The first time I saw this musical number I was in history class. The teacher put the video for us and the whole class found it cringey and made bad jokes. The professor felt quite sad about it, but it honestly sparked something in me. Now I'm studying performing arts and it's probably mostly thanks to this.
I felt this what happen with me … my dad put this on vhs 89 or 90 … I was not having it… fast forward now… it’s def a classic..
Well then you better tell that professor what you told us! It could’ve ruined their day, week, or year to share something they loved with their class of kids and have them make fun of it; I hope you let them know it was worth it!

it is creepy but that was the Weimar Republic (which is celebrated in the zio media). Berlin was full of drugs and rich men paying for young German prostitutes.
@@kaposipal Michael Yorke is bisexual in Cabaret and sleeps around. it is actually a very gross movie. I'm surprised they let their guard down the by making it but most people miss this aspect.
My parents had the soundtrack on tape so I listened to it as a kid many times before I actually saw the movie. This song was my favorite on the tape and I’d listen to it over and over

My favorite song as a child was, Drink! Drink! Drink!, sung by none other than Mario Lanza in The Student Prince. My mother would fuss every time I played it. It was not until just recently that ever saw that part of the movie.

This iconic scene MUST be one of the best EVER in films. They both deserved the academy award they received even if for this scene only.
We had a talent show at school when I was in the 4th grade. This is the song I preformed! I drug my chair out to the middle of the stage in my best Sally Boles costume and got to the “man by man” lyric when I heard the Principal screaming No!!! I was carried off the stage and had no idea what was wrong with my choice of song!!! Yep I really did that!! 😂

Великолепная сцена, исполненная с изумительным актёрским талантом и, что очень важно, с чувством стиля эпохи, проявленного в движениях, костюмах, гриме (особенно в мужском). Сколько лет тому фильму, а смотрится все с тем же восторгом. По актёрскому мастерству сравнима лишь с танцевальными сценами фильма "В джазе только девушки" (как назывался фильм при русском дубляже). Блеск!!!
