Thanks for an inspiring video. I bought myself an 0-18. It stands up very well to my OM-18 Custom shop that I’ve had for 10 years. I play mostly Travis picking and James Taylor style and this guitar is absolutely perfect for me. 😊

I bought a new 0-18 a year ago and still amazed by how it sounds!
It came down between the 0-18 and a 00-18 in a side by side comparison, the 0-18 just spoke to me...

The 0-18 was the most popular model Martin sold for many years, the new version is easily the most playable acoustic I have ever picked up. To my ears it has a "sparkle" that the 00-18 did not have, and it is the quintessential "couch" guitar...

First, great playing, wonderful touch. I don’t own a Martin and I do play large guitars. My favorite is my Huss and Dalton MJC and I have a dreadnought, a D32 Lakewood. I have been looking at smaller guitars not to replace but to complement the Huss&Dalton and Lakewood. This 0-18 looks wonderful sounds wonderful and just might be the very thing I want. Thanks for the review.

Jack, I wanted a D-28 for 38 years. My teacher had one and I thought this was the sound of Heaven. Well, I went to Penny Lane in Ft. Lauderdale and saw the D-18. This is my favorite acoustic guitar ever. I've owned one for about 2 years - immensely impressed with it. I think it's the depth of the body that makes the difference. It sounds much fuller than any 00 or 000 I've played. I had the use of an older 00 years ago and that one was also wonderful, but the sound of even the older 00's and 000's is much thinner - brighter, as you would expect from mahogany. The new 0-18 with it's deep mahogany body sounds to me like something in between rosewood and mahogany. I have a blue heron gig bag for mine and I think with that it might fit in the overhead on an airplane! I play jazz and swing rhythm guitar and I find the neck and action is good enough to play jazz chords up and down the neck - no problem. The only thing I might want different is a 1 11/16 width, but no one is making those anymore.

So I’m late to the party. This video has been posted for three years now. So I own two slope shoulder guitars a Gibson J-50 and a Martin DSS-17 Whiskey sunset. I also own a couple Dreadnought guitars. I owned a Loar LH-250 which for the money was a great little parlor guitar. I sold it to make way for a Martin O-18. Once purchased it will probably be the last I purchase. I will finally have the Three I’ve always wanted. Your playing is wonderful, the video is great and it really represents the 0-18 well. A very fine little/big Martin guitar. Thank you!

I like Martin 0-18 guitars a lot. I have a lot of old ones. You should try a vintage 0-18. They have a lot of different tones. Not saying a new 0-18 is bad. Just saying that old 0-18's are great. The old ones are pricey. The 60's and 50's are good years for the combination of sound and price.

Jack if I'm not being too personal here, I wonder how tall you are? I'm 5'7", and I'm thinking an 0-18 or 0-28 might be the right size for my not-so-tall frame. I have a dreadnought (a cheap Yamaha), and it feels pretty big to hold, but I really enjoy holding my classical guitar. I used to have a 00-15M until it got stolen, and in my memory it seemed pretty comfortable as well.

So for years I thought I was 5'11". Turns out I'm closer to 5'10" -- but I've been going to the chiropractor to get that extra inch back :-D ---but seriously, yes I think this would be a very comfortable guitar. I'm mostly a Gibson and Epiphone man. The only Martin I own is a D 45 12-string. And no, I usually don't play small guitars that much.
