How has it been behaving in these last months?? a cintiq is my dream tablet also, but i have read a lot of cases of defective ones that sudddenly die after some months (or ones that come with defects )
Those reviews are most likely old. It did have issues when it first launched but they are pretty much gone now. I’ve had mine for two years and couldn’t really imagine going back to Huion.
What's your take on all the extra bells and whistles? Do you really need the remote control, the touch, and 4k res? I'm doing quite okay with the HD 16' base model
My 21UX has buttons and a touch strip on the back edges on both sides and I became accustomed to using them. I missed this on my HD 16” and so bought the EK Remote which has more functionality than the buttons on the old 21UX. It’s a convenience and smaller than most keyboards, even the 10” bluetooth keyboard I’m using for typing file and layer names. Now I am wanting to upgrade to this tablet and only wish they’d installed USB into the 16” for the dongle. Touch is double edged on this as it has poor palm rejection, but if you wear a glove this shouldn’t be a big issue. 4K speaks for itself, better detail and less eye strain for me and yet I did fine using the 21UX and still have it on my desk attached to an Ergotron arm. This is the only thing missing from the newer model and that seems odd to me but must have to do with the panel which removes for the computer module not being trustworthy for this use. I feel they should have come up with a way to deal with it for those who like their tablet on an arm which gives it more mobility and frees desk space.
@@FreeSpokenOne thanks for the detailed reply . I'm thinking of getting the 22' HD as my next cintiq. What do you think about that. The 24 pro is a bit beyond budget, so I don't know if I should get this or the xp pen 22pro
@@yoservs My pleasure Saaid. If you can’t wait to save up for the 4K version, like myself you’ll adapt to the 22” HD which is a sure step up from my 21UX. If you can’t make this pay for itself or it cuts into your budget in a way that is hard to recover, you can work with what you can afford until you can afford more. I went from Intuos3 Platinum 12X16” to the Intuos4 medium, to the Cintiq 13” (then called a Hummingbird) which was ridiculously tiny and can be seen in my profile photo, then 21UX clamped to that same desk later with an Ergotron that barely held it up and is clamped onto a huge Studio desk where I now live, then a 16” over the course of 14 years but the 16” is a little small while fitting nicely in my lap using a recliner. The 24” would rest on the arms of the same recliner! Space makes all the difference in your work area and on screen, but so does the impact it has to stare into a monitor tablet any length of time, so I turn brightness down to help. Wacom simply makes the best tablet on the market which is why I have stayed with them. Look at how long my 21UX has lasted (still going strong) and think as to how long you may live with your decision. Personally, I can’t imagine being happy with the XP Pen 22 Pro for as long and from what I’ve heard from other digital artists, they feel similarly about the differences in cheaper tablets and Wacom. They don’t compare but they do save money, so my advise is always to get the Wacom in whatever size you can financially swing. You can recoup from selling to someone who can’t afford new and move up as long as you take good care of your device, use it gently, don’t leave it on more than necessary, watch nib wear, keep it covered with a microfiber towel you can wipe it down with, and clean. This is why all of my old devices look so good still, even the 2008 Intuos Platinum blind tablet which was a beauty in it’s day. Aaron Rutten does great reviews on Wacom and other tablets here on RUclips, take a look at what he has to say about them too, his advise is golden and he’s now a Painter Master Elite who makes a good living creating his excellent art.
@@FreeSpokenOne Thanks once again. You've convinced me to buy the cintiq 22HD. I've had no nib wear with the 16" HD over the last 2 years, probably because the screen doesn't have an etched texture like with the pro range monitors. I could never achieve a smooth brush line when i used to draw on paper with felt-tip pens (before i bought my pen display) ,my lines were always full of chips after i scanned them. So the smooth brush lines the HD monitors give is actually a welcome change, it enabled me to do what i could't before.
@@yoservs im torn right now between going from 16hd to the 24 pro or the 22hd. I like the idea of 4k and better colors on the 24pro but the fact that i cant use my current monitor arm is what kills it for me. I would have to buy wacoms super expensive ergonomic arm or stand which puts the price way more than i want to spend. With the 22hd i feel like all im upgrading is my screen size which i do want but it costs almost twice what the 16 did but theres no other benefits. I feel like a 22pro would be perfect but thats the one thing they dont make
I was wondering what the pen feels like on the screen, I’m deciding between this or a iPad Pro with Apple Pencil 2nd gen and I love the feeling of kinda like rubber or just not like something sliding across a glass screen, it feels rougher instead. What would you describe the feeling of the pen when drawing against the screen?
