We said that in real life, V committed suicide by jumping and drowning and this scene is supposed to indicate that. The darkness that is surrounding him is supposed to show that he has sinned. (so, he lost his innocence - that’s why darkness). And that is because he killed someone. The fact that butterfly is playing in the background could be a hint at the prologue since his suicide was shown there. And here we have this back again: Jin recording, which means we’re seeing his illusion/ dream world. After that the normal happy moments follow until we see this: V falling into water. Just like in the beginning of the mv, this again indicates that he really jumped into the water in the prologue. The fact that this happens right after a happy scene, shows the contrast between Jin’s present and the reality.Then we see V drawing a cross over Jin, who’s wearing a white shirt.This could be a hint at his death, because V is “crossing him out”, in the sense of he’s not a part of the real world anymore. And this again shows us that Jin really does subconsciously know that he’s dead, which is why we see those small “indications/hints” in his “perfect present”. But he himself still can’t fully accept it since doing that would mean giving up on the boys, but without the boys he can’t be happy.Here we have Namjoon and V together (remember the special “pairs”/ bonds)We see them starting to do bad things (graffiti) and this could have a relation to the real world. Part 2 meaning of the lyrics: Okay they are about to take a picture and we see Jin, right? After the scene with the pictures we see Jhope:And it seems like Jhope only remembered how he and the others (including Jin) used to take pictures like that before Jin died. That would explain why he looked so sad and then lied down again.They all seem distressed. This again is another hint. For a second the expression of the boys’ change and they don’t look happy anymore, because in real life they are suffering. But again, in this present only their expressions change, whereas in the real world they are suicidal. The thing is, we usually saw how one member at a time changed from happy to sad, but here we have Jungkook, Suga, Jimin and Jhope doing that at the same time and that is because their situation is getting worse and worse. Then a happy moment comes again.Jimin starts looking distressed. And after that we suddenly see Jungkook standing in front of Jin and Jin looks up.Their eyes meet and Jin once again realises that something is wrong.The picture changes to right before the boys start vandalizing the cars:And at first Jungkook looks serious but then suddenly he’s not on the car anymore, but instead he’s with the boys, looking all excited and happy. In this mv the boys constantly change from happy to sad/distressed/serious and the hints start to appear more and more often, but judging by how fast these sad scenes are interrupted by happy ones, it seems as if Jin is fighting against the reality. He’s fighting against those hints because he still doesn’t want to fully understand what’s going on and accept the fact that he’s dead. Then the boys start vandalizing cars while Jin just watches them. Just like with V and Rap Monster (graffiti)the fact that they’re doing something bad in Jin’s illusion shows us that they are sinning in the real world. And Jin is only watching because he’s oblivious to that fact. This is related to the real world. Because there, Jin’s death was the reason why Jimin became suicidal and tried to drown himself in the bathtub. That’s why here in this picture, Jin is pulling Jimin into the bathtub. While Jimin’s head is being pushed into the water, we again see V drowning. Then something very important happens:Jin looks to his left while V looks to his right. They make eye contact, meaning that they notice each other. And that wouldn’t be possible if one of them hadn’t joined the realm of the other one. So this scene shows us that V dies.As you can see there are only 6 members and a car (from the viewers pov). This could mean that the person sitting in the car is Jin since he’s the only one who we can’t see and was also seen driving a car before. The picture shows us that Jungkook is looking back at Jin, but the weird thing is no one else does that. Just Jungkook. But you see, at first Jungkook does look kind of distressed:But then he starts smiling. Here we see Jungkook smiling. And he looks like he is relieved. He regrets that he fought with him and blames himself for his death.

Part 2 meaning of the lyrics:
Okay they are about to take a picture and we see Jin, right? After the scene with the pictures we see Jhope:And it seems like Jhope only remembered how he and the others (including Jin) used to take pictures like that before Jin died. That would explain why he looked so sad and then lied down again.They all seem distressed. This again is another hint. For a second the expression of the boys’ change and they don’t look happy anymore, because in real life they are suffering. But again, in this present only their expressions change, whereas in the real world they are suicidal. The thing is, we usually saw how one member at a time changed from happy to sad, but here we have Jungkook, Suga, Jimin and Jhope doing that at the same time and that is because their situation is getting worse and worse. Then a happy moment comes again.Jimin starts looking distressed.
And after that we suddenly see Jungkook standing in front of Jin and Jin looks up.Their eyes meet and Jin once again realises that something is wrong.The picture changes to right before the boys start vandalizing the cars:And at first Jungkook looks serious but then suddenly he’s not on the car anymore, but instead he’s with the boys, looking all excited and happy. In this mv the boys constantly change from happy to sad/distressed/serious and the hints start to appear more and more often, but judging by how fast these sad scenes are interrupted by happy ones, it seems as if Jin is fighting against the reality. He’s fighting against those hints because he still doesn’t want to fully understand what’s going on and accept the fact that he’s dead. Then the boys start vandalizing cars while Jin just watches them. Just like with V and Rap Monster (graffiti)the fact that they’re doing something bad in Jin’s illusion shows us that they are sinning in the real world. And Jin is only watching because he’s oblivious to that fact. This is related to the real world. Because there, Jin’s death was the reason why Jimin became suicidal and tried to drown himself in the bathtub. That’s why here in this picture, Jin is pulling Jimin into the bathtub.
While Jimin’s head is being pushed into the water, we again see V drowning. Then something very important happens:Jin looks to his left while V looks to his right. They make eye contact, meaning that they notice each other. And that wouldn’t be possible if one of them hadn’t joined the realm of the other one.
So this scene shows us that V dies.As you can see there are only 6 members and a car (from the viewers pov). This could mean that the person sitting in the car is Jin since he’s the only one who we can’t see and was also seen driving a car before. The picture shows us that Jungkook is looking back at Jin, but the weird thing is no one else does that. Just Jungkook. But you see, at first Jungkook does look kind of distressed:But then he starts smiling. Here we see Jungkook smiling. And he looks like he is relieved.
Then at the end of the mv we see this: Remember when at the beginning V fell into the water? Back then he was also surrounded by darkness.
So basically, at the beginning of RUN we see V jumping in, during the mv we see him drowning/dying and at the end he emerges from the water.
Let me explain: Jin also died because of suicide. He fell into the water (like V), drowned (like V) but the difference between him and V are the surroundings they “wake up to”.When Jin “woke up” he was in a white room, wearing white clothes:But when V woke up, he was still surrounded by the same darkness that was following him before he jumped into the water:
Another difference is that Jin was holding a Lily. And the basic meaning of those flowers is “death followed by purity” or “restored innocence”.
V is not holding a Lily and is surrounded by darkness. Jin is holding a Lily and is surrounded by white things. V killed someone and sinned. Jin didn’t. So Jin woke up with a restored innocence, but even death could not free V from his sins.On the pictures that are taken/seen in the real world Jin is missing and on the pictures taken/seen in Jin’s world the boys are missing.
And this again shows how death separates them.
Jimin burns that picture of him and the boys (without Jin). And do you notice how Jimin is wearing the same clothes as when he was in the bathtub in Jin’s world?: So that means during the time Jimin was in the bathtub in Jin’s world, he also was in there in the real world. And that “happy moment” in Jin’s reality was actually another hint.Even though Jimin believes that someday everything will be okay again and that happy times will come back (even if its without Jin), he still has trouble fully accepting Jin’s death, which is why he burns the picture in RUN and the letter in I NEED U.
Lastly: The reason why they’re running is because they’re trying to get away from reality because otherwise they can’t be together
