Fun fact, the commentator in this match Jeff Blatnik was one of the original UFC commentators starting around UFC 13 or so. He was also an Olympic wrestler himself. He passed away from cancer not long ago.

Every decision he took is a part of his legacy. He chose a money fight as the reward with a risk of getting a black mark on his legacy. Now that it backfired, you can't just pretend something did not happen.

My son sorta wrestled like a Askren type. He’d reach back put his head on the mat. His rubbery style while wrestling threw the other guy off. My son was very flexible and that threw many wrestlers off. My son wrestled in HS and made it and won a few and lost a few in the State tourney. Fun to watch.