Thanks for the review, I got the 24 touch, and I have a question. Do you need the HDMI cable to connect the screen to your laptop? I realized that you only connected the USB C. Thank you
She explained that when she was talking about hooking it up. If you use USB C you don't need another cable to connect to the computer. Just that one and power.
The instructions from Wacom and support are terrible. I found that using HDMI I couldn't use usb-c so I used the USB-A to USB-A connection but it only worked if I used the usb-a port under the display, not the ones on the side. This is actually in the instructions but it's easy to wrongly think you could use the side ones
So after some time testing it out (only been a few days) I can say I'm quite happy with it. The overall feeling and accuracy is great, setup required some fiddling (I have no Laptop, and the PC Mainboard is not prepared for using the USB-C connector. It does work fine with DP+USB though) and I have to get used to the new workflow (it is really big and I can't use my keyboard well with it) Some annoyance I have is that I can't properly us it with my Monitor. If I use both devices the pen refuses to work correctly - this seems due to having 2 different resolution displays active. So I have to switch between it and my monitor depending on what I do (regular working or gaming vs. drawing). Also, my old Photoshop doesn't scale the icons and the menu properly, so everything is very small now. Overall I can't blame the Cintiq for that, and I may find some solutions. However, the drawing itself does feel great, so I'd say it will be worth it in the future.
Revival of old comment… But just in case you are living with the same setup. Go into your display settings and put ‘Scale to 200%’ for your Wacom tablet. If you are using Nvidia everything should be fine if you set display through your OS if not set Nvidia cc to the same scale.
OK I know many will say is EXPENSIVE, let's analyze it, first if you are a professional that uses a tablet as a work tool it is true you make the job, not the tool but a good tool can help you up a lot, first please nobody even try to mention the Ipad pro because the Ipad Pro lack in too many things to can be considered as a tool is just AN EXPENSIVE TOY, back to top, Wacom versus other brands, the first that came to my mind is the cheapest one I believe still can get the job done a pro-level that is the Huin Kanvas 13 pro in around US$250 range in the other hand the cheapest Wacom Cintiq is the 16S in around US$650 is a considerable difference then to be more fair let's put a Huion of 16" that's around US$400 leaving us a US$250 difference range, then which one is better??? I believe in terms of performance we will not see too much difference but in terms of manufacturing and materials quality is no doubt a difference because even Huin improved a lot in the last 2 years Wacom products are still of better quality what will differ in longevity then we need to establish one thing How often do you buy a pen tablet? I normally will say unless dramatic technological advances you will wait from 2 to even 5 years and the more you use a device the more attached you get to it, then the best combo I can imagine is the Wacom Cintiq S16+ Wacom express keys control+ Wacom Link plus (to make your Wacom wireless) that all together right now is in a price of US$800 and here is where you ask can HUION tablets can connect wirelessly and yes SOME models can not sure which ones and I don't see it like people go for it much, but still is for those stubborn kids fans of the Ipad, yes Wacom can work perfectly wirelessly I can ensure it myself, but let's put wireless capability apart, I believe the pro-level size for long time work is between 16" to 24" range I know are many who loves HUGE screens but are not necessary then just bare with the normal range plus the bigger the screen the hardest to work in terms of effort make a short line is always easier than a long one and that applies in this case the bigger the screen the more work you put into your shoulders and elbow it is a ratio relation about the drawing size where you stop drawing with the wrist because is a small size draw and you star using the elbow in medium size until you work with your ehsoulders to make big size lines, then probable the more comfortable size is between 16 to 22 inches for long periods of time drawing and I believe a wacom cintiq S16 combo like I mentioned is more than enough of course if you can allow it go for bigger screen size but still the S16 is more than enough to get the job done and last to mention you normally want to work with same brand line where you can use your stuff in your next improvement and the express keys control and the link plus will work if you buy again a cintiq of bigger screen size then are re usable if you keep working with this brand, then from a professional perspective I believe spend US$800 in premium tools is a GREAT investment
I have contacted before buying Cintiq Pro 24 russian and american Wacom support about new releases, they both told that no plans in nearest future to produce new pro version, i think next 3 years will be new compact versions only.
