I will never forget the day I arrived in London for the first time. I was 16 and I remember seeing the Big Ben from the plane.. I started to cry because I've always had this weird but amazing obsession with the british culture. I WAS FINALLY THERE, in the city of my dreams. The cars looked so tiny from above and the houses were like those in the Harry Potter films, everything was magical. Can't wait to return (hopefully soon). x
Perla La. I feel the same way about London. This may sound strange, but I only feel alive in London, when I am home in America, I only look forward to returning to England.
Lovely! When you have trekked across the globe for 24+ hours from Australia, seeing this wonderful city in the early morning light like this is truely thrilling. Let’s all hope that we can visit this “old friend” again one day soon and find it alive and vibrant as it used to be.
One of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen. I hope I get to travel to London this year! And I also hope I get to have such a stunning view from my plane!
If u travel to Heathrow you should definitely see London when landing. I flew to Gatwick as well on Saturday night and right when we were landing on the right hand side you could see the skyline with the shard and all the other buildings
Yea. The thing is a plane is much safer than even a car! Less room for error in a plane, but if something does go wrong more than likely you have a better chance of surviving a car crash than a plane crash.
London never leaves you. The madness and the contradictions the beauty and the history. How many cities do you absorb like you absorb London? Those who come never really leave.
Wonderful video .. thank you for posting .. I am going next weekend to London. Been 15 years since I have been home to see my family. This video makes me look forward to it even more.
Saw London from plane when flying from New York to Heathrow. We were visiting a friend who lives there and we weren't visiting London which was close by but I saw it from the plane and flipped out I was so happy!!!!!!
Last and first time I saw this view was flying in from LA, 35 years ago. I cried when I saw and recognised Windsor Castle. Probably will never get back to UK sadly. Just loved this. Thanks for the memories. 🇦🇺
How did you see Windsor Castle during this approach? The castle is some way to the west of the airport and is only visible after take-off from runways 27L or 27R or before landing from the opposite direction (runways 09L or 09R).
This video is amazing!! I liked it so much ...when i landed at london it was tne same view . London landing is amazing than landing in India. Thnxx for sharing dis video.
I know the difficulties of filming a flight but why not switch off the AUTO-FOCUS, as I had a migrane watching this in full screen, which is fully deserves. Every trip is a learning curve, so well done for good footage. Oh; Turn off the reading light next time, as at that stage of the flight, a leaflet cannot be that important for your neighbour to digest....
Very very nice :))) I love flying :D Take off and Landing always give me the chills :))) Remember back in the day when people used to clap when the plane landed? LOL
Moved to Malaysia back in October 2018, I'm being forced out of Malaysia so I'm leaving at the end of March 2019. Moving to Hong Kong for a month before moving to Australia. I don't touch British Soil again until the 21st June 2019. I'm looking forward to the day but I'll miss the adventures I had. I do miss home
Youre quite right..London is an old city and overcrowded..and Heathrow is underdimensioned for the kind of traffic it receives daily...Londons traffic/air connections and importance haven t keept pace with this basically Victorian city.
A sight you will not see again flying inside an older 747.Luthansa & Korean may fly the 8 series in. 10 years ago a significant proportion of flights coming in from the East were 747-400’s. Now with the virus most have been grounded. A lovely aircraft to fly in even cramped in Economy.
I live in London and I am increasingly feeling ashamed and guilty how expensive the capital has become for residents and tourists. The city shouldn't just be enjoyed by the wealthy but all should be welcome.
One of the "nice" things about landing or taking off at Heathrow from the East is that one gets a panorama of London before going there. In March 1960 my family went to London to live in the UK. My sight of this greatest of cities was Alas! a preview of suffering that I was shortly to undergo. Putting people like me "in our places" is a major pastime of the ruling class below the aircrafts' wings. They seem invincible and untouchable but nothing of that was apparent to me as a child in March 1960. :)
@@groveavenue That's really sad. I've worked for two large organisations, mainly in London, with a very diverse (and vocal) workforce, and there was no racism of any sort. And believe me, if there were, we would have heard about it. There were incidents of racial abuse by customers so it clearly hasn't been totally rooted out in the public at large but among colleagues it was unheard of.

Perla La. Trust me. If you live in London. It's not that special. Especially the terrible weather.
It's the same everywhere if you're a tourist. Unless you just have a generally higher zeal for life than your average whinging Pom! ;)
No matter where it is; flying over a illuminated landscape is just magical...
I agree
Curtis LeMay agrees.
