Including this one I've been working on 3 different videos over the past few weeks. The other 2 have required me to practice some stuff every day in order to be able to capture the footage (which I haven't been able to do yet). The next one should be out in a week if everything goes according to plan. Thanks for watching!
I realized the other day that I have been subbed to you for over a decade now, ever since your vanilla MvC3 akuma combo video. Thanks for providing me with years of entertainment, and here's to many more.
@@deskcombo my pleasure. You make great and interesting content, and when you're doing videos on the fighting games I'm playing I get to try and steal your cool combos, so really you deserve all the thanks 😂😂
@@emperadorzar2023 Lol go play SF2.. The newer games in series have easier combos, yes but so does KOF. It's all preference at the end of the day. But even SF now, I still wouldn't say it's "the easiest fighting game" not even close. I never understood the perception that hard combos means game is better or harder... That's just one aspect in playing a fighting game.
Love those well defined hit boxes and corner mechanics. Just like what you would expect to happen in a street fight. Except this one is taking place in a super massive black hole
I wish I still had this super old strategy guide from back then that had a bunch of these weird combos, or at least parts of them. Especially the super super deep crossup ones. Because just seeing that again like tickled some part of my memory that hasn't been used in decades. Thank you for this strange nostalgia.
About that Cammy combo at the start, it is possible to link HP into spiral arrow afterwards and it is possible to land it in match if you anti air someone with close MP, you walk under and do close MK. I was able to do it a couple of times but it's stll a very rare situation depending on your opponent level.
I just hope on some machine, somewhere 2 players accidentally pulled these off back then and were like "wtf was that, oh well put another quarter in" good stuff desk!
I have a similar hurricane combo! At least in the SFTurbo for SNes, you can do a weird combo to Zangief by jumping backwards with fierce and immediately doing the roundhouse hurricane kick.
With Chun Li I remember doing quadruple juggle head stomps off tricking Guile player to Flash kick for a dizzy in arcades. Then in early the vesrion of SF2 arcade there was the cheesy Ken/Ryu deep jump in roundhouse buffer into reverse dp uppercut 4 hit re-dizzy combo. When playing Dee Jay I away use to get players with the mk sobat kick cancelled into his super sobat kick.
I realised the other day that you have never done a rainbow edition combo video. Can you imagine what you could do with that game!? Character switch combos would be so cool!
For the first cammy combo can't you do cl HP after the lk and before the spiral arrow? Or did you do it intentionally because the hp side corrects and spiral arrow going the other way looks flashier?
I once did that Akuma combo will vacationing in a rather seedy part of Tokyo. As you dont know who youre playing, I soon realized I had done that to a local Yakuza captain. I didnt know picking Akuma was considered "bad form" and was promptly beaten outside by three men.
These are called cross ups. Where the characters are supposed to change sides but are left facing the other way while the other player can still attack. Its a small glitch that sometimes can work against you or in your favour
"James Chen taught me that you only need 2 hits to make an awesome combo, so I think it's fine." Is this a reference to anything in particular? If so, do you mind explaining? [Or is it just a comment on the general tendencies of James Chen?]

@@bigmillanoent3765 Time, dedication and patience to edit all this content.
Sometimes a 6 hit combo can look better than a 200 hit combo, when you know the difficulty involved. Bravo once again Desk!
I dunno sometimes i just wanna see flashy shit idc if its esay to execute
but SF combos are the easiest to do in fighting games, KOF is superior

unless you are hardcore SF2 who say "every fighting game sucks unlike SF2" like the infamous pigroach called DarkSydePhil
That is sooooo correct and eloquently put!!!!!
Dude...that Guile combo at the start of the video...that is some straight wizardry 🤯
To this day, I’ve still haven’t managed to pull of an invisible throw. My cuz did back in the 90s and it just baffles me even now
The original 90s SF 2 Guile could do all kinds of bizarre stuff. You could freeze opponent an jump around the screen with them frozen.
@@CATH-ju4js the handcuffs glitch lol
@@misterjersey5460 I used to wonder if Guiles upside-down kick was originally a glitch.

the old games like this, especially SF2 are some of my favorite combo videos, connecting the hitboxes in such strange positions
0:22 I did not know you could juggle like this in any version of SF2! This is so cool looking to me!
That’s what I thought, that Chun one made me understand the juggle options in 4 a lot more after seeing that
I appreciate the Use of Fighting Layer Music, that OST (along with the game itself is VERY Underrated)
which song specifically here
@@williamference9221 the song playing for the entirety of the video is Lan's theme from Fighting Layer
And it's genius like all other fg soundtracks made by Arika

Absolut

amazing stuff, as always! That Akuma combo had me tilted.....
SFIV easy inputs ruined my execution going back to SF2. props on another great video.
I see a Desk video. I click. I am never disappointed. I’m a simple man.
I just hope on some machine, somewhere 2 players accidentally pulled these off back then and were like "wtf was that, oh well put another quarter in"
good stuff desk!

That Ryu combo takes me back to the EVO 2009 Ryu Exhibition video.

I have to say, seeing someone get hit from both sides of a Ken tatsu was a real hit of dopamine I didn't see coming.
Awesome SF II as always @Desk. Love it!
That Akuma one made me go "oh hoooo!" out loud when he went back with the diagonal hurricane kick
0:40 even Dhalsim's like, "wait a minute, how"
I’m still trying to figure how that happened
Dhlasim: "Hold up, wait a minute, something ain't right"
i recognize this music from the Fighting Layer soundtrack!!!! that game rules. the lowpoly vibe in it is fantastic
That Ken combo is savage. We call that one "the blender"
That Akuma combo ended very nice.
Too bad it’s boring Akuma

Cool combos, a few friends and I just recently started playing SSF2 Turbo and maxed out star speed and cant play any slower anymore good times 👌🏾
The Chun Li/Sim scene with the burning containers made me LOL
The Ryu , Ken and Akuma ones are mad
the guile-dj sequence is legit nuts

long live the classics !
That first Guile combo would've made me get up from the arcade cabinet and walk away with no explanation.
If I got hit by that Ryu combo I would've legit almost smashed my controller
Still the best! love you desk keep killing it dude!
The Akuma combo was DIABOLICAL

That dee jay pickup is clean

The Lan Yinghua theme playing in the background 😚👌
that ken combo was nasty

This is awesome! It’s like cross-up combos but with bugs lol
Back then there was no such thing as cross ups in the system, players just used it to score a hits.

Stunning!
Desk you are just awesome
hitboxes: more of a guideline, really
so some of these are 100% kill combos? i can’t tell bc it doesn’t always show the amount of hits
In Street Fighter II, Ken's hurricane kick can hit M. Bison multiple times if timed right. It looks about like 6-10 hits
No rare combos here. Just well executed loopholes.
