Bro this is great! Your info and research is much appreciated
“Makes everyone think ur doing a 2 mph drift” perfectly describes my experience daily driving a welded in my cressida😂
Great content. Quick question I notice you y38 did not have the part ofr you axle to bolt up to did you just use the ones off your is300 differential
how much faster is the car? By the looks of it your stuck to the seat were you exaggerating that or no?
Haha great video ... these diffs go for reasonable good prices on Ebay i will be interested in one
hello bro how are you i need your little help....
i have crown 1994 model with 2jz vvti 3 coil engine with 4 forwad 8wire gear ..
kindly tell me which diffrential is best for pick and fuel effeciant?
Good vídeo, That differental fiths in a gs300 2002?
So what year frs can fit in there I got a automatic is300 does the automatic frs differential fit in there ?
the frs/brz diff bushing are the all the dame as the is300 ?
You think this would work with a Lexus GS430?
Welded diff is more consistent like having a real 2 way lsd.... I have the same frs diff that you have and it tends to open up sometimes
HIT3291 yeah I started with a lsd. I just learned staying on throttle helps keeping it from opening up
@@CorneliusVeee I've drifted only with a welded diff in my SC. I moved over to an IS chassis and have a 5speed /w stock LSD. That shit is unpredictable af!! I've thought about going welded because it feels much more predictable... until I saw this video. Make sure you post a drift vid asap with your review on the BRZ diff. Thanks!
Bro facts i got the 4.10 LSD and every now and then that thing opens up gonna weld it this weekend
Hey so I’m going to be buying one of these diffs. The y38 for my manual is300. So it’s bolts right up? Don’t need new Axels or anything? Just have to do what you did with the drilling?
Yup bolts right up. Just use is300 axles. You can drill them or try to find frs diff bolts
I have a question - are the OEM Manual LSD Diff housings the same as the OEM Auto Diff housings? I have a stock LSD is300 currently, and I want to swap in the guts of an open-auto to weld for drifting but not sure if it'll just slide in. Do you happen to know CorneliusVEEEEEEEEE????
I’m not sure if the housings are exactly the same but I do know that auto or manual both fit exactly the same in the car.
What year frs diff works for the is300?
Is a 2016 manual frs diff the same? I know in the video you said 2013 - 2015. But I wanted to be sure.
2016 should be a y58 it's better its a 4.3 rather than the 4.1
Great video. How much did u pick the frs diff up for?
I don’t remember. I think about 300 same day delivered from local parts warehouse
The Y38 you got, is it from a manual or automatic FRS/BRZ? Does it matter? Going to order one soon... Thanks!
I believe they are the same
Good video.
Arent you supposed to be 4k RPM at 80mph?
What driveshafts did you use? Just plain is300 ones?
Yup is300 work
Hello I'm trying to do this set up as well. Does it matter if the brz/frs diff comes from a manual or auto? is there any difference. if so, how can you tell the difference?
They both will work. They are the same
Hey boss, did u need anything else or is it just a hot swap? I assume it domt have any wired components but just want to be sure.
Nothing else!
@@CorneliusVeee awesome thank u. Was that other comment I left the correct part?
Does this change pinion angle
Quick question
Is the 4.1 from a frs fit an automatic is300 or is it only for the manuals?
It should fit auto as well
@@CorneliusVeee thanks👍
How is It on the highway? This interests me alot but I do alot of long highway drives and I'd hate to be driving at 4k rpm on the highway for an hr every day lol
It really depends on what type of driver you are. My speedo is off because of the trans and diff but I am about 3.5k rpm going about 75
Found this one listed online
2013-2020 Subaru BRZ BR-Z Rear Axle Differential Carrier 4.10 Ratio AT
2013-2020 Subaru BRZ BR-Z Rear Axle Differential Carrier 4.10 Ratio AT" is that the correct one? Wanna beaude before i order it. Domt see the "Y38" making in the picture or mentioned in description.
hey! What was the easiest way to remove the axel stubs from the M96?
I usually get an pry bar between the stub and diff and hit the the pry bar with a hammer. A few taps and it’s out
Does it bolt right up or what is it that you need to do for it to be a direct bolt on just shave out the bolt holes?
Is300._. Danny it boots right up! You have two options. Shave the holes in the diff or buy FRS bolts. I called both subaru and Toyota and for some reason both don’t have any bolts im the country.
