To anyone who stopped playing the crew motorfest due to the idiotic 60 frame cap on a racing game in 2024......AFMF 2 works AMAZING on this game. You'll raise the cap to 120fps just by flipping a switch and it feels and looks great. A few UI glitches and a tiny bit of ghosting every once in a while on the bumper of the car but honestly AFMF2 makes this game shine.... love.
I found it wasnt as good as lossless scaling frame generation, so for now I'll stick with that these technologies improving over time is what im excited for. Bring on the competition! AI and machine learning are going to keep improving
It it's a nice option if you want to build a really budget pc or a really compact pc (with ryzen 800g) since you wont really need a gpu. Most of demanding games will support it and FPS games are mostly optimization in these are on a high level so you wont need afmf. I tested it personaly on my rx 6750 xt paired with a 5800x3D in 1440p and it does the job as it was intended. No crashes or nothing
This does look promising considering it's a preview, it also seems to handle hud elements quite well, which usually, driver level versions of frame gen and upscaling can have issues with that, it's not perfect but it looks better than what I've seen before this. Going on the quality that I'm seeing already, with just another year or so of polish, this could be really useful for a lot of gamers, especially on modest hardware, and it could also become a game changer for portable PC gaming devices. With that said, it does seem to be a bit on the weird side when it comes to quality, ghosting and hud elements, some games seem to work much better than others and it doesn't seem to have any impact on that with frame rate and with any luck, AMD can iron out those issues so you get a more consistent image quality across the games based on real frame rates, but with that said, there are a few different settings in the driver on this, so maybe some of the other settings will work better on the games that didn't deliver good quality. Anyway, I think the best use cases could be from a locked 60fps to almost 120fps and for gamers that have really high refresh rate displays and are already running at a high frame rate and want to get close to doubling that to take advantage of what the display can do, it also looks promising on some games at 60fps with this tech but it does seem to vary depending on game.
Think it this way AFMF works perfectly for high refresh rate monitors 144+ only if ur GPU consistently pushes half of ur screens refresh rate 180 -> 90. Ive been using this is competitive games like The finals, Valorant, CS2 etc and it works like a dream PS (I have a 6600 too) also don't use Vsync to cap fps to half of screen refresh rate use radeon chill instead and cap it to half screen refresh rate - 1 to avoid tearing YES even if u have Freesync Premium
AFMF is not meant to be used with Vsync On. RDNA2 is also currently limited to Exclusive Fullscreen for it. RDNA3 has support for Borderless Fullscreen. Even previously, if you attempted AFMF 1 on Borderless Fullscreen with Vsync On, it did start, but it looked and felt bad. The moment you switched to Exclusive Fullscreen and no Vsync, it was much better. Also if the you are NOT GPU bound, AFMF works much better than if you are GPU bound. AFMF2 also seems to work better on RDNA3 GPUs right now.
Upgrade your gpu because the Rtx 2060 could barely even handle 1440p at basic settings. (GPU should be about the same as a 1440p monitor if you get one used on eBay)
Go with 4070 or 4060 Ti 16GB as a new one or it might be second hand used 3080 10GB or 3080 12GB if you can find at least, 8GB will not be definetly enough for 1440p, it's now insufficent for the some games even on the 1080p tho..
Saludos Buen video !
La vie en rose! If I look at your tests, everything is perfect, especially if you already have 70-80 fps. But what happens if you want to play Cyberpunk 2077 or AlanWake 2 with path tracing. How AFMF 2 handle these cases?
Oddly enough, I used to get better performance with Vulkan than DX12. But that was on an RX480 8GB. On my 6700XT, I get a good 5-10fps more with DX12. I used to get stuttering with DX12 and zero stuttering with Vulkan on my 6700XT, but that has since disappeared. I now use DX12 over Vulkan on my 6700XT, at least.
