Saw 3 MiG-17F's multiple times fly this week at EAA. The burner flame is so rudimentary, you can hear and see it's a 1st Gen AB. Awesome during the night shows. Love it though. The 17's will always be some of my fav planes in this game.
It's a shame they didn't add the Lim-5M or Lim-6Bis/Lim-6M (the 6M has 3x23mm and is lighter than Bis, but doesn't have a drag chute, while 5M is chonkier but gets a stronger gear and RATO) instead, as Germany has been given basically all the variants after Poland stopped using them ;/
Just got this yesterday, perfect timing. Coming from 6.0 Germany it was weird to be in the Mig-15 and basically be untouchable to a lot of planes (including F-104s). Then I got in this thing and I feel...even more powerful. Good times (gotta remember to turn off the AB for AIM-9Bs though).
I've been grinding aces on my shenyang and the only difference is occasional f-5c which mostly start running away after you start gaining on them. Also PL-2s are great at farming bots
@user-lh5pf4ji3q i already have 700 kills in the Shenyang, after 9.3 becomes playable again I'll try getting to 1000 For now though I'll play the 15bis/J-2 and 17/J-4 instead

Based on the title you've never used the skill guided s-21 missiles on the mig-15 bis and mig 17 which this thing can't carry. You should try them tho they take a lotta practice to use effectively.
Joob, I’m not sure about the real shatter “fix” since I sent a couple 23mms rounds into a radial engine and it did nothing. How must I please the real shatter gods???????

Its Mig-17PF, F is the one that have afterburner and P for the radar+3x23mm combine all it became 17PF

I love its HUD for SB, actually displays the locked target perfect for low light combat since most of vehicles at his bracket in SB doesnt have a RWR

you can just turn for aim9bs, you dont need to turn the AB off
still love 3x23mm more than 2x23 and 1x37mm because muzzle break of those gun is quite different

The Lim-5P is a very nice plane, but I could never get past the looks, nor the lack of a 37mm. I want my Shenyang bussin again 😭

0:23 mig 17 as but with 2 r3s at the same br is my best opinion
With the same pilot, it should be better than the AS.. maybe not in terms of how much meat you can harvest, but in terms if dueling.
