It's a plague that has destroyed everything that was once beautiful, special and meaningful. Let's keep the Western European and North American tourists as deep in their prejudices and ignorance about Central Europe as we only can! And AWAY from my beautiful Poland! (Or the Balkans!)

Polish-American girl - proud of her polish heritage, proud of her roots; simply awesome. Parents raised this girl really well, should be inspiration for other Poles living in America or anywhere in the world. An awesome video Aggie - you did a great job with it.
My Aunt Helen Babyak was from the Polish mountains, Zakopane...an incredible cook, full of love & kindness. She was married to a Croatian (only in America) ; I was told. He was my Uncle Steve Kalashnik ; whom my parents had adopted, when he & his brother were, tragically, orphaned. Uncle Steve was one of my papa's "old newsboys". Papa was Mr. Daily News, a newspaperman till death.

I was in Zakopane 2 years ago. We went to a restaurant that I believe was in a hotel. It had the musicians like you see at 2:22. We listened and danced during dinner. There was a Canadian and an American musician living there that did all the talking. They explained the culture, the clothes, food, etc. It was a fun evening and the food was great.
Absolutely beautiful video ! It's on the border with Slovakia and there are very similar customs like the music, national costume, and we understand Polish.

Watching you on Gubalowka brought tears to my eyes 27 years ago when we wore cutting school ( High school in Nowy Targ ) we would go there and spend the whole day watching mountains and complaining about life and thinking how one day we gonna get out of this place and make our lives rich . Now I see my own kids having all the stuff playing games all day it suddenly came to me that this was the richest time of my life !! And yes we ran up and down since we had no money for the tram !
Mate totally get you, I moved to London 3 years ago from place called Ustron in Beskid Mountains in south of Poland always complained about how shitty and boring this place was now every time i go back i appreciate the highlander culture and realise how stunning my hometown is, grass is always greener on the other side.
