Yeah some mashes are a juxtaposition of the this and that. Some are matched to the point of making perfect pop music. If money stuff wasn't involved these would be crushing radio. No idea if it's true but in the " moderately" old days I heard that Cher wanted to use the Echo and the Bunnymen/ Cher mash but Ian bunnymen. Was Purdy about it.
Imagine a cover tribute band called Fleetwood Fire, playing the songs of Fleetwood Mac and Earth Wind & Fire. It would perform this mashup and do a beautiful job!
What i'm most impressed with in all your mashups is how you manage to mix it so nothing sounds "wrong".. Like when you expect to hear a certain chord in the original song, you make sure whatever's playing fits well enough to make it sound ok. For instance, in this one, when they sing "Ba de ya, say do you remember", the background chords the listener expect to hear are different in the original song when compared to the new one, but what they hear is close enough to not sound wrong. This is one of those things that alot of other mashup "artists" fail at, releasing songs that could be great but where there's several times where things just sound "off". But not you.. Your mashups are on a completely different level. Keep up the great work.
I've found DJ Cummerbund to do the same where needed, and while I've yet to do a mashup that required me to tune individual notes, I certainly would. It just makes me cringe when I hear sour notes in mashups.
@@DJCosmicLatte/videos There's one thing to tweak a note if it really needs it, but i feel DJ Cummerbund has gone a completely different way with it. He's tweaking everything, making the artists sing/play a completely different song. What I enjoy (and again, this is my personal opinion) is mashups where the original "sound" of the different songs are kept as much as possible. Sure, they may be shifted up or down to fit the other song or have a tone or two "tweaked", but they still sound like you remember them sounding. Take DJ Cummerbund's "all i want for christmas" video. When you first hear Mariah Carey sing, it becomes clear that he not only changed one or two things.. he reworked her entire audio track to something completely new. That's just taking it too far (again, in my opinion). Thankfully, Bill doesn't take things that far.. :)
@@Nordorf I feel DJ Cummerbund is more of a comedic experience, Bill's are more authentic/musical, for lack of a better way to describe it. Both are really great but I tend to prefer one over the other depending on what mood I'm in. DJCB really goes all out to make the music work so he doesn't have to scrap a good idea, and that's appreciated. But a sour note can really ruin an entire mashup for me, too, so I've often had my favorites and stuck with them, like Wax Audio, DJs from Mars, and now these two.
It requires either a knowledge of music theory, or a really good ear. The backing chords in the chorus of "September" are in F# minor, while the chords for this song are in A, which is the relative major of A minor.
I would LOOOOOVE to take some of these mashups back to their respective decades, get a gig as a wedding or carnival DJ, just to see the reactions on the faces of the 'locals'!
It's insane how melancholic this becomes with that instrumental underneath. This would be perfect for having the windows down and the sunroof popped doing 85 on an open highway at sundown. This one is my favorite.
It's not just the music, it's syncing it to the video. Take two songs that are legendary in and of themselves and create a new meta-masterpiece. Genius.
I just discovered this channel today and I'd have to say that I'm extremely impressed by this person's skills to beautifully mash-up songs so perfectly! Even better than some artists who do their own song remixes! Top notch and one of the best on RUclips for sure!
As soon as I heard about Christine McVie's passing, I was reminded of this. Now it serves as a fine tribute to her as well as the late Maurice White. Seems you picked the right time to make this, knowing well what little time was left for the Fleeties. And I'm sure FM fans would be delighted with this if they took some time to watch and listen. RIP CMcV 🎹🎶
Oh. My. God. To hear Maurice White's isolated voice like this just simply brings a tear to my eye. I assume there's some sort of digital magic used to isolate the vocals; but they all come out sounding so clean that it's much easier to hear all the vocal nuances in this mashup versus the original EWF track which is loaded with dance beats. Amazing. Bravo!!
And the guitar solo is by Dimebag Darrell of Pantera? Are you freaking kidding me? This goes way past mashup and musical talent and a "good ear" all the way into the Uncharted Territory of MAGIC! Unreal - Thank you, Sir!
Incredible. The perfect way you brought Ms. McVee into the song I was anticipating it like a kid waiting for the ice cream truck. Man you delivered that perfect blend. These 2 melodies are so rich and textured. Yet you found a way to once again to improve upon greatness. Beautifully done. ❤
God, every single one of your mashups are fantastic. And they all sound organic; there are some mashups from other mixers that I enjoy but they sound like they had to be kind of forced (noticeably shifted pitch, tempo, etc.). Yours pretty much all manage to sound like natural fits, which is really impressive. Keep 'em comin'!
I was thinking the same thing. I didn't think you could take such an iconic and familiar song like "September" and get away with it. I was totally wrong. I think there are for sure crowds that would love this.
Christine McVie & Maurice White are jamming to this in a better place. RIP
I think so too. What's so strange is this was them at their best. Maurice had an incredible voice and Christine wrote this song and sings lead on it.
And Dime is providing accompaniment!
Mick Fleetwood's face going through all the stages of enjoying a McClintock mix.
It’s only appropriate to play this today, Sept 21 2024! Thank you, Bill.
This.........changes........everything!
It's not often that a mash-up makes both songs better. This one absolutely achieves that.
September is already a god tier level song so it's almost impossible to improve it but this one tries
I wouldn't say that. The mashup is on the same tier as the originals, which is rare.
@@soapygirl83agree completely
Ummm....
Agreed 100%
It's so crazy how Christine and Maurices voices sound so good together..this was awesome for real.
1:15 just wow.
THANK YOU, CHRISTINE MCVIE!!!!!
This actually sounds like it could have been a legit collaboration.
This sounds so natural like its not even a mashup at all. Good job!
I agree, it's like a new very enjoyable song :)

The Merlin of mashups.

There’s a point in the clip where Mick Fleetwood actually catches a glimpse of this future mix greatness and his pupils dilate beyond the infinite

Perfect articulation for perfection
My god this is beautiful
The perfect unification of music
Unironically enjoyable
And when the Pantera guitar solo was thrown into the mix I knew my life would never be the same

It's almost tribute like when he adds a badass guitar solo from one of the greats.

Holy crap! It works!

2:50 Mick Fleetwood thinking about the good times he had in September
If Bill McClintock was a baseball player, he would have the greatest batting average EVER. All he does is make hits.
WHY CAN'T YOU GIVE MORE THAN ONE LIKE! I WANT TO GIVE THIS _ALL_ THE LIKES!!!
Edit I can't stop laughing at Micks facial expressions.🤣🤣

This was a pretty big hit for EWF. However, it doesn't even come close to this masterpiece. This version would still be in the top ten today...

There are computer programs that can isolate the stem parts of a song. Vocals, drums, guitars.
