- Since I missed taking a time lapse of the snow falling, I set my camera for a time lapse of the snow plowing, shoveling and melting. Two weeks to pretty much clear out the 34 inches with the rain melting most of it in the second week.
Here in northern Illinois we've had snow on the ground since New Years Day. It just keeps piling on. I am so excited for next week, we're finally going to get above freezing again!
Damn that's a long ass time to have snow on the ground! Here where I live in Southeast Michigan, we haven't had snow on the ground for 1½ months straight like you have, but we've had snow on the ground for 3-4 weeks now that just keeps piling up too (which is the longest I can remember, because before it was only 2 weeks max that we had some snow on the ground). I'm also excited too though, because next Monday ends our 16 or 17 day streak below freezing finally!
Oh so your not the only here who wished the snow melted this snowy winter
This is what youtube recommends me these days
The morning after the first clear night after a big snowstorm is always cold, it’s about 10-20 degrees below normal.
I live in Melbourne in Australia, and this year it snowed here for the very first time in my life. I’m watching this video in September as the snow here is about to melt soon and spring is around the corner.
The Snow Looks beautiful in The Sun and Clear Blue sky.
Typical Mid-Atlantic snow-storm. These big ones hit every five to ten years and last about a week or so. One week a blizz, next week it's spring :)
I'm always glad to see it snow, and then glad to see it go!
Great video... no one made a snowman?
It just snowed a lot in texas and it melts like wayyyy faster than this it only took a half day and melted half of the snow
Not one single snowman...
Too deep
Wow I like the sky snow and nature Thanks for making this video!
Beautiful homes.
Yeah 2 weeks is a long time for it to melt. However, over here where I live in Montana The sun rarely melts the snow because it's too cold during the Winter like 10 to 20 degrees, and it's a dry cold. But when we get a Thaw it clouds up, gets very warm like 45 day and night, and it Rains. The Rain melts the snow within 2 days no matter how deep it gets here. Yeah The Rain usually does melt the snow much much faster than the Sun.
Lawrence Riitano 45 degrees is not cold
warm*
@@badkarma1262 It is in Montana.
@@badkarma1262 very warm in the winter
It goes from northern snow pile up to Southern snow pile up
how hot was it throughout the two weeks?
I don't remember exactly. I think it was in the 40's and 50's for the most part and maybe high 30's at night. It wasn't really cold throughout

SNOW
I wonder if snow melts faster in DC than Denver
Time for the neighbor to sell that truck, it never moves.
Washington DC is way too south for having lang period of cold air. After Blizzard, snow normally goes almost as fast as it comes. That's the difference to the north of US/Canada where the snow between Blizzards does not melt and the snow can sum up during winter.
I would kill to have snow last that long here in southern Tennessee. For us it usually lasts a day or less. It is a very very big abnormality if we get snow that lasts any more than a day or two
nice video that shows that the climate is out of order
No, this is not an unusual thing to happen in the Eastern United States.
2021 anyone??
A very nice video.
Nice music
I hope we 3 feet this year! We need something to have fun with! At least here in Baltimore it shuts the crime down !
How does that much snow melt in 2 weeks
hot temperatures 35° at night 50° during the day
the rain
I don't know but I've seen 36 inches of snow melt within a week in Denver.
Beautiful neighborhood. Virginia or Maryland? I don't know of any neighborhood in DC that looks like this.