I couldn't have found a better time to get a 6700 XT. I was sceptical towards the frame gen but after trying it out even the AFMF I can't notice the artifacts at all. Maybe it's just because I use AFMF to fully saturate my 240Hz monitor. But it's genuinely A MUST for 200Hz+ monitors (outside of FPS games ofc)
The best way to use afmf 2 is to lock your fps (in game or whith radeon chill) to a certain number wher frams are stabel to get the best frame genration .
Tried is AC Odyssey and Cyberpunk and it's smooth with no issues. I think I will be playing @1440 with FSR + AFMF2 on a 4K 144Hz tv. I will be trying with racing sims liek AC and ATMS2
It's a really solid combo. The CPU is good, but you might also want to take a look at the 5600 or 5600X, because depending on where you live the price might be lower. And AM4 motherboards are usually cheaper too. But no matter what you choose, you should be happy.
I recently buy a rx7900 xtx first all run in 4K it’s already Nice If with rx 7900 xtx is use afmf2 in 4K can reach around easily in all game 120+ fps My combo is Rx7900XTX + I9-14900KF Plus a biggest point, like Space marine 2 when rtx are stuck without frame gen , with amd we can enable and it’s a game changer i was with a rtx4070 and Space marine 2 doesn’t run well. Nvidia now is just for Ray tracing compatibility other way is not interesting
isnt that cpu bottle necking your gpu? It makes me think I could go ahead slap something ten times more faster than my 5600x cpu and not expect the game to be losing out on more performance from the gpu. Correct me if Im wrong because I was researching a lot of bottlenecking cpu to gpu.
Yes version 2.0 is good but not for every type of game. I use mainly flight simulation and for this it's very effective. It doubles the fps with very few artefacts.

Finally some love for my little RX 6600 👨💻
Im also playing it at the moment with my Asus Dual RX6600, still a very good card - im getting 50 to 60 fps all the time with the graphics set to the high setting 1440p and with FSR2 quality mode enabled.
Maybe you didn't feel much difference on CS2 because of the high base FPS but it was very noticable in the video that AFMF added a lot of sutter to the movement.
almost at 500k!
Great video as always, a friend bought this one so i'll show him this video
To anyone who stopped playing the crew motorfest due to the idiotic 60 frame cap on a racing game in 2024......AFMF 2 works AMAZING on this game. You'll raise the cap to 120fps just by flipping a switch and it feels and looks great. A few UI glitches and a tiny bit of ghosting every once in a while on the bumper of the car but honestly AFMF2 makes this game shine.... love.
I found it wasnt as good as lossless scaling frame generation, so for now I'll stick with that
these technologies improving over time is what im excited for. Bring on the competition! AI and machine learning are going to keep improving
BenchmarKing settings... Finally. Thanks.
Great RUclipsr :)
9:36 That dude went to Heaven dude.
They dont get tired of releasing even more things to make games even more blurrier? God.
Just bought the 6600 2 days ago for 160$, loving it
Nice video dude keep it up 👍🏼
It it's a nice option if you want to build a really budget pc or a really compact pc (with ryzen 800g) since you wont really need a gpu. Most of demanding games will support it and FPS games are mostly optimization in these are on a high level so you wont need afmf.
I tested it personaly on my rx 6750 xt paired with a 5800x3D in 1440p and it does the job as it was intended. No crashes or nothing
When this comes to next gen consoles this will be a game changer
congratulations in advance for 500k subs 💐💐💐 . Lots if Love from India
Yo bro sick video as always man
Appreciate it!
It would be even better if AFMF 2 was available for Nvidia 10/20/30 series GPUs as well.
Think it this way AFMF works perfectly for high refresh rate monitors 144+ only if ur GPU consistently pushes half of ur screens refresh rate 180 -> 90. Ive been using this is competitive games like The finals, Valorant, CS2 etc and it works like a dream
PS (I have a 6600 too) also don't use Vsync to cap fps to half of screen refresh rate use radeon chill instead and cap it to half screen refresh rate - 1 to avoid tearing YES even if u have Freesync Premium
Thanks for testing this , great video.
