This year we ordered an massive amount of Tulips, Daffodils, and Ranunculus, and that order has finally arrived. In this video we unbox the numerous varieties of Tulips, Daffodils (Narcissus), and Ranunculus all the while Serina talks about

Looks like you have a give away scammer in the replies. God bless
But are they chewable and yummy? I find stuff that’s disguised as candy is always better 😂
Hi please check my other comment
Not only is it so exciting to see Serena talk about it being Christmas with all of the bulbs, but the fact that there's a rainbow shooting out of her head in the background how perfect!!!
You're a flower farm, so you should go crazy ordering in bulbs! Only God knows what will be for next year. You have to be prepared in order to have enough flowers for those gorgeous bouquets. Many people may not understand that you have to plant 30% more than you anticipate needing because not all will perform and be okay for the bouquet that you sell. Don't forget the bone meal when you plant those spring bulbs. Your flowers will thank you with better stems! Love you guys.
I think Narcissus is pronounced with a “s” and not a “k” sound. I could be wrong but in 73 years of gardening I’ve never heard it pronounced with “k”. Anxious to see everything blooming in spring. God Bless
As a rule, I pronounce everything wrong, lol
Thank you for that I was about to write that. I thought maybe it was a Canadian thing 😂
Actually I think the idea of Nar”kisses” is really cute after all, seeing them first thing each spring is like getting a kiss. 😘
@@maynardgreenhouse definitely not a Canadian thing I’m sixth generation Canadian and wondered what in the world she was talking about and then she showed the photos and I thought ohhhhh!!❤🇨🇦🥰
@@leannekenyoung yeah I’ve noticed she often makes mistakes with pronunciation of plant names but we’re not all perfect. 😄
I can't tell you enough how seeing the 1-hour watch time for your video made me so happy 😅
Me too!! Im in work can’t wait to get home to watch!.🌼🌷🌸💐
All the bulb companies are going to see a serge in sales today thanks to you! Lol I just placed another order after watching this! Thanks so much for the inspiration!
I know I will be planting a few containers of bulbs very soon. I'm so excited.
Omg they are amazing!. I would love to add these to my flower garden as well. Could you please tell me where can I order them?. Thanks in advance 🙏🏼🥰
@@Liomy2023 if you hurry and order today most bulb companies are having huge sales on bulbs for the end of the season like 40% off! I already ordered way more than I planned on (partly due to watching this video 😂) or I would order more too!
I love how you Serena were talking about that you ask Ian if you should buy more and he tells you, totally. My husband is the same! 🤣 We are so lucky Serena!! 😍 (Yes I try to hold myself back a lot too, so I also need it)
Irises are a great option for following tulips in bloom time. There's a gap after the tulips are out and irises are one of the things that bloom in that gap.
Ian & Serena... Please adopt me?!
I want to come and plant Tulips and ranunculus.
I'll do it for free....! Just pay my plane ticket from 🇬🇧 😂😂😂
Back for another comment : I have planted Hyacinths in pots for a few years now and they always bloom, no matter what the weather is like (unlike tulips for me) so maybe your daughter could plant a few in a nice pot you can have near the door and see it from inside 🤷😊 Just an idea. 🙋
Its so interesting how different is our taste or our countries taste in colours. (Im in Hungary, Eu.)
I ordered 30.000 bulbs, coz i'm a florist farmer who does weddings, and i sell the rest in my bulb webshop. I can only sell in cream/blush/soft pink and soft salmon, apricot colours. Even the stronger pinks wouldn't sell.
If i would have yellows and reds in my offering i would end up composting them, coz nobody wants to pay for it. :D And also when i was selling in flowers market everybody only wanted to buy my soft coloured, pastel bouquets and didnt even look at the colourful ones. So i have to weed out all the colourful ones year by year... :D
Only people over 60 yo would buy red, but than also they only want cheap flowers for the cemetery.
About your order:
The Snow cristal is really beautiful, but the head is so heavy, the stem just unable to hold it in the bouquets. The Jan Bos colour is amazing, your daugther picked well!