God bless those that can afford this, God bless those who aspire to have it and are making concerted efforts to come up with the dough to buy this...aka me!!😅😅😅
I've heard too many issues with quality control to buy one. I can't afford to spend 3K for it to possibly break after a year. Plus pretty well everyone has said ipad drawing experience is far better. I'll probably just stick with ipad and cheaper drawing monitors unless cintiq makes a new one that competes with ipad and has better quality control. Wish I could get one but not worth the gamble.
From professional perspective I can tell you who ever told you an iPad pro is better than a computer+cintiq combo is blatantly lying to you, is truth can run photoshop and Clip STudio Paint (I don't mentioned Procrate because isn't any good for professional work because the brushes limitations) first let's judge the more important things Navigation: both have pros and cons Ipad pro navigations is touch and very intuitive that could make you feel good working on it (it is a version of cintiq pro with that have the same feature and is full touchscreen) but no a big amount of hotkeys and shortcuts that brings the second important thing WORKFLOW and in this aspect the iPad pro start to looks like a kinder toy because the workflow in iPad is awfully low in comparison with a keyboard or express keys control (of any brand clip mate works great too and wacom express keys controls works with any tablet) this aspect is very important in pro level because Ipd can't keep the pace of a computer at all (from storage, operating system, ram and video capacity etc) the iPad is a great device for an enthusiast but not good at all for professional work, talking about drawing experience ok from a man that made a living in animation for over 3 decades I will tell you this straight DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY IN AN IPAD PRO the only exclusive feature an aipad provides in portability and that doesn't requires to be wired to a computer (wacom has a wireless kit) let's compare prices wacom cintiq 16" $650+ wacom express key control $80 + cacom link plus (to make her wireless) $70 for a total of US$800 in the other hand the OVERPRICED Ipad Pro of only 11" and 256GB what means you will need probably external storage units and add also a hundred dollars for the apple pencil summary you are spending over a thousand dollars for a very limited device and the drawing experience on it is not the best with the new cintiq etched glass and antiglare film is the BEST emulating traditional pencil work while the iPad feels cheap and ABSOLUTE artificial, believe me I game my iPad pro to my 8 years old because is just that AN EXPENSIVE TOY isn't at all a work tool, then if you really care of your money please dont make my mistake to follow trends and fashions that doesn't last because the Ipad Pro is just a toy dont waste your money, go for the cintiq16"=express control+link plus combo and believe me you will not regret, isn't a single technical specification the iPad excel over the wacom tables NONE
Ipad PRO is not better, it's small, and its hardware limits especially the number of layers in Procreate because of RAM, I have 32GB on PC, it is heaven, FREEDOM. Every time someone writes how the iPad PRO is better than the Cintiq I have to laugh a lot.

I found this video very useful. Thank you for sharing.
Parece um monitor de tão grande, adoro vídeos assim
These tablet be expensive for no damn reason but loved the video, and if u have another pen display u want to give away I would love to get it.
i mean this has reason to be expensive lol, other models maybe not.
Anyone use this for photo editing and retouching??
How is your career going?
This cintiq is the best purchase i ever made.
It’s crazy that this doesn’t come with a stand lol. They want people to use this giant thing at such a low angle?
You should’ve waited till the end of this year, the New Cintiq Pros come out early 2022 I believe
There’s a new cintiq pro
@@jamesrichardson1836 yes next year
@@penny9207 totally, everyone has different timing, agree 👍
@Zero Wolf can you point me where there is info about the new cintiq pros? I don't see anywhere where they are announced or even leaked. Thanks.
I have contacted before buying Cintiq Pro 24 russian and american Wacom support about new releases, they both told that no plans in nearest future to produce new pro version, i think next 3 years will be new compact versions only.
looks like it has horrible input lag @ 12:30
beo ,that smoothing fiture from ps ,for delay or not , maybe 70-90%
Wow . . . . . . . Yay! . . . . . . . 😊

Very good review. Thanks.
Now, 2024, I guess the better option is ipad or tablet, since its more portable and cheaper, plus the apps are a lot better nowadays...

I used Wacom since 2010 professionally, never had an issue. iPad pro is a more amateur experience
Lol i always pulled the nibs with my teeth
4 out of 5 dentists agree, this is a bad idea
