Brilliant video as always, good work so far. And yes, the four boxes two behind each crewstation are indeed part of the IHADSS system (Integrated Helmet And Display Sighting Subsystem) they are used to magnetically detect the position of the helmet, so that the instrumentation is shown correctly in the monocle each pilot have over the right eye.(Extra little tidbit the small tube on each glareshield are used to perform a boresight of each helmet during startup. basically a coillimator tube with concentric rings you align on the display units on the helmets.
Beautiful start! I love Israel, and the amazing modifications they perform on the equipment they purchase, and the innovations they build into the weapons they manufacture! If the cockpit is any reflection on the rest of the kit, this one is going to be eyepopping! I know you are using the 3D decals, but the bare plastic detail looks pretty good also. I will say you are tempting me to try some 3D decals in the future. Eagerly awaiting the next update!
Nice work Steve, the Quinta studios decals push the build to the next level, hope you have a safe and Merry Christmas and a happy new year, can't wait to see what's planned for 2025.
The kit is a great one. Just close to finish my one. The canopy needs a litte bit of time and work (clamp and glue strategy), but at the end fits realy good. Have fun with the kit. And Marry Christmas.
What work ....? Base cote , stick stuff down , move on ? Lets hope they can do 3D weathering next ... How about use some brushes on the exellent and accurate detail provided ... like a modeller .
Hi. I'm looking for some 3D decals for my own apache (AH 64 D by meng) only problem is I can't find any as there out of stock. My question is do your 3d decals made for the E apache fit ok because if so I can go ahead and purchase them. It's just on photos I've seen there's a different between the E and D model when it comes to what 3d decals you get. New fan of the channel btw👍
I recently treated myself to the Longbow version of the Meng Apache - could you please provide a link as to where you got the seat cushions from, please?

The kit detail is really fine and could be made to look good with the kit decals and painting. The 3D ones are a great shortcut though
Finally. Some one building a model without gloves. It looks great. Looking forward to the finished model.
Thanks James
Really nice work Steve! I really like your attention to detail and approach to building!!
Thank you 👍

Quinta are ok in this scale John. I’m not keen on the seatbelts but the instruments are great particularly the screens
Cracking work Steve, this should be good to watch. Looking forward to this build. Have a great christmas and a happy new year.

Thanks Chris - I’ve checked the canopy and it seems to fit just fine. Hopefully it still will when I come to fit it.

Hannants Mark
Is the ship you mentioned the old Airfix kit re-boxed ?
HMS Ajax was a sister ship to HMS Orion ,my dad's ship in ww2
Would like to get one .?
No it’s the new(ish) 1/700 flyhawk deluxe version - a completely upgraded kit compared to the Airfix.
What brand of tweezers are you using?
Surgical (ophthalmology) forceps. Not commercially available unfortunately
Oh excellent ive got this very kit did yours come with the figures ?
No Mark just the basic one.
I recently treated myself to the Longbow version of the Meng Apache - could you please provide a link as to where you got the seat cushions from, please?
Wow you got a lot of views on this.
Yes it’s hard to predict what will be popular - didn’t imagine this one would do so well
Thank you! I'm not sure I like the look of the fabric belts.