CorneliusVee so the axles & driveshaft all bolt up no mods needed?
Yup drive shaft and axle shoot right up. Make sure you use the is300 axle stubs
Amazing man thanks keep up the great work 👌🏽
Does it matter if my Lexus IS300 is auto and put a manual one or needs to be auto ? Since mines leaking I’m thinking of doing this lol
Auto and manual all fit the same!
Is the same for GS300 98-05?
Is your speedometer off, how does that work. I will be doing this swap into my auto is300 and I am worried about my Speedo not working properly
Yeah it’s off by like 8-10 mph if I remember correctly. So if the car said it was going 70 it was going 60
Ok...hear me out. If a frs diff can go in a sc, and a sc can go in a gs. Can you just fit a frs diff in a gs? If so, what has to be done to make it work?
Flanges
Hey bro, good day , I was looking at a is300 with 1jz-gte with frs 4.1 weld in diff , I haven't seen the car yet but planning to travel 5 hours to see the car , u think weld in is good idea ?
I street drive my welded to drift events. About 2.5 hours each way
U replied so fast ! , really appreciate u ! Subscribed!
Can it fit on an is350
you think a 2022 toyota 86 Differential faster i found a other differential thats a 2020 brz 4.30 ratio?
Yes they Y58 diff and it’s 4.3 ratio
The older model is Y38 4.1 ratio diff
4:3 is too short your mpg gonnbe ass
Will this work on a gs300?
Is it faster?
Why didnt u just buy is300 diff bushing to press into the brz diff like i did
Hey did you remove the stub shaft from the m96 diff and put it in the y38?
Yes I did
Lunatics Culture oh alr, isn’t there a way where u don’t have to remove the bolts on the axle shaft and just use a pry bar to push the whole axle shaft out of the diff? I imagine it would be easyer then having to remove those crazy tight bolts and risking stripping them.
Lunatics Culture also when you removed the bolts connecting the stub shaft to the actual axle was it leaking Grease?
U selling the welded one?
Hey bro can you bolt the y38 right onto the auto is300s as well?
Should bolt up fine !
@@CorneliusVeee thanks man i appreciate it!
@@CorneliusVeee hey bro can you swap the axels onto the FRS differential or do i need frs axels?
@@CorneliusVeee it even fits my 2008 lexus is250! Direct bolt on! Now i slide like butter
I believe this is conpatible with the 2nd gen IS am i right?
That I am not sure
What are the rpms like on the highway?
Supralars going 80 I am about 3.5k
what would be the best LSD to get if I drove an auto?
Not sure about auto but manual diffs fit auto
I need you to help me do this to my is300 too
Can you tell me how you got the axles back in the diff? Like did you pop them in with the diff lowered or when it was bolted up? Or do you have to remove the axles completely from the wheel bearing?
Praying you respond lol I’m putting a is300 LSD in my is250🔥🔥🔥🔥
I popped them in back when it was bolt back up.
i also did this mod, but my IS300 is an auto. the torque though! doing pulls at highway speeds feel way different
How is it? Is it faster
PLEASE describe the difference
@@Uno_Floydd bit quicker off the line, higher rpms at highway speeds so your closer to peak torque, night and day difference when sliding coming from an open diff
@@synqie874 mine is an open diff too. I was looking at alternatives to welding it
@@Uno_Floydd unless its your drift car i wouldnt weld it otherwise y38 is perfect for a daily and locks up when you want it to
I am also making my switch to the LSD not a y38 but a m98
@@Bellgrande the m98 is the OEM is300 LSD diff
Anyone with a CD009 running this 4.1 diff?
4:28 vtec kicked in yo
William Chau 😉
Has anyone done this with automatic transmissions?
Eryk Kurzawa not that I have heard of! But I know it will work
Would it fit on a GS
Not 100% sure but I think they are different
Anyone know how this would be with a cd009 ??
I'm wondering the same thing because I currently have the CD009. With the CD009 and a 4.1 diff where would the RPMs be on the freeway going 70-80mph. Anyone?
Couldn't you just get other bolts
Marko Rodriguez I called both toyota and subaru and we’re all out of stock
20mins ended up being 20hours 😆
Doing this on my is350 soon 💪
What grade diff fluid did you use?
75-90
Lunatics Culture any recommended brands?
Mobile 1. if you can get redline mt90 I would go with that
Stock is300 axle fits the frs diff?
Yup
