Don't you just love drilling holes in your brand new $5000 Kayak? I got the 136 Auto, Navarre products are great! How is that net ? was looking at it but the bent handle had me guessing. lost a 10# Rainbow last weekend, too big for my net ! Great detailed vid.
Making the holes was defiantly not my favorite part of this project. I didn't even know Rainbows got that big! I probably only caught little stocked trout. Check out my review and how I mounted the Yak Attack net, it's not for everyone.ruclips.net/video/j6V3KfuHHUE/видео.html
Thanks! I had a great time on it sat (check out my video). Nick’s upgrades are a must. One reason for OT some don’t talk about is you will be faster than just about any other yak! The drive is also solid, many other yak makers with constant drive issue.
@@Slowboatfishing lol well I’ll admit I did pay shipping 4 times over 2 days haha i kept findin more and more parts .. I ended up with pretty much everything he makes for the pdl
Thanks! I definitely would recommend Old Town, one of the only brands that I don’t hear any issues from anyone from the two clubs I fish with. If you can go for the 120, makes a difference if you like to stand and fish.
I also got the grey ghost i love the color. I noticed the Navarre pieces are 3d printed. Well I have a 3d printer and have orange im going to 3d print those pieces. I have already 3d printed spacers for the drive and replaced the black endcaps of the drive as well. Just so you know 3d printed parts will warp over time while in the sun. It might be a couple months or a couple years depends how hot it is. I wouldnt trust it for handles overtime. Been printing for 3 years. The orange nut for the prop i keep it in the drive because the OEM one is fine till i lose it then i can grab the spare if needed. The black one probably floats too since its bigger than the original nut from the older drives and its plastic.
Appreciate it, thanks for watching. Next tournament is June 3rd and so my next video will be June 9th. I need to have a good finish to qualify for TOC, I’m sitting right outside of the cut.
Nick did a video on installing that flex lock knob for the pedal drive and I believe he said not to use that white washer when putting on his flex locking knob. Nice kayak, I just got a new Sportsman PDL 120 myself . I will definitely be using some of your tips to outfit mine. Thanks
You are correct, the white washer should be removed. I tried it with and without. Honestly, it kept popping up on me just pedaling over open water on my last tournament, so just going to use it as a spare. Thanks for watching!
I used a Navarre insert my buddy purchased as a template. I probably would use tracing paper and then make a cardboard template. Or something like that, at least that was my original thought. Thanks for watching!
Love that Gray Ghost special edition, looks really BADASS. Awesome setup, the way you got it rigged up, great job. Do you ever stand up and fish from it? Is it pretty stable?
Thanks! I not only liked the color better, but specifically sold my 106 to get the 120 to stand. Check out some of my more recent tournament videos, I show some fishing from the standing position and catch and land fish. A lot of the difference from the 106 to the 120 is in the nose so making it more stable to stand. It is actually faster to BTW! Not once from either yak was I close to feeling like I was flipping. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.
I did use the Navarre scupper plug mount. 10:29 The hole I made is for the transducer wire using a thru hole kit. I have read on Old town site, that as long as the area around the hole is not the issue then it’s covered. Drill at your own risk.
@Slowboatfishing OH well that's good to know! Great looking rig by the way, that grey ghost is sharp looking. I have the orange, I love it. I also did a lot of Navarre mods, Nick's a good dude! I messaged him about something on RUclips and left my number, figuring I may hear something in a few days, he called me within a minute! Haha. Well good luck with your sweet rig.
I definitely will add them if I add power, currently man powered and not required. I have thought of it just for safety as most of my tournaments start in the dark.
Crap. I thought this was going to be the first Old Town video that wasn't sponsored by Navarre. Would be nice to see something where he is not paying everyone to be on his videos. But, I guess it can't be found.
@@reallyjustincase I did not receive any product or compensation for this video. 100% out of my pocket. I think just everyone respects Navarre in the Old Town community and uses his stuff. Since this video others have made similar products that are also good if you wanted to go with another company.

Navarre has made my PDL 120 so much more efficient and comfortable in so many ways. Love his stuff!
Yes, I agree and he stands behind his work. Thanks for checking out my vid.
Great looking rig! Enjoyed seeing all the Navarre solutions. Nick’s ingenuity is the main reason I’m leaning toward Old Town.

Wow what an awesome color and kayak!
Great video and thanks for sharing….🙌🏻
Appreciate it, I have had for a year now and still enjoying it.
looking for the 2 inch lifts that you put under the back of the seat. Checked Navarre site and didn't see them. ???

Great overview and installations, thank you.
Thanks I appreciate it! You only get one shot to film it. Let me know if you have any questions.
Nice dude I just ordered a 106 PDL and then went on the navarre website and spent like 800 bucks gettin everything they had for the old towns lol
Ya better to order all at one time then pay $8 shipping 10 times like I did 😂😂😂
@@Slowboatfishing lol well I’ll admit I did pay shipping 4 times over 2 days haha i kept findin more and more parts .. I ended up with pretty much everything he makes for the pdl
Man that color is incredible
Thanks, I’m happy with it!
I just bought my first pedal kayak the 106 pdl in the special edition color cant wait to pick it up
You are going to enjoy it! One of the better looking yaks I have seen. Thanks for watching!
Great video buddy. We’ve been wanting to do this for a year haha. Can’t wait to see the ghost on the water!
Thanks! Hopefully this helps someone save hours of watching RUclips “how to” like we did.
Kayak turned out really sick.. I'm looking for My first, I like this color scheme, and the orange one..

Can’t beat the color of the Ghost! I will keep an eye on the 3D print stuff, so far no sign of heat damage.
#108 checking in. Good work on the video. Some nice mods. Looking forward to seeing some top placements in those tournaments :)

Nice kayak, Subscribed
Thanks! I should have a tournament vid up next Thursday… as long as I catch ‘em tomorrow!!
Hello, did you use a template for the drive insert? If so can I find or buy this somewhere?

Hello, do you mind sharing the name of the bag you have attached behind your seat?
Titan cooler by Artic zone I bought it Costco and just saw them the other day. Holds 3 water bottles and has a place for snacks. Thanks for watching!
We're did you get the steering handle and rod track cover for your kayak

He should be back to making his products again, he had a house fire where he makes everything.

Navarre also has a scupper hole transducer mount, you wouldn't have had to drill a hole negating you lifetime warranty on your hull.

Appreciate it! It was worth the wait. Thanks for watching.
Your missing the red and green light on front req for most motorized kayacs

You know if you have any leashes, you attach them to that string that you cut off
