These fans are a lifesaver! I ran my car with no fan on 20/46 and it got so hot and threw my ESC into a critical error! Luckily, got a new ESC back from Traxxas and these fans keep my car cool, never gets above 130 degrees :)
Still going good? I just ordered these fan cause I fried my motor.. I put a first gen mamba combo 2200kv in it ... Just ordered yr fans wanna run 19/46 but is that safe for bashing and some speed runs
@@dimitrissx8022 usually when the motor fry's the ESC is fried as well Traxxas replaced both of mine under warranty there was really no reason for it to fry I was on grass with stock gearing I'm starting to think it might be an issue with the ESC cooking the motor I'm not sure. @@samjohnson517 I will run it stock and ofc as every beginner I'm spooked of lipos hope the Traxxas battery charger and batteries are foot because I was thinking of the 3s 5000mah ones
I hear people have been having good results running a 18 tooth pinion with the stock 54 tooth spur gear but I have never tried it, you could probably go a little higher on the pinion but just watch the heat.
Great, thanks. I took mine out for the first time today and the gearbox and moter were dumb hot even after I walked it home and let it sit so I don't think I'll go higher then 18/54. Thanks for your input mate.
This gearing is nice but not good for ripping and running. I tried mine today with no fan and boy did it get hot! So I’m going to gear it down. Definitely fast!!!
So have you did a full throttle run with it? And if so what was the top speed I’m thinking of doing this set up and I’m hoping to hit at least 65. Oh and nice hit with the trash can I did that the other week at full speed and broke the bulkhead bent the axle shaft and the toe link lol so I don’t recommend hitting those fast 🤣🤣
I know that was a bummer lol I hit 59 with the 20/46 gears but I think it had more in it then I just went 55 in my other video with 18/46 but that was pretty much with a blown tire. I put the 20 tooth pinion back in I'm going to try to do a run tomorrow if the weather is decent.
I know im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost the account password. I love any tips you can offer me

Hello I don't use Traxxas link I just bought a cheap $15 temp gun. If you want that thing to move change the gearing go 18/46 or 20/46, changing the gearing is night and day. And I assume you are running 6s.. you should be all smiles after that.

@@jcallesano oh yeah! I've been bashing on 18/46 gears perfect for off-road, plenty of torque 59mph top end you have to try it you won't go back just get the Traxxas 18 tooth pinion 46 tooth spur and put fans on to keep it cool ( I would put fans on even if you left the stock gears) the 20/ 46 is okay but I like the bottom end of the 18/46 better the E-Revo 2.0 was way to tame on stock gears.
@@samjohnson517 what's the last sentence? Too easy to tame? If so, id agree. Im almost bored with it already....Been a week since I got it. It's pretty easy just remove that piece of plastic they have in that sets the pinion clearance. I set it by feel but you can stick a piece of paper in between the gears if and push the gears together and tighten it down. turn the gears to various points and keep rocking the spur back and forth making sure you have some clearance because some gears are slightly out of round. You may have plenty of clearance on one side of the gear but then not on the other.

I added dual motor fans but need a temp gun before summer, how hot does 130 feel to the touch? I imagine pretty hot but not quite hot enough to burn?
