Bruh !! I have to wait 2 more years to get mine....... I'm starting to regret this decision . Wish Honda would of told people It wouldn't be easy to get them. Great work by the way.
Thank you so much Phil for all your videos, tutorials and everything you do for the automotive world. Arguably the 🇨🇵Alpine A110R and the new 🇯🇵Honda Civic Type R are the most efficient Track Days compacts right now?
Thank you for watching, we're happy to see you're enjoying our content! And, the FL5 is a natural progression from the FK8, which was already a beast on track days, so we imagine that is a pretty accurate statement!
Loving the content. I dont wanna sound cheeky but here i wanna ask the same question about the paintjob again. Is still not perfect on the red paint? Its metallic or are they still selling the red paint as uni? Its call rally red again. So its a uni color right? What do you say? is it any better than your crystal black pearl? Please lets be honest. The Fk8 Paintjobs in pearl/metallic weren't the best as we know.
They’d make even more if we mapped them in, we expect about a 30hp+ increase after mapping, especially as they’re Mugen deflectors! 😆 Thanks for watching!
Hey Phil very interesting to see that and that the FL5 is making more power than what Honda claims. Looking forward to seeing what you do with your FL5 Great content from Dream look forward to seeing more
@@BrzBoyz831 not sure about that, drag races between the 2 aren't conclusive. Keep times are heavily skewed towards the FL5. I wanted to know the difference in actual hp, was it more than 10?
@@alsayedfakhri4597 288-290 to the wheels for the fl5 is what I heard from most fl5 owner. They don’t make 315 whp like the factory say 🫢 315 to the crank maybe.

Is the power listed higher for the UK? In the US it's listed at 315hp/310tq
Out of interest did you ever dyno a stock FK8 to see if that produced more power than Honda stated.
Believe they did and it produced more!
5-15 hp more i heard.

Nostalgia from when I fitted wind deflectors to my DC2 back in 2005.
Nice video Phil

In theory, window visors added 15hp

Sick soundtrack.
Out of interest what fuel are you using for the Dyno tests?
Race fuel ⛽️ 💪🏻🤣
99 Octane Shell V power was used in this car! 💪
That's what my butt dyno says as well. It felt like there's more than what Honda rated them at.
Your butt dyno must be calibrated well then! 😁
The tightness of the rope will affect the horsepower result. It might have 20hp gap. :)

Yeah it’s a pleasant surprise for us too!
Thanks for watching David!
Enjoy this fl5 videos
Install of rear seat cover video on the way?
What mods are you planning to do on this gen?
great video.
Thanks for watching! 😁
It would be nice to know the mileage on both engines.
This car had just ticked over 600 miles, our was a little less when it first went on the dyno.
Both using 99 octane fuel
Could be your dyno out of calibration too....
What's WHP? These numbers look like adjusted not actual whp like a mustang dyno
That's the point. They're trying to figure out if the engine is what Honda says it's rated at, or lower, or higher. WHP says nothing about that...
How does this compare to a stock FK8?
Unfortunately fk8 is slightly faster than fl5 due to better top end and a tad lighter. 😂

So in the real world not more than the FK8? Interesting.
Thanks for the video.
The way the car moves forward over rollers makes me uncomfortable!
Why are you showing flywheel hp? We want to see the wheel hp.
Because they're trying to figure out if the engine is what Honda says it's rated at, or lower, or higher. WHP numbers would say nothing about that...
in europe we always measure HP and a modern dyno does whp as well
