The way that child hugged the officer broke my heart. Wish every child had a great parental figure around them.
The way the boy opened his arms as he walked towards the cop, he was so desperate for a hug.
So glad the cop explained to the boy, that it was not his fault, he would have probably carried that guilt throughout his life.
I hope our law enforcement is like this with children.

The first one broke my heart when he walked to the Officer with his arms open for a hug and when he blamed himself because he was hungry. I hope he was able to let it go that it wasn’t his fault.
When I was a kid my parents were always at the bar. Many of nights the four of us walked to the bar hungry only for the bartender to give us a bag of chips and a coke. We didn’t have much food in the house.
I hope the parents never let the boy be with his uncle alone after that. 😢

Poor kiddo hugged the cop. When I was a kid in the 80’s cops in LA would get out to talk to us give us baseball cards the D.A.R.E. program would be awesome to have again for all these kids to understand that in todays day you never know and how that police officer reassured that kid was 😊top notch.

Born 88 grew up in 90s obvs. D.A.R.E. and scruff mcgruff. Miss them days. Worlds changed since.
People now make fun of Dare but I'll be honest those were fun times , the officers and staff were great people and genuinely didn't want us to use drugs. Mistakes were definitely made with the program don't get me wrong lol

I hate when I'm running from the cops & I choose to hide under the only house in the neighborhood that somehow mysteriously has drugs under it.
I mean the guy didn't do anything to prompt reasonable enough cause initially and the cop tried to illegally detain and search him

Depends on the state and he's being recorded, I don't think him saying "it's just weed who cares" is going to look good when his supervisors ask what happened. Also how was he supposed to know what he had on him if he ran? If a cop asks you a question, generally speaking it's not a good idea to run, even if you have nothing on you, don't run and act like a jackass
I agree weed is such a weak reason for getting arrested btw, but if your state/county declares it illegal you can't really do anything about it, it's like complaining you got arrested for drinking in public

About 40 years ago I was driving down a street with really nice houses. I started seeing tire tracks in yards. Then car body panels next to telephone poles. Roll up on a car coming from the other direction with nothing in front of the windshield but most of the engine. A man was in the road bowing down over and over. I don't speak Spanish but I kept hearing the word for God. Drunkest driver I ever saw as a police officer.

I’m just curious though. What was the legal basis for stop? The officer stated he looked suspicious because he kept looking back at him.
Being suspicious is not a crime, so I’m wonder what the legal bias was for the detainment.
Read up on Terry vs. Ohio. A landmark Supreme Court case.
The officer was legally protected in the suspicion.
when he admitted he was a felon on bond, it is admissible for search and seizure. He , is property of/ responsibility of the state

That first one is kinda messed up and that cop harassed him. Idk if that’s an agreement of bond is anytime you’re in contact with a officer they have a right to search you based on the charge(s) they are pressing on, I would think no because you haven’t been convicted yet.
