Biggest well done Dawn. Having seen the disappointments with your marathon runs this year, you stuck with it and got to cross that finish line. I’d seen your splits too and they were so even all the way through, even in those last couple of miles! Abingdon looked like a lovely low key event and I liked the running track start and finish. Well done again 🎉
Huge congrats Dawn, you really earned it! Even taking a tumble could not stop you on the day! Awesome to finish first in your age category too. Interesting start and finish on the track! Great job John on the spectating front, I understand the "anxious wait" you mentioned, I found that spectating Ben's marathon was nerve wracking haha. You always want your partner to do well but you have no clue how they're getting on for big chunks of the race.
Thanks, Chloe! Well done to Ben on his marathon! Luckily, I didn't lose my gels, which certainly helped in the final miles. Yes, John was excellent with support, and I agree that there's always an element of anxiety when you're not the one running. 🙂
So good to see you finishing this one, and in an excellent time. I expect you went back to the nice lodge for a nice sit down and something nice to eat afterwards 😅👍🏻
Thank you@@tworunningbrooms I will pass on your regards! Yes, awesome to have a camera dude! I'm in Menorca at the moment without him!!😀It has been known that i hand the camera to another!!😂🤣
Oh wow. Congratulations Dawn. Absolutely thrilled for you. What a superbly paced race and incredible finish time. 🎉🎉 Huge well done to John for the great footage and support - what a great team you are. 🙂 Ran Abingdon Marathon myself in 2019. Well organised event but the course wasn't as fast as advertised. One thing I do remember were the many tree roots and general trip hazards throughout. Falls are always disheartening so to get up, finish and win age category is a fantastic achievement. Regarding the build up, I think the intensity of the shorter distance races along with the 16 miles marathon pace at Yorkshire look like great preparation to me. Congratulations once again. Hope this performance but to bed any lingering disappointments from your other marathons this year. Very best of luck with the rest of 2023 and beyond.
Thank you.👍 Yes, there were many trip hazards, and to be honest, I wasn't a fan of the course, but I can see how the organisers did the best they could due to lack of road closures. I am very happy with the run, and we are both now on with the next goals. 😁
Well done Dawn 👍 🎉. Nice way to finish off the marathon season, or is there one more to come... Come on John, it would be great to see you follow suit too. If not see you in Manchester maybe !
Great job Dawn! That is great to keep pushing after a fall. Did you skip drinking most of marathon or just didn't need any new bottles? Green eggs and ham does sound better.
Thanks, Richard. The water was in paper cups, so I only took on sips, which really was just a mouth tefresher more than hydration, so after 15 miles, I just didn't bother to get anymore and focused on taking 2 more gels at 18 and 22 miles.
Congrats on completing the Abingdon Marathon, Dawn, especially after the challenges you faced earlier this year! 🏃♀ Your determination and pacing strategy really paid off. Here's to more successful races in the future!
Well done Dawn.and John for filming. How was the medal this year? Last years was a bit of a disappointment being it was made of wood. I guess its an environmental thing is it ? anyhow that aside i think its a great course and as you say a club event. Well done to the organisers.
Amazing job Dawn, finishing in a excellent time, very bad luck fulling over, & what a really nice 1st place age group trophy, very professional video, could see from parts of the video, it looked like there were lots of spots could easily trip up on, Congrats for a totally successful marathon done & dusted for 2023 Boom!! 🥳👣🏃🏽♀️👊🏼👍🏼✅😀
Thanks, Reece. Yes, a nice area but without closed roads you had to keep your wits about you running on pavement. Unfortunately I relaxed on a part that didn't require too much concentration and that's when I fell. Never take your eye off the ball...🙂
@@tworunningbrooms yep considering all the circumstances was a really good run, plus give ya the confidence to know that on a better marathon course, can only improve, way to go! Onwards & upwards to the next adventures 👍🏼🥳⛷👊🏼🌲🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♂️😀
Amazing Dawn, cracking result and great to see you put the 2023 marathon demons to bed. Solid support from John too, Kipchoge's Bottle Claus may need to watch his job there!
Well done Dawn on a very well executed Marathon with a great fuelling strategy & excellent consistent pacing. Well rewarded too with that Age Group win! Do you think you could have gone sub 3.30 if you hadn't fallen over? Awesome support from John around the course. Very enjoyable video Guys, well done!
Thank you 😊. No to hitting sub 3:30, even without the fall. I was always just outside. I would've done it had I not done 16 miles at MP the week before...🤣 Next time!
Thanks, Tim. Yes, it did require some concentration, and I was thinking on the first lap I wouldn't like this in a training run.... I wonder whether the front guys stuck to the road as they had a bike lead. The marshals told us mid packers to get on the pavements. Shame they couldn't close the road, but understandable.

Thanjs, Rachel. Funnily enough, we just read your comment in the car park at Tout Quarry on Portland, which featured on one of your videos. 🙂
Wow what a ⭐️ you are Dawn! Green eggs and ham 😂
Thank you. 👍 🙂

No further attempts this year for either of us. Spring is the next one. 🙂 Good luck at Valencia, yourself!
So pleased for you Dawn! Great support too John. So glad it went well and I'm more than impressed with your consistency! Very well done!
Thanks, Andy. We keep on keeping on...😁👍

Congratulations! Well done, Dawn!
Thanks, Jay. I enjoyed the run. 👍🙂
What on earth was I saying with my hands ?😂 Great video of a memorable day ❤
Lol, who knows! What a great day. Really enjoyed it and so glad we both did ourselves proud. 👍😁
Well done, you were owed this!
Thank you. I'm so pleased to have finally nailed one this year. 🙂

The medal this year was metal with a simple design of the running track. It was okay. 😁

A Great watch, well done on finishing the Marathon, a great time🔥🔥
Thank you.👍
Well Dawn 🥇 and John for being your support. I'll have that vegan bar 😊 lol
Thank you. I (Dawn) ate it and was actually quite nice. 😁
Amazing Dawn, cracking result and great to see you put the 2023 marathon demons to bed. Solid support from John too, Kipchoge's Bottle Claus may need to watch his job there!
Thanks, Ben. John was great support. I had to look up the Kipchoge reference. 😁
Great work Dawn.

Well done great achievement
Thank you. 👍
Well done Dawn - very good run. Going on and off curbs in a race seems far from ideal. Bad enough on training runs.
Well done Dawn
Thanks 👍
Well done people, how did your friend go Dawn?
She enjoyed it and finished comfortably inside her target.
Amazing very fast 😮
Thank you. 👍
You guys want to train me to a big spring marathon PB?
Happy to link up virtually, Matt. tworunningbrooms@yahoo.com Hope all is well.
is the marathon 42 km? did you run that in 3:30? so u ran 12km/h for 3:30 straight?
Yes, it's 42km or 26.2 miles.
@@tworunningbrooms she run 12 km/h for 3hours and 30 minutes straight?