Really?! wow!! That’s surprising! Maybe because 🇨🇦 Canada’s two main colors are red and white so we love a lot of red and white in our bouquets and we absolutely love rainbow colors bright bold colors I think it’s because the winters can be kind of harsh and being stuck indoors we like all the beautiful vibrant colors that nature has to offer. ❤🇨🇦🥰
I would LOVE if you started a mail order bulb business. You have access to varieties most of us can’t get. And many gardeners like myself would love the opportunity to buy in bulk.
Love flowers. So happy when they pop up all over the homestead ❤
its like you and Ian knew I was sick today and comfort rewatching your old vids. a new vid was a gift for a sick me!
I love straight bunches of daffodils! I love that you buy them closed and they get prettier every single day. They have such a long vase life
I love tulips and just planted mine. We went to The Netherlands earlier this year and I was in heaven touring the flower markets there. The bulb prices were so much less than I’m used to paying.
As a Dutch person I can recommend going to Lidl around or after 5th of September, or check the Dutch version of their leaflet.
Their bulbs are quite good quality(maybe a little smaller than Dutch store bought).
They have sun lovers, crème upstar, antoinette and many more.
Even for Dutch prizes they are cheap, just look for bulb mould/sour bulbs in the bag and avoid them(or dead tips).
Serena, I can see why you, and you husband are excited about the Tulip bulbs you've purchased for planting. All the bulbs you've selected are going to provide beautiful flowers.
Last fall, I planted tulips all around my bird feeders, bird bath, head stone for our dog (he passed away), and some beautiful stepping stones with a bench. Later, after night fall the raccoons came in, and had a buffet with every bulb. They dug up the bulbs, ate what they could, and destroyed the rest. I was so devastated because I had put a lot of effort in this garden area. When I plant tulips now, I have to put an electric solar fence around them to keep the raccoons, and deer out. Or switch to flowers the raccons, and deer don't like.
I share your pain! We have a big squirrel problem and I also have a dog and two toddlers. All combined they do a lot of damage to my gardens especially the tulips! I switched my focus to front yard this year in hopes less foot traffic will lead to blooms I get to see 😅 All the best to your garden! ~ Laura
@@AmbitiousChristianWomen I hope your successful, and have all kinds of lovely tulips.
Thankyou for putting the flower pictures up as you talked about each one. When you don’t I have to Google them as I watch lol
Serena standing in front of a double rainbow is huge vibes!
Omg those creamy pink add on tulips can't remember the name, but wow gorgeous. And yes I love allium too.
Copper image is lovely ! Perhaps a tiny bit of shade on it to get the copper tones ??? Wow. Love it
Look out Serena has her pink Charlie's Angel's jump suit on! I love it Serena! I can remember when Ian was against flowers as the main money maker and you proved him wrong. You bring joy!
All the unusual tulips opened new possibilities for me. The multiple colors per bloom, the fringed petals, the peony shaped flowers add up to WOW! Good luck!
Serena, please make a video of you planting all the bulbs in the hoop house and open fields.. It's just so calming for me. I love watching it.
P. S. Qatar is pronounced as "Kàtàr" (short a)
Or is it Guitar?
@@sandrajohnson9926 the variety that was flashed in the screen was Qatar.. So I guess that's the name of the variety. 😂
I loved this video. Monsier Jules Ellie is absolutely gorgeous, it's scent is divine. It's so frilly and full which makes it my absolute fav.
That's great all those tulips and daffodils. I just purchase some too in a much smaller scale. I can't wait to see it next spring.
Out of all the tulips you showed, I am drawn to Pink Star the most. Absolutely beautiful!!! Although I don't grow tulips (major deer challenge 😳), I so enjoy seeing all these varieties!
Now nacissus (pronounced naar·si·suhs) are another story! They grow and multiply like crazy! So easy to grow! Such a cheery flower for spring! Greetings from Michigan! 😊
Those purple queen of nights are 🔥🔥🔥🔥 And now further in... CANADIAN CELEBRATION!! Can't wait to see these next year
Hyacinths considered native to north Israel, poems and children's songs were written about him. It's one of my favorite flowers🤗❤️ It has an amazing sweet smell. I am very excited to see him at your farm, your daughter made a great choice!
You're holding those crates like babies:)))) I hope you will have enough greenery to go with your flowers!
