Charles Dance is a great choice for narrator his voice is perfect for savage kingdom.
Thank you didnt know his name . My fav channel and narrator .
@@Stevie-hn7mp im not sure if you ever saw the show game of thrones Charles Dance plays Tywin Lanister the father of Jamie,Cercie and Tyrion Lanister.
As an African American maybe I'm a little biased when I say that Idris Alba would be perfect for this documentary! We Africans should narrate our own history and culture!

Yes it beautiful in writing
My favorite thing about Nature shows is how it allows self reflection from an existential standpoint. One can take the side of the predator or the prey, and even see beyond the sides to understand the greater context of their environment. Thank you Nat Geo for releasing this

I am leaving this comment for a reminder when I come back that I have watched this awestruck documentary whose every stakes are mind-blogging. Cinematography, narrator 's voice with enticing words, portrait of story, and so on, what a documentary it is!!
These should go down in history as best photography best cinematography best narrator best series best animal and nature documentaries of all time. Truly. Wow.
I absolutely agree
You must be young. There is far greater, more realistic animal documentaries that don't rely on dramatic narration and quick editing to show what isn't reality in hunting, and kills. Just highlights as the real thing is a farce.
@@edju9968 what are they
Best count x5
They couldn't have picked a better narrator. Charles Dance played Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones. The Savage Kingdom series is all about dynasties and family in a land that is plagued by a constant state of war. This is pretty much exactly what GoT was all about, so if you liked that show, you will love this Savage Kingdom series.
I know! I cant believe dan ackroyd came back from retirement to do a voice acting role! Amazing!
I totally agree 👍
melodramatic, over the top, exaggerated, a production. speaking as if he's a narrator in a film, not real life. Unrealistic dribble
It has helped me understand the parts the Cats play in the kingdom, the lion betrayal for example. The lions seem to have an amazingly unfair advantage. Giving names to the pack leaders is awesome! Thanks for the info sir! Perfect narrator.
Charles Dance's narration is on par with Morgan Freeman! I love how he delivers the poetic excerpts,.... "Trouble never comes alone." "Every move is a calculated risk. Every risk, a calculated move." "The daily grind of life in the kingdom, kill, feed, sleep, repeat!"
Innocence offers no protection in this kingdom

A good show . thank you
So very good show
I do you know that . Justify your comment.
Dare I say these nature documentaries are even a little better than the BBC? And they're free! Thank you!
the BBC are also very good
The BBC are more reality based. These are a show, a production with quick editing influencing your perceptions, not really based.
Far better than the bbc
This narrator’s voice is magnificent, he’s so clear and descriptive!!!!! The way he describes the way the animas live and what they must go thru in order to survive is incomparable!!!!!❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Omg those leopard cubs being quiet around the dogs was so freaking c cute and saved the blood line!
Just for one of them to get killed afterwards by lion\
So I watch a lot of animal documentaries in my free time and I’ve seen others that tell the story of the leopard mom and her journey, and then others that specifically focus on the lions in this documentary and it’s SO COOL! to see these stories from different perspectives and then see them all together! That's the point. It's fiction, a production. This isn't reality.
Too much editing and drama in the music and narration. It's an action film via animals in Africa.
Charles Dance narrates it with a mesmerizing voice track. The videography is amazing. The sounds are splendid. I like it
I love these Savage Kingdom episodes I think I've seen them all and can watch them over and over again..I use to watch Mutual of Omaha's Wild kingdom back in the day on PBS when I was young..Also who remembers Marty Stoffer's show Wild America also on PBS..so I've been hooked on these type of shows since I was a kid..

ME TOO!!! I quite literally can't get enough especially about lions, I love lion prides and the entire dynamic, they're full of dramatic scenes and story lines. You're absolutely right.....Good evening Vikki how are you doing over there hope you're having a wonderful day it's another lovely day that the lord has made
Kudos to the NatGeo filmakers and personnel who bring these wildlife films right in our living rooms.
This isn't real wildlife life, it's how they've edited it to be 60 min of quick, no hassle kills, setting it up as characters in a film by naming them. The film makers name them. This isn't their names used in that area. That makes it a false set up from the get go.
His narration are, as though the animals themselves are talking to human...
What a great personification in the voice!❤
"The Hyena Slayer! He does not bluff! He just snaps your spine!" 🤷🏿♂🤣
Sekekama
Now that's gangster if u asked me.

23:57 The heartbreaking reaction of Saba when she hears her daughter being killed was heavy. In my opinion the baby leopard's first cry out sounded like a human baby.
Every episode in this series was fantastically filmed and whoever at Nat Geo Wild that came up with the idea to get Charles Dance is borderline genius. He even sounds like Tywin while narrating.
Charles Dance was a great choice for narrator. He has such a commanding voice, plus the simplicity of the script makes every word all the more powerful.

Baby cats actually do trigger the same maternal instincts in humans as babies. It's an adaptation. A lot of baby mammals have this adaptation but cats in particular have vocalizations that can make a nursing women lactate. This is why baby kittens are often adopted not just by humans but other animals as well.

These lions are in the championship rounds of feasting on their prey 🦁 🦁 🦁
Matsumi is fierce she has the scars to prove it! She definitely knows what not to do when tackling a water buffalo and Zebras. The females need to help the male beat up intruding males at least until their babies get big then her army can really grow.
Saba is an brilliant assassin , Warrior , gritty
It’s the respect for the alpha they cannot step in. The alpha is expected to protect them they have a natural fear of another alpha male lion. Doesn’t mean they couldn’t all jump in and easily kill it tho it’s just mental. Like how the the elephant runs from a lion when it could kill it so easily.
If the females got into battles with intruding males they would be wiped out. Only Pride males in their prime can go to to toe with a determined adult male or males.
