Scott, I’ve been crying all morning bc of a leak. I pray this is what’s wrong bc I do not have money to buy a new washer. Thank you SO much for your great video. Crossing my fingers!
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel it worked!! It’s fixed! I noticed that the spring was caught in the basket. After some investigating I realized it’s because my basket goes completely wild when there is an uneven load. I checked to see if it was level and it was, so now I’m trying to figure out why it’s having so much trouble distributing the weight inside while spinning. Thanks for the reply and the helpful video!!
Thank you for posting. Why lean the machine back only partially? Wouldn't it be easier to disconnect the external hoses and lay the machine on its back completely? Thank you
Hi Scott, I have a whirlpool machine just over the warranty period (13 months) of course. I just started getting a small bit of water in the front of the machine when it runs. Could the pump fail so fast, or could there be another issue?
got a problem! some threading come off a piece of clothing and now water is leaking from the bottom (assuming from the pump) if I take it apart and nothing there, what should I look into next?? thanks
Well, that looked easy enough. I have an 18 year old GE that just started a small leak at the rear. While I knew this could be the culprit, all the advice was to get a pro repair man to do that. OR replace the machine. Now I have a 3rd option to consider. And no, neither the fill hoses or drain line have leaks. Dust/lint dry in those places. Btw, a small flat pan instead of a towel would have been a better choice for that much water coming out. ;)
You probably dont care at all but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me
@Luis Cayden Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Where did you order your replacement part? I can't quite read the label in the video. I see parts on Amazon but wondered if there was a place to do official replacement parts or if that was necessary.
I have a Roper brand washer, which I believe is made by Whirlpool, and it is leaking out the bottom front. I am watching the different stages or cycles to see when it leaks, and it is definitely leaking while it's filling. When it starts agitating it seems fine. For a couple seconds when the agitation stops and it is switching to drain, it releases a little water but seems fine once it starts draining. Same thing when the pump stops draining it seems to release a little while switching to spin but then seems fine during the spin. Then of course while it's filling for the rinse, it is running out the front again, then again stops during agitation, releases a little while switching to drain, is fine during draining, releases a little while switching to spin, and is fine during spinning. Could this be the cause? I don't know ANYTHING about washers, have never even looked inside or underneath, but I think I can follow a video if it's simple enough. I don't know anything about the transmission, but thinking of how a car transmission switches the gears, could this be a problem with the washer transmission? Or do you think it could still be this pump seal?
what if you have a leak where the water is coming into the tub? Every time we use the washing machine now there's about 3-4 inches of water inside the tub when we open the lid to put clothes in.
my washer does not have a removable front,,,,,maytag centennial commercial technology model MVWC425BWO. washer is leaking in the front can you help THERE ARE NOT AND BREAKS IN THE METAL FROM FRONT TO CONTINUE ALONG THE SIDES. ONLY TO BACK DO I HAVE TO WORK WITH THAT AND REMOVE THE BACK FOR A PROBLEM BELIEVED IN THE FRONT. WILL IT JUST COLLAPSE OR ARE THERE SUPPORTS TO HOLD FORM OF WASHER.
I have a kitchenaid machine which is made by whirlpool. My pump developed a leak and unfortunately over time it damaged the shaft of my 3 speed motor. This motor is no longer manufactured and is near impossible to find used. So I'm either stuck cleaning up the old motor or buying another machine. Shame since this is a great washer and not looking forward to buying a new one.
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel yes. It does. The pump was a pain to remove since it was rusted in place. Took an hour to get it off there since I didn't want to damage the motor in any way.
Yep, It’s just called a water pump. If you put your model number and a Google search with the word water pump. You’ll see about a companies that sell the water pump for pretty cheap.

Check Walmart... lowest price(s) if they carry your part. Type in your model number.
Hi. As soon as water enters my machine, it leaks out the bottom front. Its a whirlpool about 15 years old. do you think it may be the pump?

Oh wait. Now that the washer is completely through with all cycles and is off, it is running out the front right now.
Hi Joy, I would replace the water pump👍
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel thank u!
Yaaaay! I did it, and no more leak. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I have a Roper and same thing!!! 🤔 Just started last week!
If the washer starts leaking soon as it starts filling, is it the pump or tub seal? Any help is much appreciated, thankyou.
You can lean it against the wall and look for the wet spot.
what if you have a leak where the water is coming into the tub? Every time we use the washing machine now there's about 3-4 inches of water inside the tub when we open the lid to put clothes in.
Just need to replace the leaky inlet valve . It’s really easy.

Can you pull it away from the wall and then tip it back so you can see all the parts underneath to find a wet spot?
What is that white thing connected to the hoses called?
That’s the water pump.
That’s what is leaking.
It’s cheap and easy to replace👍
One more thing I took off the two metal Things holding it and its still not coming off.
Just wiggle it and pry it off with a large screwdriver.
I would like to see a cloesup of where the pump attaches to the machine.
U don’t wana see that sandy.

The seal or hose go by the 8 year mark! That's interesting but makes sense.
