Mike Dawes is such an amazing talent. It is so tempting to just buy whatever he endorses (I also appreciate him tossing in that “boomer bend” for us ancient dudes). But, for me, the creative video "close-up/pull-away" shot of the bowl of fruit (when all I really wanted to see was the controls on this amplifier) was the clincher! It's like Hughes and Kettner are giving me subliminal, fruit-flavored compulsions to purchase the era 2. Go on and JUST TAKE MY MONEY Hughes and Kettner! But I DEMAND at least one orange to come with this damn thing...

There must be a weak link in your tweeters. I've read a couple comments of tweeters going bad in other customers amps. I just purchased a demo model this week. Brought it home and immediately noticed the tweeter was blown. I'm getting a new replacement so we shall see. But I'm not impressed with the durability factor. I hope to use this amp as my main small gigging option. I cannot afford the time it will take to replace the tweeter but I will give it another go. This is an awesome review of the amp. This review was one of the videos that sold me on it.
Ha, we had to use the camera's audio in the end, because Mike's mobile phone was on the whole time and it wreaked havoc with our pro-recorded signal ;) We hope to have him over to H&K Germany soon to do something in our showroom studio!
there was a whole lotta talk and no playing. disappointing. I have used the Era 1 for years. I was thinking of getting the Era2 but as I said there was a whole lotta talking and no playing to hear the real sound.
