Simple Minds - Belfast Child (Reaction) (LBFA Series)
Original Video: • Simple Minds - Belfast...
Message:
1989, UK. There is a tradition in Folk music to rewrite lyrics but keep the original tune. This is based on a song called 'She Moved Through The Fair'. Singer Jim Kerr penned the song after watching a news report of the Remembrance Day bombing by the IRA in Enniskillen, Northern Island, 1989. Eleven people died and sixty-three were injured. For all caught up in conflicts.

I could've, should've, but time's not on my side right now.
But one of these days. 😘 🎵🎵🎶🎶🎵🎵
Most of the songs I’d like to do in the 535 Series are over 7 minutes.
From Street Fighting Years. Honestly one of the greatest albums of all time.
Not listening to a lot of albums then? One of the weakest albums they have ever done.
Such a classic one. A beautiful and strong message and very well presented. Jim at his best!
One of the best songs and bands over
I almost forgot how amazing Simple Minds are, thanks for reminding me...I like your reactions👍
beautiful song ❤🌹❤
Fil, yes, a religious conflict, Protestant and Catholic. I agree, a child's life.... All you said.
#QcumberSquad #SimpleMinds - Fil, I'm off back to the study.
Love this song
Fantastic composition By Simple Minds. Listen to the full version on the Street fighting Years album, even better.
Yes great music
Based on She Moved Through the Fair
Its nice to see how someone reacte on my one of favourite cover.
Epic
Should listen to the live version 2022 Taormina. More goose bumps ...
Fun fact this was Simple Minds only uk number 1 , considering all their hits records over the years
The British public have no taste. They would rather have Bob the builder and Mr Blobby as No.1's
Franks music collection isnt sorted by artists, its sorted by complexity 😁
🤣🤣
Tru' dat!
The war was partially religious indeed but also it was about wether North-Ireland was part of the UK (protestant) or Ireland (Catholic)
Yup mostly political
❤
There’s an almost better live version of this with the late Sinéad O’Connor sharing the vocals with Jim, and the emotion is so raw it’s haunting.
This bloke is just waffling and talking rubbish.
You sound like an overgrown child... Shame, are videos on the internet getting your little knickers in a twist? Poor baby. 🍼
@@thefablesphere Oh dear you don’t like someone telling you the truth do you. ? First sign is you insulting me,second is name calling, very adult I must say, never mind.
I wish Jim would write a song about the 12,000 children being slaughtered as i write this in the Genocide in the world's biggest open air prison 😢@thefablesphere
Having popups with a sound effect in a reaction piece to a music bit is such a brilliant idea. Not. 🤮
Such a classic one. A beautiful and strong message and very well presented. Jim at his best!
