Not easy to stay in "anime" character while working, and it's true: that works best in Nihon-go. However, if there was a 'pinyin' version of Japanese in general use, very many more people could learn basic Japanese; enough to, say, visit Misa-san & Tera-chan and communicate a little in spoken Japanese
