Thank you so much I was trying to decide which ones to buy and I'm going to get the ones you like and I like the price too I hope you have a great holiday and everyone is thankful for the help you've given them ...love Marcia in Modesto
Hi hun...... Yes I do like them and they are a nice budget price too so its a nice item to play and practice with without stress.... Hope you love them hun
Just now watching this Emma, "it just happens", lol! I have been coming to love my gelatos with those makeup brushes, I got all of the colors ;-). I love love using pastel on backgrounds but hate having to spray fix them. The gelatos are a nice solution.
I'm so glad you did swatches of these crayons, especially that FC iridescent gelato set. I have been eyeing it after purchasing the large 33 piece gift set II and the translucent set (and not getting more of a green selection) I have been going back and forth between the iridescent set I and II. So seeing these swatched is helpful. I really like the crayons for backgrounds as well, and I am also using those makeup brushes to blend. I did get some of the shorter hair stencil brushes but I do not like them as much. I am also wanting to do backgrounds more now where as before I dreaded it. These are a game changer for sure. TFS! I got some iridescent sticks in the large gift set and I have used one of them. I just went to go look and it was galaxy, it performed quite well and was creamy. I think it might be the color itself more so than the formula.
Hi hun.... So pleased you enjoyed the video...... I absolutely love them..... You should definately play with them I think you ll get wonderful projects out of them..... It is possibly just certain ones as most of them have been okay
It is SO Much fun to find coloring supplies that work as you Want them to!...I would like to see a demo of how you use silky crayons on a back ground. You do the back ground after the coloring is done? I suppose that is where the smaller makeup brushes come in handy....I just want to say i enjoy your sense of humor! Have a fab day!
Hi hun.... I am working on a page now so that I can do the background on camera when it's done.... I tend to do the backgrounds after I like the darkening effect so doesn't bother me..... Thank you so much I try and behave but I am just not a serious person lol 😁
I was cracking up at the “avert thy eyes” hahaha!! I have a whole bunch of the Ranger distress crayons, so will definitely be trying out using them with a brush! I might have to add some of these to my wish list as well!! Thanks for sharing this ❤️
This video was so helpful I have been having problems with backgrounds. I had notice these silky crayons before but never real knew how to use them . I like the cutting board idea and you showing us how it works Thank you so much PS ok you did enable me to put a few things on my amazon list
I bought the crayola cream sticks when they were on sale at walmart not having any idea on how to use them. I put some in my amazon cart. thanks for sharing. I learned so much. Have a good day.
I love gellatos and silky, and gel crayons. They glide beautifully. And they last a long time. You are going to love these for backgrounds. I am very happy for you. 🥰
Thanks Emma, I found that really useful. My Gelatos are a few years old and have dried out a bit but are still ok if you warm them up. Im obviously going to order the silkie ones, they look great. I agree about the makeup brushes, I have a couple of sets that I use in my card making, and was overjoyed when i first used them as I been struggling to get a smooth blend with my inks and these were perfect. your video was really informative. Thanks.
Hi hun.... Thank you so much... Glad you enjoyed it.... You will love those crayons I think..... Please show me whatever beautiful page you make.... Yes the makeup brushes have really changed the annoyance of blending for me too
I also love those crayons for backgrounds and with the make up brushes, it is really the best brush to make smooth backgrounds in a dry way. I also love to use them on Amazon printed thin papers. I also like the stencil brushed, but I haven't tried those stencil brushes with the long hair, so I'm not sure about those. The make up brushes are also nice for the ink pads. Oh, and I also got a pack of the Distress crayons. So maybe I will also order one of those cheap crayon sets, just for some extra colors maybe! I'm happy, that you also found this easy and fun way for doing beautiful backgrounds with them! :-) Happy colouring!
Hi hun... Thanks so much..... Ooh yes I am loving these and think they will be great for amazon paper too.... I am actually excited for backgrounds now..... So pleased
What type of make brushes are you referring too? Eye shadow applicators or blending brushes for eyeshadow and blush? I have stencil brushes and also use regular water brushes and paint brushes for the crayons but those give a different effect or look of course. Would like to try application with make up brushes as you mentioned. The thing that irks me about coloring and mixed media is all the extra accessories that goes along with it all. I mean it's not a necessity but having all the extras help. I just feel like at what point does it end? Now I'm also interested in distress inks as well and of course you have to have those foam blenders to use them. And not just one type of foam blender but several for each color ink and depending on what size of area you want to do. I probaly have more accessories to do actual mixed media and coloring then I do art supplies. I wonder if any one else ever feels this way about this hobby or recreation?
Yes I know exactly what you mean... I use the makeup / craft brushes that come with the long handles and Round head of bristles.... I will find the link for you and add it in to the video description for this video for you..... On the plus side I have also used these to blend out distress crayons and they work lovely for that as well
@@blankmission5369 Hi Blank Mission, at time 4:50 Emmal holds those Make up brushes into the camera, so that you can have a look. These are not eye shadow applicators. These are make up applicators. I found a set on Amazon which is called oval makeup brush set from EmaxDesign. Maybe Emma can tell you, which set she is using. We both really like this brush set for applying the Gelatos in a smooth way. And the best thing is, I personally think, thet they also work like a dream for Distress Inks. To be honest, I also was always hesitant because of the foam blenders. Because I couldn't get a smooth result and I didn't want to have a blender for every color I use. But those makeup brushes you can just clean them with water.
@@emmacolours oh thank you for the Iink. I have seen those before. I was just confused because in these comments you both were referring to them as makeup brushes. I will probably end up getting these as well at some point to add to my arsenal. They look very helpful. Thanks again.
You have a really nice color selection😊 i wish you would have shown how theses behave with water and blended dry with a brush, but i guess i will see that in one of your videos soon😏
Awesome! I've just realised a load of art companies and amazon won't ship fixative to me cause it's an aerosol, these seem the perfect affordable alternative for backgrounds
Thanks for going through these crayons Emma. I was considering whether I might like to try Gellatos at some point. I did know about the Ranger Distress Crayons but these other two brands were completely unknown to me. I will go and check them out.
Just ordered the silkys!! The more different types of colouring items I’ve got the better so can practice my backgrounds. Used to make cards and after many years decided to give away a lot of my stash ( distress inks/crayons, pan pastels and numerous other things) . Hindsight!!!!!!!!!! Oh well just enjoying this colouring experience, thanks for your inspiration. Ps never giving anything away again lol 😆
Lol I gave fallen for that before too.... Decided crafting isn't for me then found coloring..... Face-palm.... Definately never giving my stuff away again lol.... Hope you love the silky crayons.... I am on Instagram so show me your work with them always love to see it
I have been moving rooms about and cant find my log in for my insta, and the phone it's on is broke! As soon as I find that little bit of paper I can hopefully get back on.
