Thanks for clearing up the name. I bought three at PetCo and they were listed as just Zebra Loaches. Online, a Zebra Loach is bigger with thinner stripes. I like Golden Zebra Loach better. 👍
Dan, Good luck with the new loach. It seems feisty and looks like it can hopefully take care of itself. Only bottom dweller I have right now is a Chinese Algae Eater. I know from your other videos, it is not a particular fish you would buy again. So far, so good with mine. Of course it is still only about 4" long. Time will tell I suppose. Thanks for the nice video on the loach. 📺
Very nice tank , I've got almost the same loach gourami and tetra mix tank There are a clown yoyo 2 golden zebra around 10 kuhli 4 skunk 3 angelicus 2 dwarf and 4 striata , than also 3 different species of hilstream but don't know the right names than there are 6 chocolate and 4 samurai gourami 2 albino and 2 normal cardinal tetras
Golden Zebra Loachs should be kept in groups of at least five. Any fewer and they will become stressed. This rule of thumb applies to all loaches. They are aggressive towards all smaller bottom feeders; small corydoras are not suitable tankmates! They're also omnivores.
I'm guessing they're all closely related to some degree, but the Zebras do look similar to Yoyos when they're young. (I thought it was a Yoyo when I saw it in the store)
Hello Dan. Do your Loaches pick at the plants? I have a heavily planted 115 gallon aquarium, and I am interested in acquiring some Loaches. Don't particularly want tattered leaves.
@@DanHiteshew-oneandonly ah dang. I'm just saying though, all that algae will be their paradise. Another aquatic animal I think you should try would be the pom pom crab, but that's just me.
My angel killed my African Butterfly and golden Dojo loach she laid eggs and went after all the fish in the 29 gallon tank. She and another Angel are now in a 5 gallon. I am going to give them to the pet store
Absolutely adore kuhlis. In French they are called: Serpent D'eau - water serpent or water snake.
Your aquariums are truly lovely.

Cool little fish Dan.
FYI Hilstream loaches eat cyanobacteria if you have enough of them. you'll need 10 more for this tank.
I love those loaches
this loach is cool, never had one
Loaches are just great fish when I get more subscribers I will at some point set up a loach dominant tank.

Is that the same for all loaches?
Barry Suridge my 10 golden zebras get along fine with my albino corydoras
would zebra loaches eat fish frys??? or shrimp??
@@Blu3ni0000, Shrimp may be at risk (as Zebra Loaches like eating brine shrimp) but fry should be just fine.
The "regular" zebra loaches are your striated botia.
Sure looks like a yoyo. Botia almorhae. Never heard it called a zebra though.
The gourami are so outnumbered, you might as well start calling it the Loach Tank! 😂
Lol One day I'll have it full of gouramis again.
We were thinking the same thing ....hahahaha....looks great though and you know we love loaches Dan so the more the merrier....
Hey Dan did you bump the temperature up to 88 or higher ? that works for me, love the loaches do they eat guppy fry?
I don't think they's eat the fry, but I'm not sure to be honest.
thanks, i am so ready for your yard tours , i need some flower therapy
@@karenfishroom6599 You and me both!
How did your angel do
Dan, do you think the zebra loach would get along well with some bristlenose and Cory cats? I’m interested in a zebra for some snail control.
I think they'd be ok together.
Chan LawMonkey all three of those live in my 40 breeder in peace and harmony, however my golden zebra loches never eat snails

Which loaches stay small?! Wanted to get a couple but worried about the two Albino Holpo's I have! Thanks Dan...🌱
Zebra loaches, Skunk loaches, Angelicus loaches, Yoyo loaches, and others. There's a bunch of them that stay under 5 inches.
Dan Hiteshew that’s great Dan, thanks. Appreciate the reply. Love the channel, genuinely one of my favourites ☺️🌱
Yoyo loaches only get like 2.5 inches

I've never seen them eat plants. They love algae wafers though. And they'll keep any snails out of your tank.
@@DanHiteshew-oneandonly Thank you very much, Dan!
@@DanHiteshew-oneandonly hey Dan, you think that a Molly could be put into this tank?

Angelfish can definitely be aggressive.
Alright alright
