I'm a 28 year old South African and became Muslim in 2014. The best decision ever. By the grace of Allah my eldest brother is showing intention to also become Muslim. This is the greatest thing to happen for me cause I'm not married nor have any children yet so Islam would've stopped in my family if anything would happen to me.... All thanks to God my brother are married and have children therefore If he becomes Muslim then my surname "White" will continue with Muslims in our family.

Honestly, every cities/regions have their own uniqueness and characteristic. Can you imagine that Indonesia has 18,000 islands with different cultures, foods, languages and vibes. I think you'll be mesmerized and amazed with the experiences. Anyway the price of foods/meals inexpensive here, many foreigners suprised with affordable price here. For example for donuts in US$ ranges approx around US$ 0.50/piece. Coffee Aceh is so delicious and popular, in aceh you will get not only black coffee, but there has so many kind of it, the most popular is 'sanger' that mixed of coffee and condensed milk with in a special process, the tasted is so good, maybe the one who doesn't like coffee would be fallin in love with this drink
as indonesian we eat with hand just for rice thing 😂, and depend situation,
we eat noodle etc just like a normal using fork/spoon 😂
About the tradition eat meals with bare hand, I don't think so to every kind of food. Like Waseem did in this video to the noodle is so funny, even Indonesians eat noodles not with their bare hand, but using a fork.😊

Doing Ramadan in Indonesia is easier because we are fasting only for like 13 hours from sunrise to the sunset the challenges for fasting here is heat and humidity, but if you live in Bandung maybe it feels a lots better because it's a highland has much lower temperature than the other city
Indonesia's most famous vacation spot is in the city :
1.North Sumatra, there's Lake Toba (Medan City)
2.Jakarta City is famous for MONAS, KOTA TUA, Ancol Beach, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII).

If you came to Indonesia just for Bali, you don't have to learn Indonesian language, because most of the locals speaks english very well.
But if you visit Indonesia other than Bali (Java etc), at least you should learn basic Indonesian (basic greeting, numbers) language and make sure your phone ready for google translate.
But wherever you are in Indonesia do not hesitate to ask for help, even with language barrier they are always doing their best to help you, and don't forget to smile even to a stranger, because smile is a sign of friendlyness & respect. 😁
