I just ordered one for $105 cheaper than the cheapest new RTX 3060 at this point in time. There is literally no reason for 3060s to cost as much as they do still. Almost every current gen card has dropped to around or under MSRP now except the 3060 and 3060 ti. (The cheapest 3060 ti in stock right now is literally just over $30 cheaper than a 3070 and $20 more than an RX 6700 xt. That's how dumb it is.)
Also add the 3050 to that list as well as it's being sold $50+ above MSRP still. They typically sell for higher than the 6600 right now which is laughable.
Love my Strix 6600 XT. Been a significant upgrade over my old 4GB RX570. Temps are great on these low power cards with big coolers. I've overclocked my XT up over 2.8Ghz, and it still barely touches 60° while gaming. I'm sure the 6600 is quite comparable 👍🏻
Based on the RUclips benchmarks I've seen as well as the TechPowerUp GPU database, the RX 6600 is about 15.0 - 20.0% slower in games than the XT variant, but as we saw from this video, the RX 6600 is still a very capable GPU. Plus, the majority of RX 6600 users likely play their games at 1080p 60fps high settings, so while the extra performance boost of the XT model is nice, it wouldn't be noticeable in the majority of titles outside of a side-by-side comparison. Getting 100 to 105 FPS instead of 80 to 85 FPS doesn't matter much if the game's being played on a 1080p 60hz panel, which I believe to be the case for the majority of RX 6600 users, including myself.
definitely a bang for the buck from amd, I got the sapphire pulse version and it runs every game with the right temps (min 50/60c max, min 60/70c max junction temp). the only issue I had is the gpu utilization jumping from time to time which causes stutters, but I fixed that by installing MSI Afterburner and enabling unified gpu usage monitoring, hell I can even run 1440p AAA games with high-med settings stable fps I don't know why people keep downplaying this card, maybe they want a gpu with no settings to do just to get high frames? lol.
For some reason this gpu never goes above 50% in-game usage for me .. i think my 8gig ram is the culprit or is the processor (i5-8400) what do you reckon?
I have this card myself, it's honestly a beast and I did not regret paying $383 at micro center for it in December :) The low temperatures of my ASUS Dual model surprised me - I usually get around ~50C under full load in a game and around 58-59C in a furmark run
@@DeerJerky Quick question, im about to buy this GPU but i cant decide about getting the ASUS dual or the EAGLE version that has 3fans, the 3fan eagle version is 10dollar cheaper here :D
@@solstralen8453 I'd say the eagle model unless your case is pretty small. 2 fans is more than enough to cool this but hey 3 fans for 10 bucks cheaper is always a plus

Not the best card out there for gaming but one of the best value cards you can buy right now
nah i wouldnt ever call this card overpriced with the current gpu market. Id say its the BEST price to preformance gpu out right now. Great GPU, great price.
Hell yeah, I have this and is amazing, just for your informatiom, things like emulators or rendering or those things are bad for AMD GPUs, for example Ryujinx emulator for Nintendo Switch is tr4sh, also I think Citra and many other because the developers have NVidia and works only for NVidia, also rendering and those stuff is bad, but if just gaming then hell yeah, I run every game at ultra and personally do RSR from 900p to 1080p and that makes the card not go as high as 100% of usage with high fps and Ultra, the best card for 1080p and 1440p because again, you could to upscale from 1080p to 1440p and looks good and will run any game at 1440p with ultra settings with 60fps at least
I bought the higher model Gigabyte RX 6600 XT gaming OC for 670€ one month ago. I'm glad I buy one not for that price but the performace is insane in comparison with gtx 1060 3gb which I had. Now with R5 5600x it's great setup.

