    As a kid I taught myself to shoot left-handed because of Dave Cowens. He was a hero. His high block turnaround jumper was money. Loved those 70s Celtics.

    Was somewhat shocking to learn Johnny Most has not been inducted into the NBA HOF. He was the Celtics announcer from 1953-1990. He called some of the team's greatest games.

    • @NBAHistoryCLNS
      @NBAHistoryCLNS  Год назад +1

      He’s in the Kurt Goudy wing of Naismith HOF. But unlike Chick Hearn, Johny has no placement in the BASKETBALL HOF. The diff between the 2 is, chick was technically a part of the Lakers front office but Considering the fact that BOTH chick & johny called more iconic plays than any other voices in history PLUS the hand they both had in popularizing the struggling sport via RADIO makes it shameful that Johny doesn’t sit along side chick in the Hall. Thx for the thoughtful comment. 🙂

    60% under is 38% beyond the arc. Good centers are still valuable . And cowens jumpers from the elbows at 57 % is still. Valuable. . Offensive rebounds are one of the 4 factors.; with out the inside game the outside game is less effective. In his day it was the. Opposite. Dave earned every cent the hard way.

    Dave and the Celtics should have had at least 2 more championships. If John Havlicek doesnt injure his shoulder in 1973 playoffs, Boston's wins that one. The best record in the NBA, record for most wins. And IMO the 3 point line SUCKS! It's ruined the game.