She has, from herbs to anything will be a lovely green as the summer brings our more wonders from the earth
Same! Especially with me about to open all my tulip boxes, I also forget which ones I ordered 😅
A one hour bulb extravaganza! Loved it! Those orange tulips have my heart, love the sun lover and of course Disneyland Paris!! And your impulse bulbs are so stunning, those pinky-apricot colors are amazing 💚
Beautiful selection! Do you ever make bouquets using just one type/color? I love the impact that makes!
Agree. She should. I have always wondered that as well. I would buy a bouquet of same colored flowers over the mixed market yep any day of the week.
@@jjbjjbh Me too, especially when your trying to coordinate your flowers with your decor. I actually end up buying more bunches that way!
You are creating your very own Keukenhof!
This is a great collection of amazing tulips. Just beautiful!
Totally love the multiflowering Tulips and will be experimenting with them this year as well! Pretty exciting!
Great haul! Can’t wait to see them all in full bloom 🎉
Those peonies you ordered are both fragrant and a very old variety. Also You should buy a white double peony called Festiva Maxima. Very old variety also and a double with a slight streaking of raspberry red. Stink him out!!!!!!
Love Festival Maxima!
So amazing!
getting ready to plant my bulbs soon!
You're NOT crazy. You're CRAY-CRAY! ;) Looking forward to seeing all this next Spring!!!!!!!!
Just wondering if you ever thought of selling to florists or is that too complicated? I love your tours of your flower gardens as they all appear, grow and change. I really enjoying seeing all of the flowers that you have chosen to plant, along with the descriptions that you give. My favourite is seeing each flower in detail while you pick them and seeing you make your glorious bouquets. You both work so hard and you deserve to reap benefits of your hard work. 🌻🌼🌷🌴 It is spring 🌼 here in Australia 🌝🌦⛈
I grew Jan Bos hyacinth last year and all I can say is WOW! I wish I could buy a big amt of these. They were really bright and cheery.
Just dig and divide those baby bulbets.
There are others ways to make more. Cutting bulbs, treating, etc. Look up.
your videos add so much fuel to the fire of my flower addiction!!!!
Hi Serena, I'm so excited to see your spring show. They all look beautiful. Question, if I cut the tulip flower off the bulb once bloomed and leave the bulb in the ground would it come back year after year?
Yup, you just need to leave at least 2 leaves, and have cold enough winters. I don't reuse my bulbs because we cut off all the leaves and try and get stems as long as possible
@@YouCantEatTheGrass Thank you. Yeah I'm in Idaho so our winter's are cold and we do get some snow. I planted 250 bulbs in my landscape this past week. Excited to see your farm come spring. 😍 Have a good day
Can't WAIT for Spring after seeing this! Completely agree with your shopping strategy. 🙂💖
Everything I go to a store with bulbs, I come home with more. This video made me feel okay about my decisions and made me think I should go get more! Haha. You guys are the best!
I'm 10mins and this is already one of my favourite videos. Our presale for spring bulbs starts November for a Feb delivery and I'm itching to top up daffodil stocks!
I grew Negrita (purple) last year for my garden and I loved it! I paired it with the Miami Sunset fringed tulip and they were so striking! Miami Sunset has orange, pink, a bit of yellow and a bit of purple at the base.
WOWEE, youse must have many cold-rooms! I don't have enough fridge space to grow *any* tulips. You go! That's wonderful!
I watched 20 mins of your video and literally paused and ran to the Homedepot to grab what I could before our ground freezes. (Alberta) Your excitement is infecting! I am excited for spring just to see all your blooms!
Qatar = Kah-tar like the country
So exciting to see what you have planned in terms of tulips for next year. Can’t wait. A suggestion Serina ..... set up the tripod to videotape these kinds of blogs where you are basically stationary. So Ian doesn’t have to babysit the camera and be productive helping elsewhere.
I absolutely love the Queen Of The Night, and couldn't get photos to do it justice. I also have Black Hero, which is a double version of it, which flowers around the same time. I also have the Snow Crystal, which flowered later than all the others, and grew taller in my tubs than in the ground. We did have a very dry Spring this year though, so the tubs got more water. I'm certainly looking forward to them coming back up next Spring!
