Believe it or not, this and Tommy the Cat are fairly easy to sing over because of the continuous 16th notes. It’s rhythm that makes for difficult singing/playing. I know it sounds weird but Walking On The Moon is harder.

This is my favorite warmup and comfort song to practice on bass. I've practiced it hundreds of times at this point and memorize every tiny bit of the whole song. But the excersise it gives my hands on the stuff I want to create is just too good

Ayyyyeeee John the fisherman!! Awesome! Thanks for doing more Claypool baselines. Just gonna put this out there, learning how to play “one better” or “lust strings” or anything on whales of woe or stuff from the Lennon Claypool delerium would be awesome. Long story short: MORE CLAYPOOL!!!!

A good tip for a cut finger (no pun intended) is to pinch the wound closed and seal it with superglue. I've had to do this pre gig a couple of times.

The 4th note (1st fingerpicked note after chords) is DEFINITELY a G not a G#/Ab. Everyone plays this wrong because the tab on the internet is wrong.
Watch any video of Les playing it, or play along with the record and you'll hear the G# clashes.
    The rest is right though.

this song indeed is painful, but its not my pinky itself that hurts, its the part below my pinky on the side of fretting my hand down to my wrist (i guess the muscle is called abductor digiti minimi)
i would say american life is more draining though and just makes my hand feel tired and sore
