@@imnotlightskin2362 you’re funny. MJ
No........John Stockton is the greatest point guard, and it's not even close.

the best story is Chris Webber telling the rookies to stay on the bus and watch “the baddest man pull up” “john would pull up in a minivan, pop out the kids and bust us up”
Also love his story of him laying Stockton out on the first play and Stockton popping up and complimenting him on his hard screen and saying how demoralizing that was. Lol
John Stockton was never the biggest man on the floor , but he had the biggest heart on the floor❤😊
That shit is for real hilarious!!! Great moments like that i love
Lmao😂
Him and Webber wasn't on the same team
The definition of humbleness from start to finish John Stockton
well he is white if he was black he would want all validat6ion from media fans loud as fawk
He was humble but he was a hustler and played no games on their court
He’s the definition of an anti-vax moron
I think humility is the word you're looking for.
Most underrated nba player ever by a mile.
Stop smoking fent
@@SantanaWorld222 😂😂😂 pure fetty
Underrated!!!!!???? Stockton gets his props from everyone when you mention his name. He's known as one of the greatest point guards in history. He's top in assists and steals. How can he be Underrated
Underrated in that he doesn’t get name checked as often as he should. He is a old school blueprint for point guard. Different teams offensive strategy works because the point guard makes it so. If Stockton is in you are slashing into the paint , breaking on the turnover and it’s like an Afro convention. Picks all over over and over again and again
Moron kid saying the word underrated where it doesn't belong lol
Him disappearing into the crowd like Hannibal Lecter when the dream team bus was in traffic is my favorite story
DUDE SAME! I love that story
Same
This made me laugh i’ll have to look it up 😂
😂😂😂😂
What ?
I’m so glad they still talk about each other with such respect and admiration.
The rapist and the anti-vaxxer?
How many times can you remember hearing Stockton to Malone?
Man what?!!!! COUNTLESS!!!!!
I can't read Stockton without saying Malone straight after.
Pfft. A million.
Way to many times
Probably about 17,000 times.
Stockton would average 17 assists a game now
He averaged that back then if not damn near. He’d be a killer today
Probably 20 he averaged 14.5 1 year. With all that low scoring.
20 a game
30
And never miss a game.
Stock was pure Point Guard! Awesome guy Awesome player.
22 Seasons later he only missed 19 games with an injury. Dude was a rock too.
And still has time to rape
That's a hell of a career and they ran the high
Pick & Roll, to perfection and nobody could defend it consistently. That was old school
Ball and if you put them, in their prime, in todays NBA they would still be able to run
That play to perfection. And Stockton would
Average close to 20 assists per game.
Yeah, and like 15 of them were in one season, and 4 were in another. Something like that, anyway. Can’t remember exactly, but I know he played every single game, every single year, except for just a couple.
What he did, playing 82 games a year, plus all those playoff games, year after year after year, the way he played, setting screens against anyone, at his size, was truly amazing.
He was the toughest man to ever play the game, and the people who played against him knew it. He must’ve been injured so badly those 2 different times that he couldn’t walk.
It's weird how they say athletes today are better than ever, yet the injury rates are sky high. Maybe the lack of natural foods, as they're being sprayed more than ever these days. Not to mention the radio waves flying all over the place in this internet era. Imagine how much cleaner the world was before the internet blew up. Just cos we can't see radio waves don't mean they ain't there flying everywhere
They couldn't defend it consistently because Stockton had so many tools in his arsenal to instantly adapt. 20 assists per game isn't an exaggeration if he was playing the game today. The only way to prevent that would be to foul him repeatedly and then there'd be a high likelihood of more than one opponent fouling out. There was much more permissible contact during Stockton's era.
John Stockton is way overlooked as one of the NBA greats. He was a player who handled business consistently on the court and put up fantastic numbers every game. He and Karl Malone almost beat the 90's Bulls in the Finals.
The only won two games each time… played touch but still out matched
They were Great Together Malone & John but Almost don't count
@@raulmaragh5094 Go back and watch those series. Most of those games were 1 or 2 score games. Very evenly matched, Jazz could have won one or both.

John Wayne
He grew up as a little boy riding hogs bareback on his daddy's farm for fun
Sounds like a pedophile to me
That's why Utah was a perfect fit for him. He's a country boy. He started a trucking company, wears cowboy/country clothes and collects real life Tonka trucks.
That’s because Karl grew up in a very small community in Louisiana.
He is so underappreciated. One of the best true PG
The nba's true iron man. The best pure pg passer there ever was and karl was instrumental for him being that
No disrespect to Stockton, but I guess you never seen Magic!!
@@user-se4xo6vk6vmagic wasn’t a pure point guard. he was way taller than the average point guard and replaced shooting ability with a post presence. being a pure point guard is about more than being pass first.

The world needs more John Stocktons lol
Let’s start with the NBA and work up lol

John Stockton was/is the antithesis of trash-talking NBA players ( _ahem_ Larry Bird)
He simply went about his business quietly and professionally and ended up being the best point guard to ever play the game.
Better than Isaiah Thomas?, better than Magic Johson? Stock is definitely top 5 greatest points of all time for sure, but I follow where you're coming indeed 😀 Stock definitely put his stamp on the point position.
@@hello-people-of-goodwill
Yeah, sure he is better than Magic or Zeke. Not one-on-one of course, but the job of any point guard is to distribute the ball AND to keep the opposing point guard FROM distributing the ball i.e. assists & steals. John Stockton has the all-time NBA record for not one, which itself would be a stupendous feat... but BOTH of these most important categories.
And not by just a little either, but he's far and away the leader in both. I can't imagine a better general to run my team if I'm building one from scratch.
And that's with *ALL DUE RESPECT* to both Magic and Isaiah.

I will never forget John Stockton, Karl malone or Jeff hornacek. All those 3 gave Jordan and the bulls a run for their money in the 90s ,especially in the finals 2 years in a row.
DONT FORGET ABOUT BRYON RUSSELL AND GREG OSTERTAG!! THEM BOYS HAD A NICE SQUAD!
Yep. The Bulls ran...and got that money.
They lost
As much as i like utah, the team, to me, is the weakest collection of nba talent. However, the Jazz is the best team next to the bulls ever during that era because like the bulls, their system was exposed and expected BUT any other team were still having a hard time winning against Utah. Their system, the pick n roll, is almost the perfect system for that team.
Ha a run for their money would be taking the series the distance 7 games 3 - 3 winner take all. The bulls know not this in the finals. They did however give Jordan the Runs
When I first met him, I saw his number "12". I thought to myself, "Mmm, one more year".

These two accomplished so much together. They couldn't be more different, but it never mattered. We could learn a lot from that these days.
Politics aside, these two probably scored more points off the pick and roll than MJ and Pippen did together with regular assists. No one tops the Bulls tandem- but Stockton and Malone were one hell of a two person team!
John and Karl deserved one ring at least. They both had great careers.
They just didn't have enough around them. Jeff Malone and Jeff Hornacek were the best no 3 guys they had. And they weren't there that long. And there was a big drop off after that. Clyde Drexler will tell you.
