    When you grab onto the top of the rope, you allow your shoulders to internally rotate, and pressing straight down with a grip that’s way too close at the bottom will start to work your lower chest. So for more tricep isolation, roll your shoulders back and puff out your chest, and think of pulling the weight out behind you rather than pushing it forward for slight shoulder extension at the bottom and a full contraction of the tricep.

    How are you going to use your chest if the cable is coming from over your head and you're not pulling your arms inwards, you're pushing them outwards. How? That's not how the chest works.

      Try to really think about that scapula retraction and just starting light on the weight and really focusing on going slow with strict form with locked in elbows until you get a feel for it

    It only uses more of your chest shoulders if your scapula isnt protacted. The lower you grab it the more you can pull your wrists apart and put more tension on your lateral head. The shorter you grab it, the closer your wrists will be to eachother. That creates more tension on your medial and long head.

    Ntgl, I've tried holding it from top to midway and honestly the next day I was sore like I haven't been in a while, I would say try it out but do them right, and see what you prefer but that's just my two cents (BTW I've always been holding it from the very bottom but decided to try it out, why not and yup it gave me a crazy pump and got sore 🤟)

    The rope pushdown hurts my shoulders even if I squeeze my scapular. I just resorted to the v bar very comfortable on my shoulder

    Don’t even need to spread it out at the end. Point of the rope is to keep your arms at shoulder width.

      He's leaning forward. He's right. But...... You can grab the upper part of the rope if your standing more erect. Watch an early training video with bodybuilder Charles Glass. He was training before these lads were born. 🤦‍♂️😆

    I prefer the overhead variant to this one. If you want to do the push, do the bar press down and press it down and away to avoid elbow issues

    elbows out front, extend your arms, all triceps. arms in close, elbows tucked less activation. Put your hands wherever you want. high or low doesnt matter.