Thanks @zWORMzGaming for such great job in doing a lot of various game tests with different options! The library of tests is impressive and very useful! After carefully studying yours tests of the video cards I was interested in, I was able to decide not to change my Sapphire GPro X060 (mining version of RX6600) to 4060, 4060 Ti or RX 6700XT, because this will not give me a comfortable game with ray tracing (even in native 1080p). A lot of unreal engine 5 games will feature TSR( after ghostwire tokyo release ), which is surprisingly looking sometimes better than DLSS, but it doesn't require machine learning. FSR 2.0 is also coming and it's basically working the same as TSR. I think ,,buy cause of DLSS" is not an argument of getting NVIDIA rn, because many game developers that are not sponsored by NVIDIA would want upscaling technology, that works with all available GPUs and deliver DLSSish quality. In my opinion go for NVIDIA if you want nvenc and RT only.

@@doabrad1850 I bought rx 6600 but could buy rx 6600 xt did i make mistake?
@@kononowitchsindustries how much of a price difference between the 6600 and 6600xt ?
definitely a bang for the buck from amd, I got the sapphire pulse version and it runs every game with the right temps (min 50/60c max, min 60/70c max junction temp). the only issue I had is the gpu utilization jumping from time to time which causes stutters, but I fixed that by installing MSI Afterburner and enabling unified gpu usage monitoring, hell I can even run 1440p AAA games with high-med settings stable fps
I don't know why people keep downplaying this card, maybe they want a gpu with no settings to do just to get high frames? lol.
For some reason this gpu never goes above 50% in-game usage for me .. i think my 8gig ram is the culprit or is the processor (i5-8400) what do you reckon?
@@pj491 Normally it's the processor or the ram bottlenecking the system, In ur case, ur processor is the most probable cause

Got a new PC with rx 6600 ,i5 10400f ,16gb ram ,and 2tb ssd for 486$
You should also test this card at 1440p to see what kind of compromises are necessary to get smooth gameplay.
I have this card right now, its a great upgrade from my ageing RX580. I paid £450 for it in late 2021 which was way over but much needed.
Hey, RX570 user here. Whats like the FPS increase from your RX580. And raytracing?
@@d3luxy Not sure about Ray Tracing on AMD but fidelity super resolution will give you a great boost if you enable it. As for the gpu, it's a big boost up from the 500 series with 8GB of GDDR 6 vram, perfect for 100 +fps at 1080p and even 60 + at 1440p in some e titles.

I found this card at $260 a couple months ago and didn't think it twice it was a great buy for todays market. Amazing card for someone who does light gaming and also some coding. I have it paired with 16gb ram and a 5th gen Intel i5f and I have great performance at 1080p in most games and overall a pretty smooth experience. Not the best card out there for gaming but one of the best value cards you can buy right now
Dang that cpu is quite underpowered, if you didn't already it should be your next upgrade
nah i wouldnt ever call this card overpriced with the current gpu market. Id say its the BEST price to preformance gpu out right now. Great GPU, great price.
Would you still recommend this? I have a VERY shitty gpu currently and desperately need a upgrade.
@@drhater2318 if ur that desperate then go for it
I bought the higher model Gigabyte RX 6600 XT gaming OC for 670€ one month ago. I'm glad I buy one not for that price but the performace is insane in comparison with gtx 1060 3gb which I had. Now with R5 5600x it's great setup.
Enjoy the card mate :)
One comment which is for me....as I was planning to replace my gtx 1060 3gb with this card 👍
As of 5/20/2022, the rx6600 you can get for $300. Msrp it is 330 so it is $30 below msrp. The rtx3050 you can get for $315. Msrp it is 250, so it's $65 over msrp. This is all market value from newegg usa.
The rx6600 outperforms the rtx3050, making the rx6600 the better buy over the rtx3050.

As I think now it will probably make sense to upgrade to a 4070 or 4070 Ti in the future.

i am confused btw this and 3050...this is much faster gpu but don't want to miss out features like DLSS and ray tracing, Nvenc encoder....
Performance is better in this one, but yeah features wise the 3050 has more going for it... It all depends on your needs!
if you want to working and playing 3050 is a best choice but only play game 6600
3050 is pretty garbage at ray tracing. I'd recommend atleast a 3060ti if you're serious about RT.
Nice, once I saved enough money and if Rx 6600 xt sold out, I might go with RX 6600.
(For some reason used Rx 6600 xt in my place is now quite cheap, hope I can grab it early)
