      Not sure if she counts, but maybe Tatsuki would be a good pick. Her friendships with Ichigo and Orihime were really cool, and she felt like she was set up to have a big role later in the story because of her already knowing how to fight and wanting to protect Orihime. But after the introduction arc, she just kinda does nothing in the series (except that one really good scene in the Arrancar arc when she smashes Ichigo against a window). There were many opportunities to add her into the main group, but she just never joined, it was pretty disappointing for a character with so much potential

    I think the reason we don’t see Tessai involved with the Soul Society the way Kisuke Urahara is after Fake Karakura Town, is because he is still considered a criminal. @@out_of_orbit1968 that is an explanation but not a correct one. Just because Kubo was sick doesnt mean he forgot about Tessai. Because Tessai is shown a lot. But only for comedy or going somewhere with Kisuke. He helped Ichigo at first. But i mean he was a captain before Kisuke so why? I bet that Tessai taught Kisuke about the kido spells over level 90. Yes Kisuke is smart but when it comes to kido he is not smarter than Tessai who was the one to actually save the vizards and no one even mentioned him. Shinji said that he is a friend of Ichigo and he owns Kisuke but Tessai saved them. You cant forget a character who still shows up every now and then for comedy like giving Kisuke pills. More than forgotten as a character he is forgotten as a captain of kido corps. Do they even have one now? He is just there like don kanonji. Hachi who was under Tessai did more than him. Tessai is massively underrated and underutilized. My biggest gripe has always been how he wasn't involved in the fight with Aizen at all in Fake Karakura Town. Like everyone involved in TBTP arc is there, ready to confront Aizen except Tessai.
    What makes it even sadder is that he doesn't even get mentioned. I'd feel a little better about it if Urahara dropped a line about him "Staying Back to watch the shop/Protect Ururu and Jinta" but we don't even get that.
    It's my personal headcanon that the kido that Urahara used to seal Aizen after his fight with Ichigo was developed by Tessai himself and not Urahara. Because I really just want Tessai to be involved in some capacity.

    Tessai and Hachi not having some sort of moment in the Fake Karakura Town is a bummer when you consider the potential of the former Captain and Vice Captain of the Kido corp teaming up. He hyped up his Zapaktou and told us Ichigo was the solution only for the Hogyoko to happen and then final Getsuga Tensou. And worse, barely any backstory mentioned in the anime outside him having created one in the past and that he's after the soul king. It's why nuclear take, I honestly found Tsukishima/ Ginjou a lot better as villains overall. While it sucked that Ginjou's backstory was shorted, at least I could buy his strength and cunning and his motivations for going after Ichigo and Soul Society were relatable. Taking inspiration from Sensui from YYH, but that's not a bad thing. Overall, I like Aizen but he's very overrated as a villain.

I firmly believe the Fullbring Arc is absolute dog shit, and the worst part of the series by a country mile. And Ginjou being a terrible villain is a big part of that. Tsukushima was much more compelling in my opinion. But on the subject of powercreep within Fake Karakura, I couldn't agree more. It doesn't even make sense within the context of what the series presents. The Vizard are the perfect example of that - especially Kensei but I've ranted more than enough about how that character is done dirty throughout the entire series.

That said, I never once admitted to saying Fullbring was a good arc. On the contrary, i found it mediocre. It was Kubo trying to do a love letter to chapter black from Yu Yu Hakusho and not getting it. And Ginjou I was simply comparing him to Aizen in terms of how similar they were as a master manipulator, threat potential etc. I do agree with you that Tsukishima was a better villain than Ginjou in terms of having more to him. Tessai was a frustrating character for me. Especially because it is so easy to fix almost everything about him. For example, when Karakura Town was teleported by the four pillars, Kubo could've had him sitting in the middle of Karakura and be the one who is essentially keeping the spell up. For one thing, it would be a payoff of him using the teleportation Kido in Tbtp, and on the other hand it would be a MASSIVE feat of power; Kubo could've written that in this 100 years, Tessai was honing his Kido spells in preparation to face Aizen again. Hell, he could've been the one figuring out that Aizen was trying to create the Oukagi waaay back, that would require a lot of change to other aspects of the story as well, but it would be massive improvement for his character and even improve Kisuke even further.
    So then the battle of the four pillars would be more of a battle for Tessai as the vice-captains protect him. And then the Menos that were called in later would be more threatening, since Tessai is in deep concentration to hold the spell and can't defend himself. I'm just spitballing here, but that would already improve him so much.
    By the way, i really like the idea of making this a new format. Since Kubo is generally really good at writing his characters in a somewhat satisfying way, it points out the few times he kinda messed up. Also i would like to give my take on improving all of the stuff surrounding the characters in the comments like i did with Tessai.

