Awww man! Thank you so much for this! This whole thing had me scratching m,y head for ages! I had missed the little (tiny, tiny...) arrow to show the second page with the "update" button... thaty's all I needed and now habe the 2.8.1 firmware successfully installed. Why isn't there a chapter in the user guide called "Update Firmware"? If there is, I couldn't find it! Thanks again, Matthew, for the help. New Subscriber...

Hi Matthew, I use my MPC one for church in a live setting and as a bass player it sometimes get difficult to hit the play start and stop button while playing. My question being is there a way to use a footswtich like on the MPC 1000 or MPC X. Thank you.

Great channel, things are well explained and it makes the MPC one bit less daunting, for myself!
My recently purchased MPC one refuses to update, either by direct connection to a macbook pro or Mini Mac. or by USB drive.
At the moment its version 2.7
I get error message "Please connect to mains power" if I use a cable , or "there is something wrong with the update file", if i use USB.
Im on the verge of sending it back , but would prefer to get it to work.
Ive looked on forums and it seems other users seem to have the same issue.
Ive pressed the reset button but is there something you can suggest that might work

Hi. I think your videos are great! I have a question. I tried to update my firmware and so far so good until I press the update button on my PC....then it says 'MPC is not plugged in...please connect the power supply and retry'...
I know it's plugged and it is powered on because I navigated to the update mode...is it a possibility that it has something to do woth my power suppy

Hey bro , i'm facing an issue with my brand new mpc one , after working on it for like 15 to 20 mins when i use other functions like using the knobs and searching for a new library in browse function , my mpc touch doesn't work when i go to main i can't click on the piano roll and also on the other options below my touch doesn't work , i have to restart my mpc for this problem to get fixed but again same problem happens after i work on it for like 15 to 20 mins??

Hi, so this was the first thing I did when I unpacked my mpc one. Worked perfectly (thanks!). However now I can’t figure out how to send a sample pack/kit from my computer to my mpc? Can I do it directly from my Mac or do I need to save the sample pack to an SD card for the transfer?
You have to plug your SD card directly into your computer and transfer it from there. As of right now you cannot access the SD card from the MPC One when connected to your computer.
Thank you! Can you go from Version 2.7 straight to 2.9 or do you need to install 2.8 first? It's possible I know but does it cause any problems possibly?
No problems that I am aware of.
Is it possible to do without a laptop connected mine just died and need to do update so can plug the 22 channel soundboard in to it by USB?

Hey Matthew.. nice channel.. I downloaded the update on my computer and it was good.. but then I noticed that when I sample, the monitor button was gone.. the one that let's you hear when your sampling...Do you or anyone else know how to fix it.. tnx
They changed it to say "IN"

Hey. Great videos Matthew really useful and to the point. I need some help Pls. So I've just put my mpc one into update mode connected to my computer and guess what? my usb lead doesn't work and I don't have another. Soonest I can get one is tomorrow. So question is can i turn off mpc one whilst in update mode or do I need to leave as it is until I get my lead tomorrow to finish update. Any help appreciated. Cheers
Turn it off at your own risk lol. I have turned it off in update mode before and didn't have any issue with it. It just boots up as normal when I turn it back on. I would say do not stop an update once it is started though.

@@mrbma2047 either your computer is messed up or your MPC is. You should contact Akai Pro support. If it is a MPC hardware issue you may have to ship it to get it fixed.
So Akai support got back to me and suggest I send it back under warranty. Still doesn't explain why the USB drive 2.8 firmware update file on thier website is corrupted though. They haven't answered that question. I can't imagine im the only person experiencing this issue.

You can download the USB image of the firmware and put it on a USB drive and update your MPC that way with out connecting it directly to your computer.

Do we need all the updates to use controller mode on pc
You only need the latest update.
I keep getting a prompt telling me to plug in my mpc which is clearly plugged in. If I do it with a thumb drive it says it detects an update. When i go to update it says that something went wrong. When I went to install the f9 expansion the only thing it uploaded was the bass. When I look in the file on my pc there is clearly way more than bass. Im so frustrated ive been coming back to it to try agaim for months. Im going to try reseting it. Im thinking maybe I maxed out the memory. Thats the best i can come up with. All my old project files were just for learning anyway. Ive reach a level where now i can start a project and walk away with a nice sounding beat everytime
hey I dont know if you can help but when I try to enter Update Mode by pressing SHIFT+Update my MPC one crashes and just turns off instead of resetting into Update Mode.
Do i need to download all of the firmware updates? Or just the latest one?

Hey Matthew,very helpful stuff here. Thanks for great. I'm close to pulling the trigger on your course, but I want to get through your initial INTRO video successfully. Unfortunately, when you go to add a synth track, (browse, then expansions) you say something like "I'm gonna click here, I'll assume you've already downloaded that." All I can see when I hit browse is "Factory Content" and "Demos and Templates" That third folder, the one where you find your synth sound...thats nowhere to be found on my system. So I figured maybe it was a Firmware thing. I was running 2.7.2, so thats how I ended up here, on this clip. I successfully updated to 2.9.1, but still that 3rd folder isn't here. Can you point me in the right direction for that so I can continue (follow along with) with your INTRO to clip? Sorry for long-winded post.

As a singer with classical training, my MPC has always been, err, me. (Plus a piano and pianist, but, ya know.) This is so informative and detailed. To update my MPC, I probably need to reincarnate? 😂 Yours seems easier.
what's the difference between firmware and software update?
Firmware is for the standalone mpc and the software is for you computer.
Why do I keep getting the "MPC not plugged in"? I am connected to my IMAC via USB and my MPC is update mode?

You're drivers are different than the firmware. You have to log into you Akai Pro account to find the drivers in the MPC 2 software manager. You can download the firmware on this page: www.akaipro.com/mpc-one
