How to Build Your Own Monkey Pole Bonsai Stand! - Bonsai-YEAH!

- We have visited many a bonsai garden and one thing I kept seeing wass the use of a tower stand called a "Monkey Pole". It looked easy enough to make myself, so I tasked myself with building one. With just a 10 foot 2x4 and a 3 foot 4x4, the build would be a simple job for anyone handy with a hand saw and screwdriver.

Boy, I wish I had proper tools to do lap joints!
@@BonsaiYEAH i use a japanese pull saw to do the lap on top of the 4x4, and then skip doing it on the 2x4 or support arm. Just want a lip for the support arm(s) for the 4x4 to take the weight and not the screws
Looks good! Love the 2x4 centered on the top of the 4x4 to take the weight of the pot/plant. I get nervous when I see people just using the side pieces to hold all the weight with just screws