You excitement in this video warms my heart. You made my day. Thanks, Serena.
When I'm having a rough day an need positively some peace and joy 👏 your video pops up..thank you guys for being just the right video I'd to watch👏👏
I got the same Aveyron and Quebec for my beds this year im excited xD I also found Angelique to mix in with some older bulbs :) its going to be a great spring!!
Ohhh this is so exciting! Just starting to watch can't wait to see if you'll mention this, where do you bulk buy your bulbs? I'm from Canada too and haven't found many places yet
I love those Sunlovers, so beautiful! But I also love single tulips, especially the pure clear colours like the reds and deep yellows❤❤❤ Good luck this years flowers you guys👍🥰
Your awesome! Glad to see someone get as excited as me about bulbs and flowers!! lol
That’s so awesome you allow the kids to pick things from the catalogue for your farm. Some of my favourite memories of my parents are gardening and one is my Mom allowed to me to choose seeds for the garden.
I love it!
Love the way u plant them as a farmer. Love tulips they come after daffodils 🎉❤
I hope you guys will actually plant all the bulbs (thinking about how things went this season with succesion planting etc. ...) Nice variaties !
I only grew about 40 aveyron tulips last year you won’t be disappointed. they were huge and gorgeous
Queen of knight tulip, ooh, aah 😍. Looking forward to Spring. You guys do a great job!
You are such an inspiration. We are microgreens farmers expanded to salads as well and added a few flowers for a few bouquets this summer. I bought more flowers for next year. We are small urban farmers.
Get the lemon or orange edible marigolds fir your salad mix!
Love seeing what you ordered. I don’t even have a flower farm and I bought 500 tulips for my tiny garden 😂
Queen of Night tulip bulbs were our wedding favour
I'm so excited already to see all of those flowers in bouquets!
I don't know if this is one of those regional differences, but in Australia we pronounce 'Narcissus' as 'Nar-Siss-Us' like the greek mythology and the word narcissist.
Also! I learnt from another flower farmer (maybe northlawn or flower hill farm?) that if you pull on your daffodil stems rather than cutting them, they snap off lovely and clean with a few extra centimetres of length.
Good tip! Thanks
OMG. You have gotten so far ❤ someone to look up. Our season was so terrible 😢 but in the end I made it to my first farmers market. Not flowers - they just started to bloom - after first frost - but are super small 😂 but we had huge harvest off apples instead. I was so scared, had panic attack this morning - but your voice was in my head - you started from zero, you started as new - why I can’t I start? And it went beyond my expectations. So thank you 🙏
Amazing. Will you please post links for ordering bulbs
Just gorgeous! You've inspired me to try out several SunLover varieties.... Can't wait to receive and plant them
Spring is always an amazing time of year. I absolutely love any flower that is pink & yellow, so I'm excited to see the Pink Star and Cream Upstar! My most favorite flower is a Peony especially a pink/yellow one LOL. So excited for you!
Raspberry Sundae?!
I can hardly wait to see all of the bulbs in bloom next year! Kudos to you!
I am in love with all of these 😍 these are so lovely to see all the varieties that you can buy and actually grow versus people with smaller limited gardens and budgets
What a fun video! Loved it! 🌷🌷🌷
Living my tulip shopping life through you! I'm always up for your impulse purchase(s) 🤣
what a joy, Serena showing and talking in deep 💯 good informations Tuplips, Daffodils, Ranunculus thank you 🌷🎃🎃🎃
Oh my goodness! I would be in la la land...lol...I think I would have to just go swimming in those beauties. God bless y'all 😊
So exciting!!! I love when bulbs come in!
I just got my daffodils in.
I'm actually doing the opposite. I'm scaling back this year, figure things out and then maybe go bigger next year. Love seeing all your flowers you order!! I've got to get in the habit of calling them narciss instead of daffodils!
Ohhhhhhhwoooooooowwwwwww! Hurry spring!! 🎉
I love that outfit…That bright pink is such a flattering color on you Serena! I’ve been catching up on your channel and looking forward to seeing all you do this season!
Thank you so much!!
I'm excited to see your Tulips bloom soon❤️💐😇..
