  • This video shows how to finish a bookmark using a Torchon pattern in bobbin lace. This can be used on other patterns as well. It is showing a design by Anita Wilkinson and published with her permission.

    What do you do with the leftover thread?

      Alot depends on how much you have left, the bobbins with a lot of thread on here were probably used again for the next bookmark, by pulling an amount off and rewinding on the second bobbin. If it is a short amount then it can be used for other creative textiles (free machine embroidery, felt making, stuffing pin cushions etc) or thrown away. The materials for this craft are relatively small compared to many crafts... how long does a 900m reel of thread at £8 last you?
