- We explore violence at Thomson prison in Illinois, a deadly federal facility; sit down with actor La La Anthony to hear how she works to prepare young people for life on the outside; and see how a simple hobby helped a child with a life sentence continue to grow.

Inside Story is a first-of-its-kind series created to engage with and bring information to one of America’s largest news deserts - its prisons and jails. The series from The Marshall Project was developed by formerly incarcerated people, including host Lawrence Bartley and director Donald Washington, Jr.

im struggling to figure out why this has so few exposure and views
I'm pretty sure this series started with VICE, but recently VICE played off most of their employees so I could see this as having come over from that.
thank you!
Yeah in February, Vice Media announced more mass layoffs. We partnered with VICE News to produce season 1 which aired originally last year and we recently uploaded on our channel. The Marshall Project's Lawrence Bartley and Donald Washington Jr., who are Inside Story's host and director respectively, conceived of the show. (You can see an earlier concept on our channel.)
This is a bit off-topic: What would actually happen if you abolished forced labor in prisons and introduced the statutory minimum wage?
Wouldn't that remove many incentives to throw people in prison or even cause the system to collapse?
Definitely not, best case senerio the government just relies on illegal imagrants to fill the jobs and then prisoners loose that time outside there cell
That's a good question