      He might not have a Zanpakuto. Since he is in the Kido Corp and the Kido Corp doesnt seem to like the other squads. It's possible that they could use mainly Kido. Like how some RPGS, you have Mages creating offensive spells, defensive spells, support spell and debuff spells. And if Yoruichi can abandon her Zanpakuto to focus better on her style and Nanao's special condition with her Zanpakuto. Maybe Tessai could one of those options.

    I would love it if you would eventually at some point talk about Karin and Yuzu and their untapped potential as I feel like they became forgotten characters towards the end of the series especially when it seemed like Karin was becoming a Substitute Shinigami herself + I would’ve loved seeing both sisters in action with Karin using a Zanpakuto and maybe Yuzu unlocking Quincy powers both reflecting their parents union :)
    Also as a side note if we ever get a full series of Burn The Witch it would be great to see the Kurosaki sisters reappear in that 🙏🏻

    You're easily the best Bleach content creator imo, and my favorite as well. The video ideas are really interesting and very well done as well. I've been subscribed for a while now. I wish with the return of the anime more people would be interested in bleach and dig for content on YT and find you. And i ABSOLUTELY agree with your statement on incredibly interesting, hooking ideas being introduced and then go.no where, even though non of these concepts went anywhere, i loved them. And this is one if the many reasons why i am still bleach, you just can't find such hooking concepts these days, it's actually crazy.

    I gotta point out the power of the Urahara, Tessai, and Yoruichi in this video is astounding. All three of them used powers well above others powers that you know when they busted out, it was an impossible odd to meet for any other group with that power behind Seiraite. My girl, flash goddes Yorichi, saved their asses in a flash, nearly skipping time herself. No one could CATCH her in the time that she spent flashing through the guards at the court carrying two people. Wish I got how powerful Tessai was back then but they left him out SO MUCH. Like, why wasn't he battling in Fake Karakura Town arc? He would have made the odds a WHOLE LOT BETTER.

    I wanted to know more about him, and actually see him joining the fight as one of the strongest Kido master, but that just never happened.
    I also always wanted to see the Kido Corp, as Kido was always one of the aspects in Bleach I was very interested in.
    But also answering a bigger question: if you kill a Hollow with Kido, is their soul "purified"?
    You would think if the kido corp exists that they ensured that any Kido they use is specialized for purifying hollows as well.
    with perhaps the exception of some non authorized/forbidden Kido.
    Its an aspect of the Soul Society I really wish we knew more about.

    It always seemed so weird to me that if Tessai was a Captain level fighter with the ability to use Kidō with the destructive potential of a Captain bankai, then why did he never fucking do anything. Could have totally seen him cast some forbidden Kidō and shrek some quincies with it in the TYBWA but he didnt even get a mention. Like wtf

    • @hieroglyphixhax1514
      @hieroglyphixhax1514 2 года назад

      I think he was above captain level, seeing as how Shunsui and Ukitake spoke of him. Also it’d be safe to assume that although kisuke is smart and talented, clearly Tessai is the one behind his kido brilliance.

    • @hieroglyphixhax1514
      @hieroglyphixhax1514 2 года назад

      Also, considering Hachi can use Bakudo 99 too and with ease (without incantation) it’s safe to assume Hachi is Atleast captain lvl and since Tessai is his superior, then Tessai is above that. PS. There is forbidden kido and there is hidden kido….wouldn’t be surprised if Tessai can do a ton of hidden kido with how easy regular 1-90s kido is for him. I know you’re not debating but kidos are just too cool. I’m sure Kubo couldn’t find where to fit him because from his first display of power he was already op.

    The potential is strong, pity he never got to really shine other than some moments and his past as Captain of the Kido Corps. Still, his sternly comical and eccentric nature still make memorable and him jumping into battle to save the town is admirable. It's funny how he likes to buy junk advertised on TV much to Kisuke's annoyance.

    I can think of a few characters, for several different reasons, that seemed forgotten. I'll admit I am a Hinamori fan, but she did feel forgotten after the Fake Karakura town arc. But she had been a POV character during the ryoka invasion, her reaction to fighting Aizen in the fake Karakura town battle, and in flashbacks and Hitsugaya's comments, we see a strength we just don't see from her. Another is Akon. I hope that changes after the newest release, but we don't see Akon a lot, and the fact he was raised in the Maggot's Nest and his reaction during the Quincy invasion. And the other I feel is weirdly Isshin. He just seems to disappear a lot or be a goofball, and even after we see him as a captain, he has a few good fights, but it seems like he just got forgotten, even in the epilogue.
