Nice video! It’s shame this crossing will be history soon. The pedestrian crossing at Blackheath station is also on death row with lifts being installed there soon. Fantastic photos of the original signals! If only I was around then lol.
Nice video, the Western Cullen Hayes ebells sound amazing! Interesting to see what it's been through. This must be the only pedestrian level crossing on it's own in NSW to have Western Cullen Hayes ebells. Shame this pedestrian level crossing is being removed though.
Very interesting history of the crossing, I very much enjoyed the old photos at the end. I'd never seen what Elliots Road looked like prior to the overpass being built. I wasn't aware that it was still there until 1989, I would have thought it'd been removed long prior to that, so that was interesting to learn. I'm assuming the overpass was built as part of the Northern Distributor (Memorial Drive) construction? My Oma used to live in Fairy Meadow, and I clearly remember going over that bridge in the car and getting the "stomach dropping" feeling as we went down the other side. I wasn't aware that Fairy Meadow had a goods siding either, so that was interesting as well.
Thanks! Yes the overpass was built for the Northern Distributor, otherwise the crossing would probably still be there today. The crossing was also an "experience" to drive over as it was pretty rough, being just made from sleepers and asphalt :)
Didn't know that either, thanks for sharing! That'll give me something to model in the future. Looking forward to seeing more crossings, and old photos.
so this pedestrian crossing as e bells instead of alarms. Kinda somewhat similar to another pedestrian crossing I've seen on RUclips before. I noticed some graffiti on the EMU car at 12:48 It's also neat you basically saw the same freight train twice! I'm surprised the bases for the old road crossing are still visible 17:15 That's a neat-looking pedestrian crossing! Do any similar examples still survive?
There are several other pedestrian crossings with e-bells. There are some pedestrian crossings surviving with GRS semaphore gates but none in that exact configuration.
Great video! It would have been great to see the original gated signals and original pedestrian signals, But this current setup is ok, better than yoda alarms (:
Shame to see the crossing phased out with lifts. But I fully understand that they're trying to keep crossing fatalities to a minimum by eliminating certain crossings and modernizing those that have no gates
Great video and crossing! Do have to wonder why they chose to go with WCH e-bells here.
Thanks! I think maybe the WCH e-bells were a trial of this setup, hasn't been done at any new installations since.
Great video and crossing!
Thanks!

Thanks! I did hear something about Blackheath getting lifts soon. The original signals here were nice, just wish I could have filmed them too.
Love the old pictures.
Thanks :)

Where are they at? Also what crossings are you uploading next?
@@jacktherailwayenthusiast3343 they're at Zig Zag and Wondabyne. Next upload Maldon NSW.
Nice video! I remember filming this crossing.
Thanks :)
Great vid!
Thanks :)
You're welcome

Great Video, I noticed you caught the same 81’s twice, I also prefer the old crossing
Thanks, I also prefer the old crossing.

Thanks! The original signals certainly were nice, and I agree about the WCH e-bells being nicer than alarms :)
Could you upload your level crossing pictures of the Pinnaroo level crossing to Flickr and you could do some others as well?
Great Video!
Thanks :)

Yes, they have a policy of no new pedestrian crossings and eliminate as many as they can.
hmm i wonder why they use e bell
