Temporary greenhouses - do they work?

- Have you seen those cheap, temporary greenhouses online? I bought & built one to see if they actually work. While they’re not the coolest looking, they are comparatively less expensive and do in-fact work. There’s some caveats though. You need to weigh them down so they don’t move during strong winds. They can get extremely warm in full sun during the day so definitely keep an eye on temperature. That being said, unless you use a heat lamp, these don’t hold heat at night so you may have to bring in seedlings to protect from frost temperatures. All that being said… do they work? Yeah. And for $60, they work a lot better than I expected. Do you have a temporary greenhouse like this?

Hah - I had to chase mine down despite weighing it down! But they do heat up nicely!
I have one wind took it over when I was gone and broke some plastic joiners. My son has 3d machine and made me spares. I also made another cover out of frost cover fabric that can go over top so I can use it longer.
So they are ok during the first season but they don't last. What you DO get is a nice foundation. So even tho it's flimsy you can redo the joints and lining. That's what I did to mine. :) Instead of throwing it away I refurbished it. :)
They’re amazing in my opnion, i’ve had one for three years now and while it may not be the most sustainable option, it works very well and for 60 dollars i had a lot of fun for the past 3 years… i’m gonna get a new and bigger one soon but i think the money is totally worth it!
I got one of these. It's put together in my garage. Waiting for the snow to stop to take it outside
I’ve had success and failures with these depending on the design (hoops house/A-frame/ pop up). Great quick review. Definitely need something to hold down.
I put mine on a couple pallets and used those u fasteners, then just some weight on the pallets and you have a floor, for the cost of the hardware
I have that exact one on my deck. I used conduit straps to hold mine down.
I got one and have it in between my trailer and back porch with a shade cloth over it happily housing my philodendrons and monsteras
Year max in the desert even under a patio it worked awesome before the plastic cover started to fall apart
I have one going un its 4th year...some problen with the zip..but its great for the money....I have 2 more from last year, they work great and you can move if needed...mine are big ones and I oove them
Me too. Going on my fourth year. Two of this size and one bigger one.
this is cool
Thanks
These get colder than the outside air at night, wierd but true. It's 5 coldee
Mine was useless over the winter. All my plants and cuttings were all frozen and died. Ok during the summer.
Lasted a day with the winds we get in Wales uk, even weighed down and reinforced
They do work but you should have a cinder block at the bottom of both shelves. I have two one lasted two years and the other lasted a year. They kept my plants happy but I HATED ITTT. Im currently planning on building a 8x9 greenhouse.
Get the Eagle Peak pop up its okay
within 1 year the plastic had holes everywhere. we didn’t even use it
They don't last long
What's the cost😊
They suck the plastic is cheap and will only last a couples months then holes all over the plastic do not buy
That's what happened to mine😅 ended up using the poles for stakes and halloween decorations.
Bought one yesterday put it up and the zip was broken instantly i dont recommend
It was only 45 degrees outside but inside that was almost 100 degrees?!??
Oh god oh no
That plastic does not last in the UV
Litteraly it will disintegrate into dust and get into your soil.
lol yeah, mine only lasted a season. But I refurbished mine by relining it and reinforcing the structure. :)
This is piece of crap greenhouse. It blew down even with bricks holding it on the bottom. Had plants everywhere
Save your money and don't buy that greenhouse. I have the exact same one in this video, and it didn't last a week. I have a video on my yt channel about this greenhouse.
🫢🫢..Not bag of Nuts..
how much and are they good for growing weed 🤔
probably very well.... it will work best if you place the plastic greenhouse on your front porch for more light.
Thanks