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it!
Bro, u are really unique. And I love your voice and style.
Thank you very much 😊
Should i buy a 1440p monitor as i have an RTX 2060 or do i upgrade my gpu , if so then RX 6700xt or RTX 3060TI (which is abit more expensive)?
i have 6700xt on 1440p. Not enough 100%, go for 7800xt/4070 at least. Or 7700xt, but even that kinda meh
Upgrade your gpu because the Rtx 2060 could barely even handle 1440p at basic settings. (GPU should be about the same as a 1440p monitor if you get one used on eBay)
3060Ti. DLSS image quality simply can't be beat.
Go with 4070 or 4060 Ti 16GB as a new one or it might be second hand used 3080 10GB or 3080 12GB if you can find at least, 8GB will not be definetly enough for 1440p, it's now insufficent for the some games even on the 1080p tho..
get Rx 6700xt or 6750 xt, you are going to get a rtx 3070 performance if you go for.thr latter with better vram
So lossless scaling is still king it seems.
the programm?
@@ZirTech0 lossless scaling app. From steam.
Saludos
Buen video !
La vie en rose!
If I look at your tests, everything is perfect, especially if you already have 70-80 fps. But what happens if you want to play Cyberpunk 2077 or AlanWake 2 with path tracing. How AFMF 2 handle these cases?
could you please show us your Afterburner overlay settings? I like the layout you have
I'm planning on releasing a video of it in a couple of weeks :)
@@zWORMzGaming is there 500k special in same video
@@zWORMzGaming Oh perfect! Thank youu 🙏🏻
Haha not really! I was going to release a song for the 500K, but that turned out harder than expected!
I even contacted a band 🤣
@@zWORMzGaming😂 lol
Finally side by side benchmark do for gpuz❤
Ty for testing my gpu 🎉🎉
Thanks for watching 😃
really good video , maybe you can start testing procesors , it would be interesting
Thanks!
I have tested a few :)
The most recent one was the FX 8350 a few months ago. I have also tested other old processors
@@zWORMzGaming
great, I'll go and have a look at them :D
Driving 6600 currently... very happy
The AMD AFMF Is a game changer fortunately i have RX6600
6800XT are working for me over 3 years ,really worth it
i have also found that frame gen makes games stutter and it feels like you just halved your fps instead of doubled lol.
Hello!
thank you for testing Rx card 😁
Please do a rx 7900 gre test
please make a video about lossless scaling and give your thoughts about it
love your content man
Can you test Lossless Scaling with low-end gpus? It breathes new life into them
Hey, love your videos!
Could you try Ray tracing + Frame gen on some high end 6000 series? I would love to see a playable experience on those cards
AFMF 2 in this new driver , really helps ? or bether keep it off ?
Pode fazer vídeos testando o lossless?😊
I couldn't have found a better time to get a 6700 XT. I was sceptical towards the frame gen but after trying it out even the AFMF I can't notice the artifacts at all. Maybe it's just because I use AFMF to fully saturate my 240Hz monitor. But it's genuinely A MUST for 200Hz+ monitors (outside of FPS games ofc)
Yeah at 200 fps or close to it, it's very hard to notice the artifacts.
Enjoy 😃
Best benchmarker of all time
The best way to use afmf 2 is to lock your fps (in game or whith radeon chill) to a certain number wher frams are stabel to get the best frame genration .