So happy for you guys, this has been such a great year for you!! Just keep getting bigger and better! Thanks for bringing us along 🤩🥰
I always love seeing your bulb hauls when they come in! And I agree with both of you that you need to buy the quantity that will get you to your sales goals for next year. I’m also the kind of person who wants to hold back (and I usually do since I just grow stuff for myself), and sometimes you do need that push to make sure you’re getting enough. Your business is growing so much right now; it makes perfect sense to double check to make sure you have enough bulbs and a wide enough variety that you can meet bigger goals for next year.
I have grown Golden Dukat and some of the other big doubles, they are beautiful- sometimes the blooms are so heavy, though, that they break over the stems. I also have some Tahiti and they have a lovely fragrance. Tulips were lovely, sorry they are a cut and done thing! Should be a great spring for you and for us watching.
Golden Dukat and Dick Wilden are the same daffodil, I also avoid them because they droop to the ground.
They start strong but most of the times get too heavy.
Replete, delnasaugh, white lion, sweet desire, white obdam have nice strong stems for double daffodils.
I think you may have the most beautiful bouquets of all the youtube gardeners I follow.
The Pink Star!!!! Bets on that being one of your new favorites 😉
Over here in UK, daffodils and narcissi go in now, and tulips beginning November into December so long as the groung isn't frozen.
Slawa (pronounced SLAH-vuh) is a purple/copper sport of the Czech bred tulip Gavota (maroon with gold edge). Slawa is sometimes called Muvato.
If you need Queen of Night but prefer doubles, Black Hero is the double sport of Queen of Night.
Enjoy them all!
FYI, Laura at Garden Answer shows the Slawa tulips (under the Movato name) in her 2019 tulip tour around minute 8:40.
Lot of toilet bulbs lots of work but the spring coming those tulips ,are going to be beautiful, I never see so many different tulips I wish I can have them in my garden good luck and I can't wait in a spring see them growing take care.
Hello 👋, Holy Waters Homestead here…
A good name for that bouquet would be “Serina’s Sunset Bouquet.”
Excited to see these on 2023!!!! 😍😍😍
Is planting daffs around your tulip beds viable? It may give the voles a bellyache.
Qatar tulip (pronounced more like “cutter” like the Arab country) is known to last so long it almost dries as-is - I’m so curious to see how it works for you and hope you can try a few as dried.
I absolutely love them!. Omg you are amazing!. Could you please let me know where can I order these bulbs online?. I am a new gardener and I need to expand my garden next year!. These tulips are stunning 🤩
I am also from Canada , Horsefly Bc .
Watching your videos across two borders in central Mexico. Lake Chapala. Year round growing season since our weather is pretty perfect. No freezes or intense droughts (yet). Would love to find a source here in Mexico for bulbs. Found none yet.
Perfect warm weather is great, but horrible for tulips.
They need a cold period to form the flower and to activate, also the blooms go really quick in the heat and wil not grow/bloom again unless chilled again.
So the bulbs have to be dug out and chilled or bought again, from a special seller that chilled them.
Pink jumpsuit an Tulip talk for an hour with Serena ?! Yes please !
Love that you're not only sharing what you've bought but why!
Have you thought about planting an amount of Queen of Night in a tunnel to spread the flower season of this dramatic tulip. ( I would do that.) Kind regards, Marcus
That's the plan! Split the varieties between field and tunnel so each 1 blooms at 2 different times to extend the season for everything without having to store in the cooler for 4 weeks
Perfect !
Did you also know that it is important to plant after the tulips taghetes. ( marygold) they improve the soil after tulips.
An older tulip grower from the Netherlands told me that.
They spray also with a liquid of garlic to prevent diseases or snail damage.
Garlic pressed or mixed and than boiling water. Let it cool off ...than you add 1 Liter of this to 9 Liter water.
Better is leave the liquid a few days ...it will turn into blue or green.
Than it works the best.
Also from an older experienced man from the Netherlands.
Good luck with the tulips.
Ok I need to talk to Ian before I order, instead of my husband! Hahaha
My suggestion regarding Narcissus: 'Art Perfume' and 'Art Design'.
They look very regal for a filled double. And smell DIVINE
