- Poland, a beautiful country where I grew up - Malopolska County. My last trip is memorized in this movie, recorded from camcorder and DJI Phantom Drone. Places: Zakopane, Tatra Mountain, Zalew Czorsztynski, Jezioro Klimkowskie, Niedzica Castle, Czorsztyn, Castle, Jordanow, Royal City Krakow, Wawel, Bielanka, Gorlice.
My heart is still in Poland, all my life
I taught English in Skierniewice south of Warsaw in 1987 and 88. I visited in 2016. What huge difference! I miss Poland. Thank you for this video~

Very beautiful thank you! I wish I could learn this incredibly difficult language and be able to communicate with Poles in their country. I am trying but it will take me at least 150 years...

Glad to see so many churches in poland. They need to repent for their betrayal and sins against their Jewish neighbors and friends during ww2. One example is the Kielce, which occurred in 1946, one year after the war.
Mark, history is not so easy like you think. It depends where are you live and what you read. You can meet many interpretations. Many similar situations happened in whole Europe including not only Germany but France or Italy and many others. In Poland occupied by Germans in WW2, the polish people were killed if they hide any Jew person. It was the only one country in Europe where families or villages were killed just because they hided Jewish person. No media is saying it that now. Before WW2 almost 25% of population in Poland were Jewish people including Ukraine (not existed at this time and being in the polish territory). All the Jewish people were killed by German soldiers, not Nazi soldiers.
Some castles of Poland may be German castles in a previous era. Many Polish houses in pictures and such youtube videos in many places of Poland look German, were gifted, but built by Germans long ago, earlier when that territory was Germany a century or two centuries ago. Every time the winning allies of ww2 had a chance, they gave HUGE chunks of German lands from Germany to Poland. eg. Gdansk, and 700 German villages, and 70 percent of East Prussia was given to Poland. So most houses in border ares , and many Poles of other areas of Poland look Like German country-side houses of places like Poznan,Gdansk. Poles were lucky that they faced wrath of Germany, and in that they almost always lost Germany in battles. After the war was won, Poles got more German territory, century after century.

Germany is beautiful too. I was there many times. I have even family there (three generations) ;). The movie shows south of Poland, which never was in German territory though. North of Poland was joined to Poland at the beginning XI-XII century . Gdansk joined to Polish territory earlier, in 980. In 1308, the town was taken by the Teutonic Knights who were invited by one of polish leaders to help him to fight with many tribes (not only Prussian one) who harassed inhabitants. The knights conquered the tribes and took over the town including Polish north territories without consent of Polish King. Finally, Teutonic Knights cut Poland from access to the Baltic Sea. The knights built many castles on the territory started to threat the Poland. In 1410 Polish-Lithuanian army destroyed Teutonic Knights in a Battle of Tannenberg (Grunwald). One of the biggest battle in Middle Age time. By the end of XV century Teutonic Knights were banished and Poland recovered territory and access to the sea for next 300 years, being at that time one of the biggest and strongest countries in Europe. By the end of XVIII century Poland lost independence for over 100 years. In that time Polish People were forced to learn German, and Russian language and culture. In Gdansk you can see many buildings built in German way at that time. It doesn't means there were no Polish people at that time there. Germans wanted to destroy polish language and culture and replace it by German one. Similar situation was in territory taken from Poland by Russia. Poland never had a nice neighborhood. Finally Poland recovered independence in 1918. At the beginning of 1989 polish society started changes which changed the whole Western World. Poland replaced communist government with democratic one. This ignition began changes in Eastern Communist Block of countries, including Eastern Germany and Russia. By the end of 1989, the Berlin Wall felt down and both sides of German country finally joined officially in 1990 to one. Poland is hardly marked by history. The results you can see in many towns, people faces and characters. It is wrong to draw false conclusions from selected facts. I visit Europe and Poland every three years and every time I visit it, it seems more and more beautiful.
