  • In this video we take a first look at the H4 680mm Alien quadcopter frame before we in the next part of this video series start building the frame and the quadcopter. It is carbon everywhere with red plastic clamps, so it is a foldable frame. All in all it seems a very good quality frame. This quadcopter should be used for mapping/photographing fields (with crop) from above. We'll see how that unfolds soon. Stay tuned and subscribe!

    The waterproofing has me hooked. Looking forward to what you do with this.

      Glad you are hooked. Still waiting for the last bits and pieces, but will try to have a [Part 1] up tonight or tomorrow. I am gonna use a variation of Plastidip, corrosionX and epoxy products to waterproof it. Will be exciting :-)

    How much flight time are you having with this setup?

    Many of the components look like the ones used in Lynxmotion Hquad 500.

    You should come see and join my group that is devoted to ONLY the Alien series of copters. I personally have an early (we call them the V1 series) from about Jan/Fed of 2014. You will have access to a LOT of info we've compiled over the months related to builds, options, hardware, software, gimbals, you name it. even some experimental X8 models! facebook.com/groups/1548921448673854/

    Great videos! Just curious, you said this frame was an upgrade over the Tarot 650 because it folds. Doesn't the Tarot 650 fold as well? Any other reasons you like this frame better? Are the more options for mounting a payload to the bottom?

    Hi the link is not working anymore of the frame i'm from belgium could you find any other website that sells it in the eu i canot find thanks in advanced

    Build question: first, thanks for putting these videos together. When installing the two long side plates, that sit between the main top and bottom plates, do you glue those side plates to the bottom. Or just use the included screws to hold everything in place by tension?

    Great frame build and video! About how much did the whole build cost you altogether?

    Hi dude, your video series in this build is awesome, any reason you chose the multistar 490kv motors for this frame rather than the multistar 350kv which are rated for the 15x5.5 props thanks Mic.

    • @TinyGreenWorkshop
      @TinyGreenWorkshop  9 лет назад

      Hey. Thank you :-)
      Simple reason - I would've chosen the 390Kv but they weren't in stock, so i chose the 490Kv instead. There is no problem at all fitting a 17" prop on this, very efficient motor.

    If i can ask because i have exactly the same frame: is it important to have the motors 100% level? If yes how do you achieve this?

    • @TinyGreenWorkshop
      @TinyGreenWorkshop  9 лет назад

      The more level you get the motors the more stabile you're quad will be. The autopilot shouldn't have to correct for the leveling of the motors if they are all level. Hoe that makes sense. I have a very smart technique to do this it is in a video uploaded by tomorrow hopefully :-)

    I'm looking at buying a h4 but I'm getting a lot of different pricing and weights. anywhere from 420g to 630g. how much did you give for you frame. theirs one that look like a good quality but its 200. it that a fair price?

    • @TinyGreenWorkshop
      @TinyGreenWorkshop  8 лет назад

      Hey. Yeah there is a lot of different prices and qualities. I bought them from n-factory (German supplier) as I live in Denmark, so fairly easy. I think that was around 160Eur which would be around the 200 dollar mark I believe. The quality is really good though!

      thank you for your reply. I bought one and it should be here by tomorrow. I gave 150 for it without the landing gear. once it arrives and I have time to review it, I'm planning on giving a short review on the brand of frame that I bought and maybe it will help someone else because it is almost Impossible to fine a original. only Chinese knockoffs.

    • @TinyGreenWorkshop
      @TinyGreenWorkshop  9 лет назад +1

      ***** Yes the battery is great with those motors :-)
      Choose the pixhawk. The APM is outdated - the pixhawk replaced it.

  • @borgqueenx

    Thanks looking forward to that! What i do now is simply see if the props end at the same height when close to each other.
