I would love to see more from this series. So many videos that try to show how to do something, don't. This is very clear and well explained and paced. Thank you.
I'm proud to say Ben Askren is from Wisconsin. He seems like a terrific person. Great video for all the young wrestlers out there.
I think he should also show all those young aspiring wrestlers his Masvidal fight and why they should think twice about this guys advice
Basics of a 25 minute fight is to last more than 5 seconds. Take lessons and learn from those guys. My advice to anyone entering wrestling who really wants to learn, is to watch khabib and the young people train in dagestan, not this dude.
@@evan5045ur a fool
@@evan5045you are a wrestling casual, ben askren is a better wrestler than fighter and is known for being a funk style wrestler. Also watching Russians doesn’t do jack shit learning folkstyle moves they train predominantly freestyle you would’ve known that if you actually knew what you were talking about.
My man is rocking David Spade's- Joe Dirt, "business in the front and party in the back" hairdo!! lol
Solid,vid.Askren is a great teacher
Great series.
Excellent production and it's assisting me in showing my MS wrestler what "right" looks like.
👍
What about the PennState cradle where the one hand is holding the opponents arm and the other hand is grabbing your own wrist?
Crossface cradle
remember - none of those shenanigans
Hope next video he can show us how to deal with a running flying knee from 20 ft away
Bro that’s messed up fr
Where did you place at the NCAA tournament?
Last time you tried a cradle you were unconscious stiff. Show us a basic technique that avoids a flying knee when you go for a take down. Explain what you would do in that same position differently and you'll gain everyones respect and sell bundles of books and be able to afford a decent barber
It's a wrestling tutorial. He runs wrestling academies. It doesn't concern MMA. I admit he may have been a somewhat overrated MMA fighter but he was and is an excellent wrestler.
@@karlbauer2958 Fair enough, well he's got his reputation and recognition from MMA and boxing fails. No1 knew his name when he was no#1 wrestler or his accomplishments. If your only wanting to be a wrestler best off joining WWE to support a family and make a career from it. Not bring it to the worlds stage of combat and make it look ineffective. No1 knew BJJ until it was brought to the world stage by gracie family as an effective martial art that beat up the bigger opponents without rules nor weight classes 3 times in 1 night. A 180 pound man defeated 300+ pound wrestlers n brawlers twice his size and weight all night. This bum can't last 5 seconds in safer circumstances with same attributes. Nonsense
@@karlbauer2958 I agree any gym or discipline is great to get involved in for health and well-being. But if kids are under the illusion this guys advice will pay their bills or protect them in life then I rather point out some things that opposes his philosophies and teachings and how many are training techniques that actually have productivity and potential of real success in life not in high school gym classes
Nurmagomadov family is the Gracie family of wrestling, the Askrin awesomeness academy of wrestling isn't an academy I'd be in any hurry to advise anyone to attend who's over the age of 12 or they'll probably lose their lunch money on the way home aswell as their parents dollar's in gym membership fees going straight into this guys bank account
@@evan5045 you bring up some really good points. I am curious what your wrestling achievements are. I mean, Hodge Trophies are a dime a dozen.
