I legit thought gigguk is going to explain some fucking optics
lmao
Ik, I was so confused when I saw the thumbnail.
The Boys brought me here. Nice video!
thank you!, if you like this one check out some of my other videos, like this one about the strong force ruclips.net/video/FL3ImtGcHqQ/видео.html
This is a nice introduction to the topic. Not too simple, not too in-depth. Good video!
The whole ether arc felt like filler but I liked the plot twist that Newton was right all along
It wasn't filler, it was important to establish the importance of accepting the evidence and abandon your expectations, which was a setup for the climax of the "Particle-wave duality arc"
Also, Newton wasn't right, because he didn't imagine that light could have wave-like properties. If anything he was half right, as was Fresnel and Huygens and all the others who defended the wave theory
And thank _you_. That was highly entertaining. You have such an energy.

You are by far my favorite science youtuber. I really enjoy the comedy bits and i truly appreciate your reconstruction of how modern ideas came about historically, for me that's the only way to really understand what they are all about.
Thank you so much. For me history is also the best way to learn science, it reminds you that this is a human story, full of mistakes, and that being wrong is important
Great video!! I've always loved the History of Light, it's my favourite arch in the anime!
I think the Symmetries Arc is better. Murray and Hideki are my favorite characters
👉Absolutely fantastic as always.
Maybe it is just that you just happen to be teaching at just the right level for me to feel so relaxed and engaged at the same time, but I'd like to think it's the actual quality of your content.
You again manage to word so many concepts I've struggled to really get a good grasp on the basic idea (im not a scientist. I just like science education instead of netflix, I guess). I get fascinated, humbled, have a laugh, and learn something new with every one of your videos. Keep doing what you are doing. ❤
This comment could have been shorter, but I'm not a professional commenter either. 🤘

Great. Now I am picturing Light as the scoobydoo villain, who is - as the mask is finally removed - revealed to be wearing another mask below it. And then another, and another, and so on - alternating between particle and wave, both being plain old trollfaces with the text in boldface written on it.
I'm pretty sure that 440Hz is A and not Ab

Wait, did they mention me?
Edit: They don't, they mention the conversation I was responding to. I really hope they see this video one day
@@HighlyEntropicMind They mentioned this video and showed the thumbnail
@@HighlyEntropicMindthey do! They even named your channel and this video! That’s why I’m here rn! 😁
I don’t have the time stamp but thank mudan! He put up the graphic in the video

I would love to share your videos with others but I don't have friends
=(, thanks anyway
Ever see "Cassiopeia Project QED?" Its an old 20 min video based on a famous Feynman lecture.
6:46 only problem I have so far is that the speed of light isn’t really constant in my working experience. Yes, the MAX speed limit for light is INDEED constant, however the speed of light through different media (like fiber optic glass, air, and water) drastically diminishes that speed. Just a little nitpick, correct me if I’m misunderstanding something 😅
you are right, the speed depends on the medium, I meant "the speed of light in the vacuum"
@@HighlyEntropicMind figured as much! Just being a stickler 😅
You should have added "a violinist" to the description of Einstein. (Nice video.)
I always try to add little details to humanize them, and this is often difficult because I can't find information about them outside their work. Of course this wasn't a problem in the case of Einstein, but I'm happy you noticed it anyway

I would like you to talk more about the EM wave representation shown at 11:24. I've heard on multiple accounts the two waves were linked and perpendicular, but also phase shifted 90 degrees apart. The crest of the Electric wave's intensity would coincide with the zero crossing of the Magnetic wave. Is this true?
Yes, it is true, that's how light works. If you want to learn more I recommend you read "Introduction to electrodynamics" by David J Griffiths
Came here from the trash taste award show. Lol
3:55 440Hz is an A though right not an A flat
25:41 but wait a minute, don’t black holes have rings of light around them?
they have rings of hot gas which glows, but not light
@@HighlyEntropicMind ahhhhh
Can you clarify what you mean at 25:12? You seem to be saying that mass of an object A that is orbiting another object B affects the speed that object A needs in order to be in orbit around object B. I don't think that is true?? The orbital velocity equation is sqrt(GM/R) where M is the mass of the object B (the object at the center of the system), not of object A (the object that is orbiting). It is known that light can orbit black holes, although those orbits are unstable. This seems like a very simple and obvious oversight that I wonder if I'm misunderstanding the point you were trying to make. In any case, I love your videos... can't wait for the QFT2 video to drop! Please take your time though and don't skimp on those animations! Quality over quantity!!!
When you work out the velocity needed to have a stable orbit you indeed find that the mass of the object doesn't matter, as you mentioned, and there are many possible orbits at different speeds
But since light has zero mass and only one speed, it turns out it can have only one possible orbit, and any deviation from that launches it away, so it's unstable, as you mentioned
However, while the speed to be in orbit doesn't depend on the mass, the energy an object needs to reach that speed does depend on the mass, and that's what I wanted to say, but you are right, I didn't explain it well enough
can't light sometimes orbit blackholes?
It's like balancing a pencil on its tip. It's technically possible, but it's so unstable that in practice it never happens
8:56 but...isn't earth also moving through the electromagnetic field and we still do not experience "wind"😮
Good point! This movement does cause a change in the light, but not in its speed, rather it changes its color. If light is moving towards us it looks bluer, if it moves away it looks redder. This is how we discovered that the universe is expanding
Energy state is "waeving" (flow of energy)👀ツ
==>
Not detailed description but it should be "start point" to develop understanding of this aspect of physic
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My man if it's an sarcasm then its ok for you to call them out but your misunderstanding bois
This vid is a clear example of an audio-decibels-mess! Your audience can`t be constantly worried about when to suddenly jump to the volume button to prevent an explosion! Please adjust all the clips in the video so they have the same AUDIO DECIBEL LEVELS! Use a compressor if needed! If you are familiar with visualizing waves then it would be super obvious when the amplitude kicks in and drops. Your bits are waaaay lower than the clips of the yt channel you're quoting. Annoying
Yeah yeah, I know
The audio of that loud dude being at 3000% made me have to turn this video off. Sorry, I was really excited to see it. Basically a repeated jump scare if you're in an intellectual mindset :/
Mate you don't know who gigguk is
@@user-mi5ll9kr9h Is he the person in charge of normalizing the audio between two sources?
I agree. He needs to work more on his audio
@@skhotzim_bacon it’s normal in the episode not in this video
