're all one people. Look at us some of us. You can't tell apart except for the accent.

I'm sure a good number of African Americans mean good for Africa but the bad apples will not be allowed to destroy our continent, it's sad to hear that but they will just make their stay so difficult. The government of Ghana should have as well not promised something they don't have. Why should they offer land to Americans whilst many Ghanaian don't have land? I don't think you will find free land anywhere in Africa to be honest.

I don't think there is any chance of this happening. Americans are spoiled, and to most Americans , being without certain things that would be basic for Americans, is unacceptable to most of us. Americans hate discomfort and most couldn't do it for love or money. I admire these women for being able to assimilate into Ghana successfully, I know I probably could not live a day without air conditioning or cable....or Netflix. One must be dedicated to the change in lifestyle. Kudos to those who can.

There’s going to be lots of distractions from entitled diasporas but we need to keep our eyes on the prize. We need to focus on developing Africa for us by us.
The good Lord gave black people the land of Africa with countless precious minerals and bountiful arable land. It’s time to do appropriate and applicable technology transfer back to Africa to accelerate development especially by African Americans.