Tried is AC Odyssey and Cyberpunk and it's smooth with no issues. I think I will be playing @1440 with FSR + AFMF2 on a 4K 144Hz tv. I will be trying with racing sims liek AC and ATMS2
have a pc with this gpu, its a game changer fr
I am a cs2 player. Is i5 12400f rx 6600 a reasonable choice? My expenses are quite limited,I've never used AMD's vga before, so I'm quite confused
It's a really solid combo. The CPU is good, but you might also want to take a look at the 5600 or 5600X, because depending on where you live the price might be lower. And AM4 motherboards are usually cheaper too. But no matter what you choose, you should be happy.
were u using anti lag 2 on counter strike? the in game one i mean
Me encanta tus videos :)
Gracias 🤗
finally a gpu i use :D i wish you used the high option so it dont disable man :(
How do you install these drivers? Do you just download and install of the bat or do you uninstall your regular ones and install the preview ones?
Uninstall the previous ones and install the new ones
Wow
Im shocked
I expected it to be much better
Thanks for the info kryzzpi!❤❤❤
I cropped this feature on my rx 6800xt in cyberpunk and other games it's very cool respect amd
I was waiting for "SHALL WE"...😢
Perfect 😃
already in my recommended page!
I recently buy a rx7900 xtx first all run in 4K it’s already Nice
If with rx 7900 xtx is use afmf2 in 4K can reach around easily in all game 120+ fps
My combo is Rx7900XTX + I9-14900KF
Plus a biggest point, like Space marine 2 when rtx are stuck without frame gen , with amd we can enable and it’s a game changer i was with a rtx4070 and Space marine 2 doesn’t run well.
Nvidia now is just for Ray tracing compatibility other way is not interesting
SO, what's better? Amd technology or lossless scaling??
RDR2 is probably wonky with it cuz it runs on Vulkan and AMD only just added Vulkan support to AFMF so it's not complete yet
Thank you very much ! ❤
You're welcome 😊
Thanks for watching!
what software do u use to show the stats?
Can you make a video comparing afmf2 vs lossless scaling??
*on the beta, if possible, LS has made some significant changes on the newest beta versions
@@alexp.8415explain pls
20:15 HE SAID IT
HES ALMOST AT 500K subs
I understand the meaning of this test, but I wonder: when with a 6600 you play RDR2 high setting at 80 fps native in full hd is not enough?
you need vram to use it properly so lowering quality will help to keep 60. also turn of antilag sometimes sorts your first issue out.
Shout-out to the absolute GOAT, BenchmarKing 💫
Dead space for next with AMF 2 TY. :D. Congratulation
@zWORMz You can also use Radeon chill and set the min/max to the same fps value ie. 60 for half the refresh rate and then use afmf2
Can you test the performance of the GTX 1080 Ti with RT, FSR 3 and FG turned on?
I'm very curious about the performance of GTX 1080 Ti
isnt that cpu bottle necking your gpu? It makes me think I could go ahead slap something ten times more faster than my 5600x cpu and not expect the game to be losing out on more performance from the gpu. Correct me if Im wrong because I was researching a lot of bottlenecking cpu to gpu.
It doesn't do anything, if the GPU is running at 99% it'll get the same FPS with an i3 or i9. Doesn't matter as long as there's no CPU bottleneck
I bought the RX 660 a few days ago, and I can't say a bad word about it.
Yes version 2.0 is good but not for every type of game. I use mainly flight simulation and for this it's very effective. It doubles the fps with very few artefacts.
only work on exclusive full screen game 🤔
kryzzp why don't u update Afterburner any particular reason?
It's the latest version, but I use a skin :)
First tech video in a while
Knowing Kryzzp I thought he would do something crazy like turning on In game implemented Frame Generation and AFMF on top 😂😂
And LSFG 3x on top of all that 12 times the frame rate
Rx 7800 XT next please🤓🤓
Use Radeon Chill to limit the fps and make sure the low and high limit are the same. Seems to work well
Kinda like what I did in RDR2 :)
@zWORMzGaming oh I didn't notice that. Apologies, I thought you were using Vsync which AMD says won't work properly with AFMF.
What fan curve do you use on your RX 6600?
afmf2 would give much better improvment if you have tested cs2 with high settings instead of low
Maybe! But I like that game on low, for that competitive advantage :)
